Mapping Los Santos! Building/landmark analysis

Hey guys.

 

So on topic, Angeleno from the french forum GTANF found the following buildings :

 

Mesa Vista Motel in Raton, New Mexico :

 

Roy's Motel & Cafe in Amboy, California :

 

Glancy Motor Hotel in Clinton, Oklahoma :

 

Bob's Liquor in Saint Louis, Missouri :

 

Now I know what you're thinking : "That's cool but most of these are pretty far from California!"

I know they are but they all have something in common : they are all located on Route 66.

Well to be absolutely exact, Raton, NM isn't on Route 66 but you have to admit the sign and office look spot on.

 

So all of this would mean that R* wasn't focused only on SoCal and they picked a few buildings here and there

along Route 66, up to Missouri.

Now that's not a big deal since most of those are just there to put some life along a deserted countryside road : Route 68.

 

Tell me what you think about this guys.

Nice work.

I have a suspicion that some of the signs might be generic signs for similar businesses. What I mean is, it may be possible that several hotels or roadside cafes may use similar signs made by a major supplier. The fact that most of these finds are on Route 66 ties them together nicely though.

I don't know why anybody didn't recognize this road is to big to end up like this

 

 

and if you look closely the road is bigger than street road, it looks like highway. this road could be leading to another part of town.. i am 100% sure. it should look big as that, if not bigger.

 

 

I know rockstar. they wouldn't put highway there just for the little docks. what do you thing guyz?

If you bother to look around the blueprint map, you'll notice many, many other roads that are exactly as wide as the "highway" you pointed out.

It is a road leading to the docks, no mysteries there.

You can even see one ship berthed there.

I think you are wrong since there is a highway in all of the harbor that is already showing. And a highway leading to a sea port makes more sense than some dirt road. It allows for fast transport too all locations on the main land (or island in this circumstance).

Yes, there is something south, namely another part of the harbor since not all of the harbor is showing. Anything else, not that likely.

i do want to see the map.... so badly. but its best to see it on 17th.

But i dont believe it ends abruptly.

Oh by the way the GTA IV "leaked" was on the 26th of March 2008, IV released on the 29th March 2008.

 

So i'm guessing during map printing stage someone at the press photo'd it. doubt r* will let that mistake happen again, but if it does it'll be in a few weeks. 14th-18th August.

so I viewd the first post, and I don't see this one in it. I beleive it is the chinese theater in LA to the left of the image, and I'm sure the "doppler" is a landmark as well, but maybe people from LA know what R* was meaning by it.

 

 

-some of the Identified building pic. I was not able to open in fliker to see proberly, the thump nail is present but when I open them it says :This is not the page you're looking for.

also people have had a debate about some pic a few pages earlier about some big building in the mist behind this bridge, that pic was hazzy and I think this one shows the same location in the background to the right and it is more clear.

You can actually see the road splitting off to the east in the helicopter battle minimap. You can also make out the shape of the other two smaller bits that go off the seen blueprint, they look similar to the map above.

First version is it. Here we have the JETEAM Terminal what is in real the AP Terminal. And the green market aera shows there is no connection to this road.
