Mapping Los Santos! Building/landmark analysis

Why have we never seen this map of Blaine county before? It looks beautiful, although I think it has quite a bit of speculation. It seems to fit almost perfect, so I'm wondering if it was made AFTER the release of the blueprint map (seems like an impossible mission, time-wise)? Since it has never been posted here, I would like to see the full map of this version, with LS?

 

I'm bummed that R* did not show the entire map. But on the other hand, I'm surprised they even showed a part of it, in full detail. They have a weird way of keeping things secret and then all of a sudden release information like they don't care..

 

Fido, just out of curiosity, why do you want to start all over? I mean the LS roads are mapped now Or do you want to mark each building on the blue print like in your map?

I made it. I've been creating for a while. I was working on the roads when they released the map section, so i've now had to rework a few roads... Well, and the map shape now too. Here's the whole map.

great work fitting the screens together.

 

BUT - I am not sure the road is right. the map is zoomed out so much that the curve you highlighted could be about 2 / 3 blocks long..

I think we need to find a much smaller curved road in the hood. BUT with your great editing of the screens I think it will be possible to locate the house.

Ok, here is my attempt to get a good scale of LS. We know that the empire state building is scaled 1:1, and I think its safe to assume the LS Bank tower is also scaled 1:1.

 

I first proportionately placed a 1:1 scale of the Bank Tower on the appropriate location of the blueprint map.

 

 

 

You can notice in the skydive shot that the tower has a moderate amount of room between the street and the base. I accounted for the space when placing the model on the map.

 

Then I added a 1:1 3d model of LC. The empire state building and LS bank tower are both scaled 1:1 so comparing them should be accuarate. The variances will lie in whether the bank tower is placed on the map correctly.

 

 

 

I double checked everything because LS seemed far too small but this is as accurate as possible using the two buildings as a reference. However, in my final scale comparison I made LS 5% bigger to account for any errors I may have made.

 

 

 

On paper this should be accurate, but the city seems ridiculously small. What do you guys think??

I am cool with this size (if it would be like this). Nearly the same size like LC (LC=the whole IV-map ), maybe a bit taller, we dont know.

from what i get so far, LS city is same size as LC from GTA IV. And that is quite enough if you ask me. Now add a LOT of countryside and small villages, and it's more than enough to fly the hydra around

You have all looked at the city, and you think it looks awesome, but when you look at the size of it, you're not happy..

I just don't understand any of you... At least this city is detailed compared to GTA IV, it's very diverse!

No-one knows anything about Chiliad atm, but judging by the peaks we've seen, the one i named the "Alamo Peak" is probably our prime candidate.

I really hope the game looks as good as that. I imagine it would on next gen.
