Mapping Los Santos! Building/landmark analysis

I do not know if anyone noticed this, but the runway number 21 indicates its orientation on the course. Its heading is 210. Draw conclusions, gentlemen. 

 

That's a very nice clue for life. Haven't known that and most here also most likely.

Pretty sure it's the Vincent Thomas bridge in the distance of the Trevor shot?! It's in the first seconds of the trailer. Then the view pans to the left, about 90 degrees, to reveal building B, and turns further to reveal building A. This is all in agreement with the quick sketch I posted a few pages back, and of course the amazing work of others. Excited to hear your opinions!

That thing in front of Trevor with the palm tree sticking up from it looks to be a billboard of some kind. There is one in the car wash scene but I don't think the two are the same.

@Argon: The Carwash is Crenshaw Imperial Car Wash in Inglewood if that helps.

I have my doubts about that sign.

Yes, the Imperial Car Wash seems like a good match but where is the arrow ?

And where is the crown on the ingame shot ?

Look at the square holes on the ramp.

The billboard in the background of this trailer shot is the same as the one on this screenshot. This previous comparison I made links that shot to the now very often seen Beer * Wine store and the unknown church next to it. Meaning that the arterial road that leads to the Forum runs right behind the church. Perhaps people already inferred this from the position of Building A and B that's been talked about for the last couple of buildings, but perhaps it helps to further map the area.

Wow I believe you're correct. That would place the two shots even more close. Maybe Michael is waiting at his car for trevor to come out of the water ?

 

Anyway, I got one more thing to say about the car wash. I think the buildings are obvious, but the water towers have not yet been mentioned. That would place the carwash a bit more accurately.

I therefore stick to my quick sketch I posted earlier. The whole region could probably shift more west, but I believe the general orientation to be correct.

From what we have seen what kind of neighborhoods lie east of the LS river? More hoods or is that more south of downtown/west of the river? What kind of area is it IRL?

I'm pretty sure it's the same stadium (LS Forum). The reason it is more detailed is

1. The game has seen 5 months of work since the last trailer.

2. It is seen from much further away in trailer 2.

Wow you have some eagle eyes there. I would say it is the airport as I personally would place this house/office on the malibu coast area

Wow, I'm far from mapping the countryside right now.

I'm currently making adjustments in Los Santos (airport, venice, Santa Monica, 6th & 4th St Bridges...)

 

I'll start working on the countryside on friday I think.

I'll post a new one in about 2 hours before going to bed.

Damn! The map is way bigger than I expected.

I have a lot less blocks than the real map, I can't fit everything in it.

Everything is compacted between Downtown and th harbor.

I had a feeling we'd come across that issue with previous maps when I was watching the new trailer. Street level like many of us expected shows us just how massive the city is. Looking forward to seeing how your updated one looks though.
