Look what I found!

So i've been playing abit with the Vapid Stanier and i tried something new...

Now that the new trailer has been released you can see that the cop cars have not changed one bit from GTA IV, well, I take that back, they have new gay light bars and are a different color. They stil

I don't mind that as much as I really hope they keep the ghetto in the game. Even if you can't do gang wars, I hope you still see gangs on the street in the ghetto area, because if they wouldn't, it just wouldn't feel like Los Santos.

More realistic emergency vehicles are a must in this day and age, they looked really poor in previous GTA's and as shown by many people on youtube that they arnt hard to do, some look really amazing!

I want this 4 police cars in the game (of course besides the FCV body-like car already in the game).

Hare we have the new Chevy Caprice:

Rockstar Games - if you pull this up, I'll buy GTA V on PS3 and PC biggrin.gif, just sayin'

Ok guys, I don't know how long the rest of you have been GTA fans but I've been a fan since GTA1 basically...

And from my experiences following GTA3, Vice City, San Andreas and IV all during their dev periods, I can tell you that what you see in the trailers is what you'll get in the game.

By the time Rockstar shows us in game clips, the game is at a pretty advanced point where major things WILL NOT BE CHANGED.

From the trailer we saw the "Crown Vic" type police car. Expect it to appear in 5 looking exactly like this. The lightbar on top will be as you saw it and there won't be any additional emergency lights apart from what was in the trailer (unfortunately).

We saw the ambulance. Expect that to be exactly as seen in the trailer as well.

The only hope that we have is for things that haven't been seen. Since the Impala type police car from IV has been updated (in real life) since that time, we may expect a refreshed version. Whether that's based on the newer Impala or the Caprice, I'm not sure. BUT, I really doubt it will be the Caprice because only really hardcore police vehicle fans like us know about the new Caprice. Rockstar North does GTA games and they are based in the UK. So it's unlikely they are following the latest American police car developments. Furthermore, the Caprice still has a while to go before you start seeing police forces using them en masse. The Crown Vic and old Impala were more "iconic" and more identifiable.

But yea, I've spent the last decade watching trailers for new GTA games and hoping that by the time I'm playing the actual game, they will have changed whatever I was disappointed with initially. And from my experience, it has never happened.

For other police vehicles, expect a SWAT mule like the one from IV. Expect a Charger type FIB car. Expect some sort of SUV police car like the NOOSE Hummer. It may or may not be a Hummer as the "Noose Hummer" was kind of a NYPD/9-11 over reaction satire. So whether they carry that over in San Andreas, possibly not.

Also, it's possible that there will be a police motorcycle since there was one in TBoGT, PLUS, they made a big deal about "motorcycle cops" making an appearance in GTA: San Andreas. The fact it was missed in GTAIV was noticed.

LoneWolf, I have a fantastic idea: A petition. Everbody, who wants new police cars, just post they nickname into this topic. When we have many signatures, you could sent this mail again and mention, how many people that read in THIS topic, want to have new police cars and copy and paste the signatures.

What do you think?

Some just don't deserve to be a cop, or breathe.

Just out of curiosity, why is it that you think some cops need to die? Im guessing that you did something wrong and a cop had the nerve to *GASP* do his job and arrest you! How DARE he uphold the law?! Couldnt he see that you were just having fun?!

Yeah, but some (it'd be unfair to say all) police officers really are pigs. They overanalyse and see problems in everything and everyone, even when there isn't one to be seen. I don't have a criminal record at all, but I was stopped by the police for sitting somewhere alone at night smoking a cigarette and texting my friend after a night-out, immediately they demanded my personal details (name, age, address) and when I simply asked "why?" I was threatened with arrest for obstructing them. I was also nervous, apparently this is a sign you're on drugs according to some police officers, so they also searched me and started looking where I'd been sitting.

They found nothing, but without even explaining themselves, they just hopped back in their van and sped off. This is only one small incident, but still. There are plenty perfectly law abiding people who are weary of the police. It's nice to imagine that they are really your friends and there to help, but in real-life, they're there to arrest people and get convictions. Convictions help police officers advance their careers and also make the force look good. If they were this perfectly altruistic organisation there to find real justice then lawyers/solicitors wouldn't have to warn you not to speak to the police without legal advice out of fear that they will twist your words and bully you into confessing charges (whether true or not).

I hope GTAV cops cars look like those.

Sadly, that's not going to happen. What you saw in the trailer is probably going to be the final cop car. I may be wrong though...

Who cares we will be running away from the cops not being one in GTA V. (unless LCPDFR returns on PC V)

Subject: Police Vehicles in Grand Theft Auto V

Rockstar Games,

I saw the announcement trailer for GTA V and can't wait! I only saw one thing in the trailer that I believe needs to be changed before the final release however. The police cars are the same as GTA IV which is old looking and boring. A massive percentage of the GTA community is eager for a change in the emergency vehicle systems in the game. As you can see by the PC versions of your games the emergency vehicles are always the first thing that players mod. Not to mention that there are also huge numbers of online players that participate in "Public Safety Clans." The police vehicles, ambulances, etc should be based off of more recent vehicles and if possible made as similar to the real deal as possible to add to the realistic feeling. For example some 98-11 body style Crown Vics would be nice and definitely lots of LED lighting. Online public safety game modes where players could play out realistic scenarios as police officers, EMT's, and fire fighters would also be an incredible addition.

Thank you for your time spent reading this message out of your busy schedules.

Regards,

Andreas Jacobsen

If you want more models of Police car, there is still hope. In GTA IV, you had the Vapid police car, the Declasse police car, the Department of Immigration car, NOOSE truck etc... we had to wait until the fourth trailer to see a Declasse police car (in the first three, we could only see the Vapid one, pretty much like with V). So I guess we just have to wait, I'm sure there will be more police cars.

how naive are you guys to think you can change ANYTHING by sending a stupid mail to them? i mean, maybe you guys sent like 20-50 mails in total... wow, really, that much? why do you even care, as soon as modding gets possible (and its high likely to be soon, causei guess it will be the same format as IV) you will get you highly detailed and great police cars without "gay" lightbars...

I'm truly amazed at the pecimists that are emerging. You are ALL wrong. These are minor changes that can be made in a very short period of time and the fact that nothing has been changed before in the past is due to the fact that no large groups of people ever spoke up about anything needing changing. That's the reason why R* is reading the emails personally. So keep your pecimistic view points to yourselves and go post your negativity elsewhere.

Oh and BTW, if you read all of the posts you would know there are likely hundreds or possibly even thousands of emails sent so far, not just 20. Cause I even know several people off the internet who have sent them emails and based on the number of posts and views of this thread if others have done the same then your talking some numbers.

Wouldn't it be great if mister Negativity would be proved wrong and we'd end up having awesome emergency vehicles with authentic lightbars in the final version of the game?

You better tell Rockstar to change Police and other Emergency Vehicles before it end of year when they hitting beta stages.

I hope that the ambulances will also be changed. Its very important, that all of the lightbars and flashing lights would also work, not that they would be useless decorations like in GTA IV.

sorry, but no, im just staying REALISTIC... as stated before, they get hundreds of mails and they wont just change the lightning or anything, because you write them some mails... you are like "oh yea, i got a reply, that means it will be in!!!!!!!!!!!!"... if you havent noticed, all the replies are pretty much the same, standard procedure... but yea, maybe ask Santa to convince R*, i bet he will succeed
