thats what ive been thinking too! definitely agree, but the one thing i cant figure out is if the river/valley (zancudo i think?) thats supposedly on the other side is "big" enough for that picture of the hikers to make sense. Unless the picture of the boat is at the inlet of the zancudo river as opposed to the other one slightly north. dunno haha

I'm assuming this shot is from the east side to the west side of the map. Do you think the map will extend much further east than what this image is or is this shot pretty much next to the ocean? The maps i've seen so far look rather narrow and I would think the map would extend further east than it does in the maps we see already. Let me know what you think!

This is correct in my opinion. I also think the hikers are not far left of this red building maybe a few hundred meters towards Paleto.

Nice. I was thinking a big time about this building/area but i was to dumb to combine this spot.

 

 

It fit to the minimap. Remember the parachute scene N was market right and not exactly N. And here the angel is diffrent so N could be fit.

And the shed will also fit from angel and positiion.

When you say : "Athletic Club Ventura Hotel", is that the Hollywood Athletic Club ?

 

I kinda agree with you about the Equitable Building.

The first one (Athletic Club) is the Sunset Media Tower I believe. The shape is the same but in GTA V, the facade seems older.

And about the third one, CNN Building is a good guess and it would fit with its real life location and size compared to its neighbors.

 

But this particular cluster is really hard to ID...

Any news on Union Station yet? It seems really strange that's not been featured.

I think there is a station alongside the desert airport but you can't really see much.

Another pic with Chilliad, Alamo, or whatever. In this one you can see the distortion of the top viewed mountain and you can imagine the scale with the trees marked with the green square. On the right image, the top of the mountain is still far away, and viewing those trees, I think a long walk trip.

 

The second image correspond to a frame from the gameplay:

I turned the minimap to the north and you can see the shoreline.

I don't know where it could be. My first thought was the western part of alamo sea, but the Zancudo river will not be indicated on the minimap, which is hard to believe... If Trevor (T on the minimap, if not, what T can be??) is at west from this location, maybe near Sandy Shores, the picture could be localized at the east part of the map, and because of all underwater vegetation, I think it could be the sea and not just another lake. The shape of the shoreline "could" indicate an extension of terrain on the east side of the map...

Evidences: Not Zancudo river indicated, Trevor at west (near Sandy Shores or RV parking).

Cuz the paleto heist includes the military gear and the screens from the billboard show us the target is located in this aera.

 

When you need example pics go back the last 50 pages on one of them you will find it. Every asking for things like this let grow up this thread up to 1500 sites befor we reach 17.9....

About the underwater scale, maybe, the slow you move, the smaller the scale, and when diving, you move veeery slow.... besides, we don't have any reference to scale it... it just shows a lot of "details" on mapping.

Small update :

 

Added a bunch of new building around Beverly Hills, Vinewood and just south of Downtown.

Beverly Hills : Two Rodeo, 9595 Wilshire Boulevard, Barney's Restaurant, Wilshire Theatre, Flynt Productions

Vinewood : The Viper Room, Sunset Plaza, Guiness World Record Museum

Downtown : Pacific Financial Center

South Downtown : LAC+USC Medical Center, LAC Parking Garage, 1145 North Mission Road (the LA Coroner should be near this one but I can't include it yet)

Industrial : Cereal Food Processors

 

I changed the color of the green to mark the difference with the desert.

I still need to adjust the limits between desert and plains.

Adjusted the shape of the map to bring it closer to the shape seen in the Paleto Heist board in the Gameplay Trailer.

 

Areas we haven't seen yet include :

- the west coast (Paleto to Los Santos) except Bixby Bridge and the mouth of the Alamo river

- the entire east coast except the lighthouse

- the southern end of Los Santos (docks)

- the Military Base, likely located along the zancudo river

- The northern end of the Land Act Reservoir

 

 

For those asking, Union station still hasn't been seen. I find it weird too cause it's a very iconic building in LA.
