Huh ? I must have been tired the other day. After verification, there is only one train bridge, you're right.

Still, the theory holds as the train tracks must be going somewhere rather big^^

Yeah I ended up realizing this also. Nevertheless, the fact that there is only one railway passing through the mountains only increases the potential size of the area north of there, as two railways could easily loop around and meet on the other side of the mountain, whereas one sole line would have to stretch way around the map to join up to another track, because as far as we know there are no other railways in this area.

The railway system should be pretty simple with one train track going looping around the map.

Is that the Alamo Sea to the left of the mountain in that pic? If so, I retract my statement about the Alamo Sea being the size the size of 1/3 of GTA IV's map. I am saying that it could be 1/2 of IV's map. I hope to see more of the coastline though. I'm very happy with Rockstar right now.

Yes, the bridge behind the train on the very left side is the one from the latest screen of the Alamo Sea.

Yes exactly. I would estimate that the railway that goes south under the Gerald Desmond Bridge loops around the South and SE of the map, and then presumably loops around the East and North up to the NW and joins with the bridge we have seen at the mountain. Nevertheless, that's a lot of ground we haven't seen any of yet, and a lot more map space beyond the mountain chain at the north end of our constructed maps.

So does anyone have any idea where this area is? I would make a guess and say Grapeseed?

Either the Malibu area or it will be near the game's Palm Springs area... In RL Cali Temecula/Murrieta area (south of Riverside and Palm Springs) have tons of wineries.

Hello, I completed the whole GTA V map in 3D, including mountains and well known landmarks... i've compared my map version with in game pictures, making most possible accurate to the final map... (10 pictures in total, sorry for that many)

WOW!!!

Can you mark the places from the screens on your 3D-Map?

It would be stupid to loop around the map, if there is nothing at the opposite, right ?

To me, it just confirms that there is another city behind those mountains. If there is a railroad, it must lead to somewhere tounge.gif

Quite obvious, no ?? lol

Definitely more settlements. Is it possible that wine country is up there, anyone? Also, just speculation, but this could be one of those settlements, as we haven't been able to place it yet.

Not necessarily another city. It could just loop through all of the small towns/settlements, by/through the military base, and back to Los Santos. I think that's what it's likely to be actually.

Seeing all of this makes me think there's at least 1/3 of the map that we haven't seen.

And imagine what we haven't seen in detail yet, must be at least 95%

Well, when i say city, i m not speaking about something as massive as los santos.

But to me, it would make more sense to have a train passing by 1 huge city, some small towns and a bigger small town.

Was there any screenshots or places in the trailer, that shown the area below the dam? like the Pasadena area?

EDIT: I found out its north-east of the Echo Park in fidos map.

Well, I think that trains will not be a huge part in free roaming. It's not practical like the subway system, where you only had to wait for a short while. If they are going realistic, I expect a loop around the map with only a few trains on them. The trains are probably there for awesome missions and a feeling in general, but not really for practical use. I think there will be a couple of areas where the tracks don't make much sense, as in 'why are we even going this direction'? Red Dead Redemption (IIRC), for example, had this track part in the northern part of Cholla Springs where the track would go into a mountain tunnel for quite a while, only to bend south again and show um somewhere on the MacFarlane Ranch. There was no stop and it was only there for artistic reasons. If I'm pessimistic, I'd say that the track could go into the mountain (as shown on screen) only to bend out on the West or something), meaning there is no region north of the Salton Sea mountains. I WANT there to be a few settlements, though..

I always wonder how people come up with such a comment (talking about the original quote). There is no scaling in the created map. If you would print both out, but one on a bigger paper, would you say 'the map is bigger than the other!!1!'? It has been stated, quoted and proven dozen times that the V map is a few times bigger than the IV map.

Proven? How can u proof it without having the original map...

And u can see on the screens that the scale looky way smaller than most of u think. Los Santos alone cant be near as big as the whole liberty city map.

Compare the screens with some San Andreas screens and u will see that the scale is as big as san andreas at max.

There needs to be a at least another part of the map which is at least as big as this one

I still believe the map posted months ago is real. Like, at least, 75% real.

General outline is similar to that one created here based on the screens. However, several things are incorrect and do not fit the pictures.

This only means the downtown city area of Los Santos is comparable in size to Liberty City. The entire GTAV map is bigger than GTASA, RDR, and GTAIV combined, or about the size of five times the size of GTAIV.

I actually don't think we have seen any areas below the dam. All we have is that dam screenshot from the GI article sadly. Rockstar might be hiding that area until release.

HOW'S ANNIE?

Hey guy's just want to ask is there any evidence to support Malibu being in the game? Just seems as if , scaled down, it would be a pretty fun place to go on a rampage with the hills and such.

The size of Los Santos on it's own is about 1 liberty city and a halve!!!

If you only consider the land and neglect the water, then yes! biggrin.gificon14.gif
