I definitely think we will see at least 1 casino in V.

 

With money playing such a major part in the game it makes sense.

ive always thought the same thing. itll be great to go save your game and then go to the casino and bet a million bucks on roulette or something. if you win then great if not then reload your saved game!lol

The thread hasn't ended. There is no official map yet, until the official map releases the thread isn't dead. Even then it'd be good to keep this thread alive to mark down landmarks and collectibles and other things not seen on the ingame map.

Kudos to all the mappers, really really awesome job. one thing i've been thinking of though, is does the north west side of the map extend more than what is being represented in the fan maps? If you look to the very left of this photo, it almost seems like theres a little bit more land off to the side and also further "back" or north. Especially the little hump with 5 or 6 trees on it way in to the distance, further than Mt.Chiliad/Alamo which is esentially being shown as the 'top' or end of the map. what do you guys reckon?

 

With this and upon re-watching the gameplay trailer on my tv (looks sooo much better than on my laptop), i think the hiking scene maaay be to the "left" or west of paleto (if youre looking at it from franklins parachuting perspective). as the camera turns for a front on view of franklin coming down the mountain you can juust see a bunch of trees and more mountains and peaks (which will be to franklins left or "your" right). I realise theres always more chance that i'm wrong than right, but any thoughts on that?

I've Been a bit busy with work and playing through The Last of Us and the Uncharted games

in my spare time, So I didn't have time to edit my map straight after the trailer came out.

 

This might be my last update. We pretty much have the whole map layout and know where most

places are now, so there isn't much point doing any more. Plus, I wanna save some places to

discover when I get my hands on the game.

 

When I had almost finished editing this map, I realized Paleto was to far to the right, but

I don't have time to correct it, So I've just uploaded it as is. But even with Paleto needing

to be more west, the map should still give you the basic layout of GTA V's map.

Is the same as this mountain here?

If so, I'm not seeing that cabin.

But what about this mountain?

It can't be the same on. It's shaped differently, just look at the distance of the hikers and the mountain. And that vegitation, those trees.

 

I posted this a while ago.

This wasn't mine by the way. What do you guys think?

I have a feeling(A speculative feeling) that mountain from the first trailer will be somewhere in the middle south eastern part of the map that we haven't really

seen much of yet. More forests anyone?

 

We haven't seen that mountain in any other video or screenshots yet afaik..

Sequoia National Park (near Bakersfield also)

By the looks of it. Seems possible.

 

It's Tehachapi Pass Wind Farm, near Bakersfield. Look at the logos on the turbines. They look the same.

 

Sequoia National Park actually is Sierra Nevada's south end.

Not that far from Los Angeles. Southeast of San Gabriel Mountains, but of course they'll shorten them up.

 

So if Sequoia National Park is in the game, we can expect this.

i would bet you anything that we can bet on horse races. couldnt we already do this in san andreas? i figured it was a given as soon as i saw the horse track on the map.

Lots of work to do still. Hopefully by early September I can get something like this online with all the screenshot/video shot locations and information about each place. Speaking of which, does anyone know how to make maps like that? I have no idea where to find an api or anything.

Well you know when The Drought of 2012 happened, I backed off the forums for a while. I've recently started posting on here around the time of the character trailers. Thanks for your help.
