Is this Angel Pine? Look at the church:

I absolutely don't get this pic :

 

 

Looks like the sun is setting so we're looking west.

But it seems to be the same direction as the following screen BUT on this one we're looking south-east.

 

 

So I don't get it 

 

I think the first pic is really looking west and so we have the Venice/Harbor area all wrong...

Actually, I think it makes total sense. Take a look at this (very bad) sketch. Yellow=Bridge, Brown=Highrises.

That's the same water tower... so the second picture is made from the harbor, looking towards downtown.

Looks like the Vernon Water Tower...

the pic of Trevor walking up the street with what looks like Mt Chiliad in the background - would you say the camera is facing southeast at that point? It looks like morning - the sky is bluer than all the afternoon/evening pics we've seen

I don't think so, Angel Pine was in a forest area while this town is in the Salton Sea (desert) area, on the other hand, both are close to Mount Chilliad so maybe your right.

The location of Mt.chilliad is totaly wrong

 

I couldn't find those f*cking GI screens but there is one whish proofs that there is no land behind the vinewood hills *north direction*!!

Wow u got it! Anyway that industrial zone amazed me, some new factories and stuff we didnt see in IV I guess.. yes.. there were also in Broker, but this looks like massive industry and it's still alive..

 

Actually, the industrial area in South Alderney (New Jersey) was quite big. But what amazes me is the increased drawing distance. There was no way in IV to see so much of the city in one shot, and the evening smog makes it all look really good.

Of course I can't speak for Fido_le_muet (who made the map), but I'd say it doesn't claim to be accurate with regards to remote areas. The prison (?) and radar array (?) from the image you've linked are on the map though.

if i had to guess at this point, i'd put Mt Chilead more over on the eastern side of the map, and have the river for the reservoir and the dam overlooking LS running down from it or the surrounding hills. south of this i'd put the desert, leading to the edge of the Salton Sea area, which may be a separate inland sea from the pacific. obviously you wouldn't be able to go all the way round the inland sea - it'd be like the lake net to Blackwater in RDR...

All we know about that one is that the helicopter is right in front of the Vinewood Sign. We've seen a lot of what's left/south of this, but hardly anything further right/north. There seems to be more coast there, but that's about it.
