Mapping Los Santos! Building/landmark analysis

And in the screen where is the tuned Sabre, those buildings are just the Los Santos skyline. The perspective and the buildings behind others made that shape.

If this is just halfway looking toward Mt Chilliad from the Alamo Sea, then CVG were right, The lake is massive!

No beef just trying to make sure of things, how do you know the second screen (the latest one) isn't taken like metres from the shoreline for example?

Just wondering what evidence you've used to claim that the shot was taken from halfway across the lake aside from the coloured lines for perspective. What i mean is, how do we know the boat isn't actually further 'behind' your purple lines. I hope you're right by the way, if thats halfway then yes its huge yay! for some reason though, i can't help but think that it won't be that big

Under the Marines helicopter you can see where the two roads from Trevor's trailer join together.

I don't know if this is obvious or not, but at first I thought it was north of chilliad, the sea, but it's not, it's the alamo sea, with the south face of chilliad with a lot more detail what we have seen till now.

If this is just halfway looking toward Mt Chilliad from the Alamo Sea, then CVG were right, The lake is massive!

From the new screenshot, that mountain is looking more like the one in trailer 1

Bixby Bridge in Monterey, CA.

 

Monterey is in Central CA, not SoCal.

i know what your saying but technically its in the southern half of california

I guess they added it because it was simply such an iconic landmark in CA that they felt if they added in GTA V it would add to a more US/CA feel

Ummm I really don't understand how you guys can consider the city THAT big. I mean, the map is huge but the city isn't all that big. It's kinda small to be honest. But I'm still gonna play the sh*t out of the game though. Not complaining....

Compared to the countryside, the city takes up a much smaller portion of the map but it is by no means "small". Los Santos is bigger than Liberty City. I don't know anyone who found Liberty City small, in fact I know tons of people who found it too big. Los Santos only appears small because the city is clumped together rather than being split up by massive rivers like Liberty City is.

I have always agreed with this

 

but the more I look at that picture - its like they have been faded out of the picture on purpose.

 

I still think it might be a big factory of farming area. Even Los Santos (could be from the oilfield side of the city - don't think mountains quite match though).

 

I do have a tiny bit of confusion - maybe there is a small city / big town.

 

For buildings to be that big - would have to be a good sized town.

 

Now I am just confusing myself even more - I know there is no more cities BUT . AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH

What part of the map is that? Between Los Santos and Alamo Sea?

To the west of Sandy Shores, near the airstrip.

I tried again to find a match between the hikers mountain from trailer #1 and the mountains around Blaine County, and I think I found a good one.

 

I used a screenshot from the gameplay trailer where you can see a boat near the arched bridge.

I flipped it horizontally, and I noticed that the mountain in the background seems to have a similar top outline than the hikers mountain:

 

 

I think that the mountain from trailer #1 is certainly lower than what we thought first, in fact lower than the Alamo mountain.

And it is possible that the hikers are standing in front of the other side of this mountain.

 

But maybe I completely wrong... What do you think ?

I honestly think it is this group of buildings/factory from different angles.

When seeing the boats map in the upper image again, I realize that there is a lot of green color and only a small area beeing brown = desert not that big as assumed???
