Maybe mentioned already? I know its rather small image but this appears to be a shot of Malibu Possibly. Or whatever the in-game equivalent is called.

No, this is the Alamo sea, but it is a similar layout.

Looks to me like there's a decent bit of land next to/behind Mt Chiliad that we haven't been shown yet.

Also, just an observation but I had no idea until now how close the Alamo Sea would be to the Vinewood Hills until now, judging by other screens/fan maps. My sense of scale etc is crap however

On the 'Greetings from grapeseed' The cut-out shape with red outline could define the boundary of the region. Probably not much use, although it perhaps suggests that those mystery tall buildings we've seen would be contained inside Grapeseed.

guys, I'm not trying to be 'not believing' rockstar when they say the game only features los santos and blaine county, but I'm starting to think there will be another island, which may be a part of blaine county, north of paleto. this image:

shows on the left the mountain which we think is mount chilliad, but on the right there's a mountain range we haven't seen yet I think. Also, if someone saw this earlier, I don't want to claim I'm the first one ever to point this out. But I want to say, if you don't believe me, I want prove of these montains in another location.

Normally the more of the map you see, the smaller it feels. However, the more I see of GTA 5, the bigger it feels. I'm now a believer that Rockstar is indeed hiding something big somewhere. Not another city, but a lot more countryside and a medium-sized town.

To be honest I think those mountains are about as accurate to the game as the shark eating a burger with a fork.

I know this is a bit off-topic but, am I the only person on here that doesn't like the fact that there is a high chance of snow being in GTA V?

 

Don't get me wrong, I like that R* are trying to fit in lots of stuff into this game, from stock markets, to hunting, to deep sea exploration, but I feel that having snow in the game sort of ruins the sunny California vibe that the game is meant to portray. I understand that a lot of the mountains around LA do get snow irl, yet the postcard that showed what supposedly is snow, looked like there would be lots of snow, which I don't really like, and personally think would be better suited for Liberty City.

 

Of course, I have not played the game yet, so I don't know how much snow there is, or even where exactly it is, but right now, I don't really like it. You never know though, once I try it, I may actually like it.

Not too long ago, I predicted there would be an island in the north west area of the map, similar to the JC2 map if anyone has played that game. Its possible that something is there.

That would make sense because I think it's near the lighthouse.

I think the shot is from around the green circle but I'm having a hard time with the perspective of the mountain in the background. Seems small in the first shot being that it's so much closer than the lighthouse shot.

I know this one isn't very clear, but i think just above and behind the left shore you can see a shoreline in the distance

Left is mount chilliad, dont recall having seen the mountain shoreline on the right also

Not aside from the piece of blueprint, no.

Believe it or not, a minute before the new info came out, I was about to post this.

Thought I would hold off until the frenzy settled down a bit.

Not really about Malibu itself, but a Naval Air Station which is only 40km (25 miles) up the coastal highway.

Could be what the military base is inspired by. Notice the Lemar St. in the purple circle too.

Same swampy river flat area & there are vineyards & orchards inland & to the South.

Base is called Point Mugu NAS base in Ventura County.

As far as the snow goes I have a couple of ideas. Remember how GTA IV took place in the Autumn of 2008 (storyline wise)? If GTA V were to take place in the Spring or Fall of the year, the temps would be cold enough in the higher elevations around or above 8,000 ft. for snow to fall and accumulate.

 

Also, like others have said, the entire Northeastern part of the map remains to be known 100% so if that's the case, they could have moved a portion of the lower Sierra Nevada mountains (around Bakersfield) to the map. I mean, they placed the Salton Sea just NORTH of Los Angeles instead of Southeast, so it's plausible that they could have moved other far away areas closer than they normally would be.

I'm pretty much convinced there's another island in the north west area of the map. Before I was just speculating but now I'm positive there's actually something there. Rockstar did hide it very well. Makes me wonder whats over there? Maybe that's the area with snow?

Just because it's called "North Yankton" or whatever doesn't mean it has to be in the north, maybe the town is Yankton and that's just a section of it that's at a higher elevation and where the ski resort and whatever else is. Or there could be a South Yankton. It'd be weird to have a town called "North Yankton" and not have a counterpart.
