Baron-Samedi
Do you think we can traverse this mountain fully? -or- Will it, to a certain extent, be unpassable, or have some invisible wall like in RDR? My theo is if therse a jet..... there is a chance for us to climb those rocky's
Puma06111991
There are planes, so you could just fly over it. Rockstar wouldn't make some stupid invisible wall, because that would crash your plane. They said they were going to make a massive map, so why not be able to climb or do whatever with the mountain? It's a f*cking great idea to make the player not be able to discover the whole map! At some point, you just get the ability to access the airport, like in SA, and fly over it to reach the next part of the map. Probably not, but dreaming is not a crime . JoshGTAfreak
I don't know why everyone cares about this mountain so much. I mean, it will be great if it's able to be to scaled. If not, meh, I'll just go crazy in the city like I'm supposed to I'm not sure actually. I think most of us that are focusing on the mountain are just tired of the whole city scene; after all, we've been stuck in Liberty City for four years now. I guess that the mountain being inaccessible wouldn't be that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things, but for those of us country/desert lovers, it'll be the second major blow (after hearing that Los Santos is the only major city, although that didn't really bother me personally). I guess you're right. I mean, I love countryside, but at the end of the day, it can be kind of annoyingly deserted and take for ever to get out if you crash. I guess it's just a matter of personal taste really
zakace
If you think about it, if theres planes you would just be able to fly around the mountain so i dont see why they would make it not possible to climb over

DeeperRed
hopefully theres just vast desert behind it, maybe even endless ala the sea.
Ispintechno
Red Dead did not have airplanes, helicopters, 4x4 trucks, dirtbikes, ATVs etc. plus they show people with hiking gear in the very first trailer... c'mon guys, stop complaining about the improbable. Look at the smooth clearly drivable/ everything-able surface on the mountain... you really think your gonna hit an invisible anything in GTAV? Puma06111991
Here's my theory: In the real world, you have to get over the mountains to reach the desert and the Palm Springs windmill park. My guess is that it will be in the actual game too, so YES, I think you will be able to get over the mountains. ? Seems very plausible and logical to me. By the way, I'm starting to think more and more that the GTAV map will have a massive, fantastic landscape aside from Los Angeles. Imagine that Rockstar used a map setup similar to the actual geological positions of the different map elements... Would be beautiful ... GRINCH ASS BITCH
By the way, I'm starting to think more and more that the GTAV map will have a massive, fantastic landscape aside from Los Angeles. Imagine that Rockstar used a map setup similar to the actual geological positions of the different map elements... Would be beautiful ... I feel the same way, although most of the other members of the forum keep trying to tell me that Los Santos is going to take up the majority of the map, and that "there would be no reason to add that much country/desert." I've got a feeling that Los Santos is only going to take up about 1/4th (1/3rd at the most) of the map. Speaking of in-game locations and their real-world counterparts, I'd like to see Rockstar's version of Laguna Beach and all the other small, super rich communities. I'd also like to be able to buy some real estate there

Puma06111991
Yes, but the mountain in San Andreas wasn't a border or something like that, it was just a f*cking ugly pile of rocks in the middle of some f*cking forrest, lol. Compare this: To a pile of sh*t: You just can't deny that there are a lot of similarities, lol . I've got a feeling that Los Santos is only going to take up about 1/4th (1/3rd at the most) of the map. I already lost hope in Rockstar making San Andreas with three big cities. One big city that takes up 1/10th of the total landscape would be great. If they have a good storyline and an awesome landscape, it could be enough to make up a fantastic game. Some place where you can drive for an hour and not cross the same road twice, enjoying the drive through the game... DarrinPA
I'm sure R* knows about the ablities of the members here and other players world wide. They wouldn't create a barrier that we are going to break past within a week of the game's release.
Breaking Bohan
R* would have to let you hike up the mountain. Why the hell would they show backpackers in the trailer looking at the mountain if it was off-limits? The protag needs to be free to roam the countryside and climb hills and mountains. Showing something awesome like a mountain but then senselessly limiting the players freedom of movement is only going to frustrate gamers and lead to endless griping on forums. fitbikesbmx
An idea I have is that maybe we could see something similar to Battlefield 3. You can fly over the mountain(S) but if you try to pass them on foot you would just die. Even if you parachute out, you'd still die. That said, I still think that massive mountain is there for a reason. Honestly, I mean, seriously, why would Rockstar take up that much space in the game and do that much work making such a beautiful mountain only to make it totally inaccessible? I'd prefer not even having it there if that was the case. I still hold hope that this mountain is hiding something behind it, but I could be wrong.
