There are a few good theories on this page alone.

They all seem plausible but I guess we wont find out until Sept 17th.

One of the first things I'll be doing when I get the game is go to these locations to see for myself.

I still think the hut is a base with a mine under it going into the mountain, just a hunch. the other scaffold like structure could just be a drill.... just my opinion, can't wait to find out for real though!

In the background of trevor there seems to be a cable lift. also look at the cables in the air.

In that case it would really make sense that the Military Base is a Naval Base (looking at the marines sign on the helicopter and the Base: Naval Base Ventura Country)

That looks like a helicopter.

Looks like the one in this picture. They both have those rounded cylinder things sticking out of them.

 

 

I do think there will be cable cars though. Thats most likely how the parachuting guy in the gameplay video got to the top of the mountain where the shed is.

I have searched for this bridge as well, but have found no good match yet. Most of the ones I have found in similar locations do not have the arched construction on the underside of each span. I couldn't find any good sideviews of the one you posted though.

R* have been pretty liberal with other bridges in the game, for example the stoney creek bridge which is located in canada, so the inspiration for the bridge could also be taken from somewhere outside california.

I bet it's the quarry. Looks like a quarry, you can't see down it, but it "looks" like you could.

 

I think those are the same choppers in the other pic above, and those cylinders are winches for lowering each other down.

There's still quite a lot of the east and west coast that we haven't seen yet, and there's still space where one could be to the west of the Route 68 area or even the eastern part of the desert. Still a lot we haven't clearly seen so I still think there's a decent chance for seeing one out there.

I can't help but feel partially responsible for Rockstar being so tight lipped.

 

This thread has pretty much painting a good picture of what we can expect come release day, and Rockstar still needs some sort of surprises up their sleeves.

I've a quick question, being LS the only city, is it confirmed that there will be a lot of towns on the countryside? I've seen somewhere R* saying that, "lots of towns"

Is that true?

If it is, even with the awesome work of all the mappers here, I don't quite think that is correct to say that we've seen 80-90% like many users say
