Yuck! You could play checkers on those cars! I would never want that in any GTA. And whats up with the yellow?

Its called Florescent Reflective Battenburg. Its applied to all Emergency Vehicles in the UK, it allows motorists and pedestrians to view the emergency vehicles more clear and visible.

 

Police are - Blue + Yellow

Ambulance are - Green + Yellow

Fire & Rescue are - Red + Yellow

 

 

 

I would disagree, I find the Layout attractive as most UK people would say, It's all a matter of choice rather...

 

 

 

EDIT - Yellow is there because its scientifically proven as the colour that attracts the eye the most... again making it more visible.

In my opinion the Met "Sandwich" layout is not as attractive as the Battenberg, especially on the Astras.

Back on-topic, if we're talking about making EM vehicles more interesting then how about updating the ambulances and fire engines/trucks.

 

All the GTAs in 3D seem to have almost exactly the same ambulance/fire models with different paint jobs and lighting layouts. They just don't feel individual.

also i like the police SUV from GTA san andreas and FBI buffalo form GTA iv to be in GTA V

I have been a huge fan of the Grand Theft Auto series since GTA III, it has been the game franchise I have grew up playing simply because of the vast worlds you create to allow me to do whatever the hell I like, which is something I love to see in games. However, I am a sucker for emergency vehicles and I have always felt they have lacked in Grand Theft Auto, or any game for that matter. The only way people have been able to get the ideal outcome I would like is through modding on a PC, which sadly I don't have a PC Capable enough of running GTA IV.

 

Anyway, I just reach out and ask that you could make the lighting systems on your emergency vehicles a bit more in-depth, I mean, I would love to be able to put my lights on without sirens, and have the choice between different lighting settings. It would also be real cool if the Vigilante missions actually allowed us to persuit law-abiders without getting a wanted level for helping the law.

 

Anyway, I highly anticipate GTA V and I would like to congratulate you on taking over the Gaming World for the day, it truly was an amazing trailer to look forward to and I even made myself popcorn to eat whilst watching. You have truly done an amazing job(from what I can see) on the game I honestly can not wait to seem even a glimpse of what is to come.

That is my email to rockstar, I have emailed them before and received replies. They are a friendly bunch, and care about their fanbase even though sometimes it may seem otherwise.

 

Anyway, I am fine with the cars I just want to see the features for lighting from LCFR added and something more added with the vigilante missions, I would be a very happy bunny if that happened.

I hope their are multiple police car types, like the LCPD had. Sadly, the LAPD is a Crown Vic dominated force, though they have a few Chargers. If we are lucky, and their are state police or county sheriffs, we might see some variety in cars.

Just so you don't all get your hopes up... i'm pretty rubbish at maths, but i think i've calculated here that us lot represent roughly 0.001% of the GTA community (based on roughly 20m sales of GTA4). I'm not sure they care about us 0.001%

We do not feel they suit the era that GTA5 is set in, as the police car model and lightbar has not changed since GTA4 which itself was already using outdated looking Police vehicles. On GTAForums.com, there is already a thread with 100's of replies about the Police vehicles in GTA5, and we've only seen 1 minute of the game!. There is a huge community out there that loves the emergency vehicles, and the very first thing they do on the PC version of GTA is mod them to there likening, there are literally thousands of modded police cars - it would be fantastic if we didn't need to do this because they were at a great standard to start with.

 

I hope you understand our concerns over the police cars and there lightbars, and we would appreciate it very much if you took this into consideration.

While we may be 0.1%, if we're the loudest and first to get in touch about the game, then we could be the most valuable people to Rockstar.

 

 

Fact is, if we're sending emails, all personalised and asking for a similar thing, they should take notice. Fair enough, if we all copy/pasted the same email it'd look lazy and it could just be the one person doing it over and over, but because we're all writing our own unique ones, and all asking for something that's not too irrational (lightbar effects shouldn't be a huge deal, though I do think it's a bit late in the day to be asking them to change the body style of any cars in the game) I think Rockstar may very well take a bit of notice.

 

 

I used to work in a very large company that sold products to millions of people across the world. Their motto was "one email is one million people's opinion". They thought like this because not everyone complains. A lot of people just stop buying a product and never let the manufacturer know why.

 

The fact that we're providing good, constructive feedback to a specific area within their game, in a level-headed and respectful manner should really stand to us here.

 

If I were the guy cycling through the hundreds upon hundreds of emails that come pouring in every day, I think I'd rather read a sincere email about an aspect of the game that is important to someone, rather than a hundred "y u no cj!?" type emails.

 

 

All we can do is hope, and continually contact them asking for them to take us into consideration.

 

PC Modders change lightbars straight away, and there are thousands of videos online just displaying this type of thing, so our argument has a good backdrop and will carry a bit of weight if we can be polite and sincere, in my opinion.

 

 

 

 

I could be completely wrong, of course, but that'd be my opinion and take on it. I'd love to see it implemented, but at the end of the day, Rockstar are giving us a game that will provide us with countless hours of entertainment. If it doesn't have new lightbars, or if it doesn't have San Fierro, or if it doesn't have multiple playable characters, or if it doesn't have interiors, etc. it's still a truly amazing technological feat, and something that a group of people have worked very strenuously on to ensure that people around the world will have something to enjoy and to occupy their time with.

 

When you actually stop and think about it; it's a gigantic challenge and a huge project to be able to pull off. Rockstar create a diverse and realistic sandbox simulator for us. If they can change a few things for us, to add a new layer of enjoyment and a new depth of reality to the game, then that would be absolutely amazing. If they can't or don't, at least we tried asking them, and I'm sure the game will still be great fun to play.

 

The fact that there's a human sitting looking at our emails tells me that Rockstar cares, at least somewhat, about our opinions.

I think you are probably correct there, actually. Though i don't think it's to late in the game to change car models. They are a good 6months away, plenty of time to put in new car models if they saw fit. And lets not beat around the bush, car models in GTA are hardly approaching the ones you see in half decent racers like Need For Speed, let alone the top ones such as Forza 4 and Gran Turismo 5. They are just not comparable, and they won't take 1/5th of the time to do. They are of a decent standard perfectly adequate for a game like GTA.

 

I suspect they are very, very busy however. I'd think altering police car models is somewhere right at the bottom of the list of things to do (Not that it's even on the list). I'm the first to admit there are a lot more important things for them to do in the game.

 

We can all hope though. I'd be super happy if i launched GTA5 to be greated by some high quality modern police car models, and a better lightbar / lighting effect.

 

Has anyone done some testing on how adding some complicated lighting to cars affects framerates ? If you have 10 police cars on screen all with fancy lighting, well.. i don't think these old consoles will be too happy about that That in itself is a very likely reason for the effects being so basic.
