By looking at the windmills it's clear to see that the road is elevated, and it looks like there are 2 separated bridges.

My money is on this place in Palm Springs (I've been convinced we'll be seeing Palm Springs since the start).

I believe that the windmills screen's location is very close to the scene in Trailer #1.

 

Anyways, I hope that brisge in the new aerial river scene is an actual road for cars. This area is drop-dead gorgeous so I want some curvy tarmac roads to run throught it. Not just rail ways and dirt roads. That would suck.

You think it's small because the draw distance is so epic. It's an optical illusion, the map is huge.

Forget the screenshots. V is RDR + IV + SA and that is all you need to know. The map is huge.

I'm not sure how you can complain, the last GTA map we got is absolutely tiny compared to this. And like the other guy said its an illusion because the draw distance is good.

I'm fairly certain they are power lines; they have cropped up in trailer 2 a couple of times (see highway shot in trailer 2 directly after title appears). I noticed that you can see a faint, very large mountain behind the power lines now that you have tinted the pic, which is hidden by fog/clouds in the original pic.

I would doubt that only because we know that the windfarm is a considerable distance away from the supposed mt chiliad

I think so, and I think the river from there runs out through the valley (seen in screens with the trains on the bridge and the parachute) over the waterfall and out towards the sea. At least it looks that way from the screens.

Holy crap this map is really huge.. if that's the alamo then Los Santos is faar up back behind those massive mountains and then there's an even larger mountain chain all behind the camera in that pic...

 

 

I have a feeling this is even going to make even Skyrim feel small.. The amount of mountains visible is amazing

It could be, but if it is, there's something that doesn't make sense to me. Looking at the waterfall in the screenshots below, you can determine the water is flowing from the large body of water into the river.

From IGN - "the Alamo Sea is a putrid, salt-rich lake"

 

If the Alamo Sea is the source of the river, then the river would also be putrid salt water and that seems unlikely. Also, if that much water is flowing out of the Alamo Sea, then there has to be that much water flowing into the Alamo Sea to keep it from drying up. That source would also need to have a high salt content. Where would all of that saltwater come from?

 

The Salton Sea doesn't have an outflow which is why the salinity increased so much. The body of water in the screenshots has an outflow which would prevent it from becoming salt-rich. That's why I think that it might not be the Alamo Sea.

I think you're right Choco. Looking at 4 screens right now, (Franklin on the 4x4, Trevor & the Church town, Alamo/Mt. Shot, & the Newest one) And it appears that the Alamo Sea has a muddy/murky color to it. While the new screen shot shows a more blue tint to it. My my......we have very big map if these two are not connected.

Since it is a video game they probably did not want to re-create the minutea that is East Hollywood-Westlake and the Westside (i.e. endless blocks of apartment buildings / single family homes without major landmarks) - it's sort of like if Los Angeles was shrunk down to the size of San Francisco. I think it is pretty cool.
