Hmm, shouldn't the golf course be to the left of the observatory (in the main map)? Because from the observatory photo you can see the golf course to the right. Also, between the observatory and the Hollywood hill there's a lake/pond.

It is. I think you are mistaking the Getty Center for the observatory.

What about the Mt. Chilliad? The guys from the first previews told that it will not be at the end/border of the map, it will be somewhere in the middle (they said 1/3 of the map will be behind it, I don't know if the edge team said that). So I my guess is that the map will be significantly bigger than the self created ones by some users as this fact has not been considered in any of those maps. Might be because of the lack of info regarding Mt. Chilliad.

The maps show only what has already been shown in the game. There is no speculation whatsoever.

Yeah this hasn't been placed yet, so it is reasonable to assume that this is on the other side of Chiliad. Also, in trailer 2, the scene where Trevor is climbing onto the train (with the rocket ship in the background), this area also could be north of chiliad as this railway leads to the bridge that he jumps off, which is located at the very north of what we have seen so far.

Yes! Completely unknown terrain! We only know that there will be desert area but the green area has not been shown yet (like Grape seed etc.)... Man, this fact together with the lack of impressions of the underwater design hyped me up again!

Is it possible that these two mountains are the same? The peak seems similar in shape, and the location of the wind farm outside LS would match with this (from the other side of the mountain obviously). The highway shown in the photo could be this:

Hey guys I was trying to get a good sense of the scale of LS so I obtained 1:1 scale 3d models of the empire state building and the US Bank Tower, then I did some image meshing and tried to compare the results. Here is what I got

 

U can see the models are closely scaled to the pictures.

 

 

 

I actually got a rough estimate in feet for scale on this screen

 

 

 

 

 

^^Once I got the perspective to be right it appears to be roughly 11000-12200 ft or about 2.3 miles. Im not certain the depth is completely correct but it seems fairly close.

 

This one is much rougher because of the perspective. I managed to get it close but not exact. Its better if you flip back and forth between images.

I'm sure you mean this picture.

 

It doesn't seem like Mt. Chilliad, though. The mountain in the above screenshot, doesn't seem like it's the same type of mountain with mount Chilliad.

Chilliad is a Grassy and Rocky Mountain.

 

Though, we may be looking at the other face of the Mountain.

 

However, this is mount Chilliad\.

Now, people, get it in your brains, the map is as big or bigger than GTA IV, San Andreas and Red Dead combined, that is massive. Just wait for release. Use this thread how it is supposed to be used, by posting your potential map design. It's supposed to be a thread to keep us occupied whilst waiting for my news, and waiting for release.

 

I didn't expect to return to all of this complaining. The thread was brilliant up until this moment!

There are no complaints about the map size, just the CITY size.

People have tried to worm their way out of it by saying it's not overall map size, but the size of LS that disappoints them.

I think Grapeseed is far north of Los Santos.

 

And sorry Kesta, those mountains don't look the same. I can't imagine the wind farm being that close to the city....

I think it's a decent match. The mountains look similar and the locations would fit pretty well.

Imo grapseed is not in the map we already have. We almost saw only desert when screens where outta los santos.

 

I dont think this farm and all that trees are right next to desert.

U have to look at the dirtbike racing screen, it goes up the mountain with trees.

Imo this huge mountain row ks a transition between desert and sime more countyside like red county in san andreas. So grapseed is behind the mountain wmthey racing in that screen

Alright, not sure if this has been found yet. Now, this isn't completely mapping, but it's a real life counterpart i have found to one of the new screenshots, and it does give us a bit of mapping, with the location of the place.

 

This is that photo of Franklin who his spraying a Mini-Gun at a Coroner's Office (it says coroners on the sign, and ill show you for sure)

 

 

Now, if you look at the building, and then look at the following building, it confirms this is the LA Coroners Office in Downtown LA.

 

 

And now, this is the sign out the front of the coroners office, looks exactly like the GTA V counterpart sign

 

 

and here is confirmation from a Google Images shot, that makes it 100% confirmation that Franklin is firing at a Coroners office. Now, iv'e been speculating, could he be trying to recover a less than 2 weeks old dead body, where Fingerprints could still work on scanners? This could be possible..
