Mapping Los Santos! Building/landmark analysis

I'm going to say that there Is more than likely parts of LS (small maybe) behind Observatory hill, where the studios are based etc, don't give a t0$$ if anyone agree's or not.

 

Also, there Is going to more city sprawl we have yet to see, Compton, Orange, Anaheim, Huntington Etc to the south.

I can see, and so can you . The parachute pic above the CBD shows the docks - the furthest part of the city to be quite close ( minutes drive ) to downtown. We have seen the north and south of the city. We have not seen the extreme east or west , true. But unless R* have created a very oddly shaped LA you CAN extrapolate the city size - MORE OR LESS - from what has been shown. Denialism is strong here.

I'm not in denial at all. The city looks as big as I always expected it to be... and no bigger, because I was anticipating the countryside and whatever else they throw in. It looks about as big as Liberty City which is more than enough for me.

 

If they did an LA life-like, it would be very boring.

You realise that choices in life are not binary this or that ?...a 3 sq mile city like V or a 1000 sq mile one (real life LA). There are many options in between. In fact a 8 sq mile city like LA noire would of sufficed.

Ok I must be being a bit thick and I must admit Iv'e never been to LA but you say we've seen to the south, but Isn't the south of LA Orange etc, correct me If I'm wrong but we have not seen sh*t of that area.

 

Iv'e not read a lot on here tbh (thank fk) lol but the vinwood sign and observatory Is to the north, right? which means the dam area must be East?

 

Downtown area situated In the north parts of LS.

The LA docks are the southern most tip...that is in the screenshots. Compton etc and any other suburb is nestled somewhere in the pics we have seen so far.

personally, I think the docks are south-west-west

observatory north

vinewood north-east-east

dam east-ish

downtown central north

pier northern part of west coast.

 

I don't think we've seen hardly any of the south but that's my opinion.

 

I also think there be a area (very small) to the north behind observatory north-west

I am going by the numerous maps that are almost treated as religous texts on here.

 

Regardless - there may be small parts of the city not in view. I will at least be able to go on long drives in the country, that is not in dispute.

I just don't think the docks are the southern most part of the city. the docks will be situated on that area which stretches out to the south-west. (It kind of bends round)

 

However south to south-east the city will sprawl out further, I don't see any hills or what have you In the way. Iv'e not seen any screens showing this area, or any screens which suggest this area does not exist.

 

This area In real LA will be Anaheim, Westminster, Orange, Huntington and so on. (Orange county)

 

I may not be right but I'm willing to put money on It albeit a very small amount

First of all i would like to show my respect for the users that made a great effort building map based on what we have so far (it's not much). You guys are amazing! It's really hard to think tridimensionally by using a few photos, and if you think that most of them represents the same location on different points of view... wow! Congratulations!

 

Thruth is that for long known reasons, R* is not showing us much. In my opinion, what made SA unique was the "hood" feeling, the 90's atmosphere, rap and hip-hop culture. What we have seen so far: LS downtown (really not as important as LC downtown), some areas of Vinewood, Richman and the portuary facilities. What i really would like to see: Compton and south LA. R* are saving this particular locations. When we finally see them, i guess it will add another 1/3 part to what we have seen so far.

 

I look forward collectibles and easter eggs making a return in V. That said, countryside and ocean/lake floor will represent some hours spent on exploration... it's going to be a lot to do... so stop woring about size!

I'm not entirely mad that he thinks Los Santos is small. It's that he says it over and over like he intends to annoy people. Look at his posts and how much he says its small and that he feels it should be a large bland city. I swear, he said it like 30 times already this month, lol. Sorry for raging but its agitating.
