I agree but I can't decide where it belongs. I don't think we've seen those electricity towers anywhere else but the west, but they could be hiding somewhere.

I thought this but if It is the west side of zancudo, i just have a problem

to imagine the desert and dry herbs that we have on the picture,

so close to the green vineyard and vegetation.

The other solution is the 2nd big mountain on the east side where vegtation is more similar

Sorry I got confused, I was thinking that's Alamo in the cropduster pic for a second. But it's hard to tell, I think if you got rid of Zancudo in that picture, the side of Alamo would be directly behind it at a similar angle.

I measured land areas to make a scale comparison assuming GTAV's land area equals the sum of the three predecessor maps' land areas and equals 3.5x RDR playable area.

Hey, mates! I've created a panorama from the Michael's trailer. It is view from the runway 3. That was really hard, but I did.    I think this is a good stuff for landmark analysis. Click for zoom. Enjoy!

Yeah,awesome indeed. Why is LS so far away? Is it a good thing or a bad thing guys? Its probably just the hugeness of the city imo.

LS isn't "so far away", it's just camera tricks. Stitching all those frames together into a panorama basically turned it into an ultra-wide-angle shot.

 

If you look at just the part where LS is in the background, and imagine taking a 4:3 piece of that and blowing it up, the city would look a lot closer.

Looks good to me. My map has approximately 15.5 square miles of land. I only mapped what we've been shown so that leaves a few square miles for the areas yet to be revealed.

Anyone know the building I've circled?

 

There's a rectangular building by the Malibu cliff in some screens, but I don't think this can be the same thing, it looks too far inland. It's not the observatory either.

One of them will be the Getty Center but I'm not sure about the other one.

 

New map test, I've marked rectangles for the positions of the two buildings I'm talking about.

 

Oh and I stole Fido's city shape and adjusted it slightly, if it looks familar. I couldn't do better and it fits the LA coastline well.

Ok I'm sure it's been posted in here several times but the user maps keep getting updated and the more time goes on the more these maps resemble the old 'leaked' map-

It's a fake map based on the tear mark in the eflc game manual. The bottom part is a dead give away

This has been around for a long time, it was made by someone on this forum or another gta forum, I forget.

Sorry if this is covering old ground, but I think it's more likely that the Malibu building is Hughes Research Laboratories.

 

 

And the one nearer could be a Getty Center. Those both match their positions relative to the coastline.

Are you sure that isn't the Getty? Look at the circular shape on the left and the box/square like shape on the right, and compare it to the Getty.

 

 

I think that is the Getty, that looks about the place where the freeway (what is the 405 in rl) would cut into the mountains.

No, there's not enough countryside.

 

It seems to be mostly mountains and such, and was really looking forward to the concept of large open forests/deserts. But hell, I'm still happy with what we've got.

Entirely possible. So far, we assumed the Getty was the one visible here and here, southwest of Malibu Hill (the hill closest to the coast).

I don't care if there is only one city as long as they fill the world with things, especially in the countryside. I hope it is littered with settlements, towns, cabins, stuff like that. Someone said in a previous thread how they hoped there would be a snowy area with a ski resort, i think that would be awesome.

I think the same will do a panorama pic from LC airport. Would be a nice comparison how LC would look like at the same angle.
