I don't think so man, the area with the beach gym is by the Santa Monica Pier or whatever it's called in game, the other shot is by the Vincent Thomas Bridge, leading to the docks. close but no win, sorry.

Are you for real?

Of course they are both same area.

Damn right its the same area. The blue angled railings, the bench, the trash bin, its all there.

alright guys, we're taking the Vincent Thomas Bride to the middle of the damn ocean! (y)

Wtf you going on about? lol. I'm assuming that, to the right of the screenshot, is where the beachfront is. This looks exactly like the real life location from what I've seen.

You can see the bridge in the background which is at the docks area

yeah, I'm for real, can you see the Vincent Thomas Bridge anywhere in the beach gym screenshot? can you see the building behind it in the Vincent Thomas Bride screenshot?

The camera is facing the other way, DARREL! Can you see me typing this behind your computer screen?

the Vincent Thomas Bridge is in Long Beach, leading southish from LA, the scene with Muscle Beach is in the west, you can clearly see the pier in the background of the Muscle Beach screenshot, there is no chance in hell the Vincent Thomas Bridge is anywhere near the Muscle Beach, they might be the same Gym name and styling, but it's nowhere near it. and from the angle in the Muscle Beach screenshot, if that was where the Vincent Thomas Bridge was, we'd be staring straight down it.

Thus it clearly IS the same place we saw in the trailer. As has been pointed out several times here already.

No. The WHOLE map is compared to RDR+IV+SA.

No, not the whole map, but the city os Los Santos with interiors is comparing to these 3 games map combined.

Including the underwater area, I think. But here the exact line from the preview to clear up further confusions:

"When you include interior and exterior spaces together, Los Santos is bigger than the worlds of Red Dead Redemption, San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto IV combined, with room to spare[...]"

Then there a list of following areas which will appear in V so far: beachfronts, wine county, large wilderness, Mount Chiliad, Salton Sea (this is awesome, look up some videos about this), a military base and some towns. Also a desert (where Trevor lives in his trailer) and more.

And here the part about being able to (scuba) diving:

"Bring you scuba equipment, too, because you can even explore the fully detailed ocean floor along the Los Santos coastline."

"[...] beachfronts, wine country, a large wilderness, area surrounding a fully explorable Mt. Chiliad, a Salton Sea region, a military base.. [...]"

"[...] rivers, coastline, countryside, hills, mountains, canyons, deserts, wetlands, forests, and all the little towns.. [...]"

I am speechless, really. The map is going to turn out great.

I actually expect no island like San Andreas though.

Hang on, does that mean JUST Los Santos is gonna be bigger than RDR, SA and LC combined? Because from what I've been seeing, I can say, that's a f*ckload of interior space...

Only thing that does not appear to be there is the lamp post. Might be on the other side of it though.

The article used the word "including" though at the end of that sentence.

"When you include interior and exterior spaces together, Los Santos is bigger than the worlds of Red Dead Redemption, San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto IV combined, with room to spare including..." And then listed all those areas (wine country, wilderness, mount chiliad)

So what exactly do they mean? They said Los Santos yet they say it's including wine country, wilderness, mount chiliad and etc etc. So perhaps they don't mean just Los Santos but the whole map. That is what's confusing me. Because if they just meant Los Santos shouldn't they have used the word excluding and not including at the end of that sentence?

Dude, you are delusional. That is the same gym and beach seen in Trailer 1. The bridge, as you even mentioned, is at a different body of water further south. The map is just condensed in a way that you can see the bridge from here in the pic..... The bridge is NOT on the beach

Not sure if trolling almost.

I know I haven't posted anything but I'm working on it.

I identified two new buildings in the various screens :

- Brook Brothers (a shop in Beverly Hills, near Rodeo Drive) in the screen with the flip-flop guy on the bike...

Rodeo Drive :

Brook Brothers, Stefano Ricci (via Rodeo), Wilshire Beverly Hotel (Pretty Woman)

I notice that the Blimp is not in this or any of the new screenshots, I wonder what that means. Maybe they ended up removing it?

That's a nice dirt road

Could this topic be updated to include a list of in game locations (neighbourhoods etc.) and their real life counterparts perhaps??

This might have been said already, and if so I apologize.

That looks like the Harbor Freeway (110 Freeway) down there, running past the rounded glass building which is most likely the Westin Bonnaventure Hotel.

Some quick notes yesterday before sleeping (North of Downtown, Beverly Hills, Hollywood):

It's the north of downtown so the construction site is the one next to the City Hall (not the High Miles Club).

I think it's the same place as well.

Map is coming along nicely.

Currently reworking the areas of Beverly Hills and North Los Santos.

Sorry for the stretch.... but what do you think this is?  I made a little graphic to give my opinion.

-snip-

IDK but GI said there's an army base or a sh*t like that so maybe it's that, even if it's not in the city. The towers all around makes me think it could be that.

There is a huge map so why did they put military base nearby the Los Santos area? It would be some living area or so.. Is there anybody from LA who can recognize that place?
