The fact that we post all of these pictures, and that people don't read and just go ahead and re-post them pisses me off. We cover so many topics about all of this stuff, we come to a little poll and either agree or disagree if we like the car or not. Why do we have these people just come in here and start re-opening closed cases? Sure, if you go back and read a little about it, you can add a comment or say something you disagree about that hasn't already been said. But don't come in here and start talking about the old topics that we already brought up three months ago. There will be NO exotic police cars. We already talked about all of this with the ranger, and all you need to do is click that button with the arrows pointing to the left (<<), go back, and start some reading.

i want to see a cop car as a lambourgini or ferrari or what ever GTA calls them catspider.gif

All I can say about you is that you're very stupid. bored.gif

Calling someone you dont know stupid online...

Altair, Its just unrealistic, maybe in saints row but R* is all about realism as they claim, its highly unlikely.

Lamborghini cop cars are definitely not unrealistic.

A Lamborghini cop car in Los Angeles though? That's another story.

No, they are NOT realistic. Police vehicles need to suit the operational needs of a modern police department. You can't curb-hop in a Lamborghini. You cannot drive an expensive exotic sports car around for police duties, you would be spending too much time making sure it doesn't get damaged. Completely unrealistic. That Italian Lamborghini police car ended up being destroyed in a collision. A huge waste of money and not appropriate at all for general duties policing. A lot of people seem to think that police departments can just go out and buy exotic cars to use as everyday vehicles. Wake up and smell the coffee!

Cheers!

I think you got it all wrong, let's see the definition the free dictionary gives for unrealistic:

un·re·al·is·tic (nr--lstk) adj. Not compatible with reality or fact; unreasonably idealistic

Exotic police cars are not unrealistic because as I already proved they exist, and are being used by police departments.

I think what you're trying to say is them not being unrealistic, but rather them being impractical.

im·prac·ti·cal (m-prkt-kl) adj. Unwise to implement or maintain in practice.

Simple word can make all the difference.

Cheers!

Anyone else besides me wants the Police Ranger to be back?

I'd rather see a CHP (SAHP) Modern Tahoe.

user posted image

Yes yes I know that CHP is mostly (but not exclusively) highway patrol, but I think R* can make a fictional "San Andreas State Police" so that they can justify the use of these vehicles in rural areas. Also, some states in the United States, they don't just have a "Highway Patrol" but actual police departments that patrol the whole state.

We all know that they exist. They are in fact NOT realistic for a Grand Theft Auto game. Sure, modern departments use them, and they are nice to own, but they still aren't made to police a metropolitan city such as Los Angeles or New York City. They are active in Germany, and most highways, the Autobahn being one of them. Most metropolitan cities are made of streets and curbs and off-road terrain. It's very self explainable, yet I still want to baby you around by saying that me and Officer620 are right, and YOU, Sir, are in fact wrong.

But that's where you're wrong GTA is a video game where you can rain death and destruction with a military chopper, you can go around the city in an APC wreaking havoc, you can walk down the street with 10 guns in you pants, and yet you say an exotic police car would be too unrealistic for this game?

Well, Mr. Party Pooper, sure they might not be used in cities, (please refer back to my original post where I actually said that exotic police cars in LA are a no-no), but guess what?

We will have countryside this time, and I'm guessing that will include extensive highways, perfect for high speed chases, imagine it, you're in a Super GT running away from officers in specially marked "High Speed Pursuit" Turismos, or are you gonna try and say that would not fit in GTA? Do you also by any chance, hate fun?

Plus GTA IV already had higher end police cars, with the LCPD Police Stinger, which guess what is not actually based on any car used in real life by the NYPD

I'd like to see a good variety of police vehicles. Such as those that will remind us of the latest model Crown Victoria/Chevy Impala/Dodge Charger, Ford Expedition/Chevy Tahoe, Ford F150/Chevy Silverado. And a Chevy Camaro/Dodge Challenger-like high-speed pursuit police vehicles would be cool.

I'm not really a fan of the exotic sports cars, but as long as they're not all over the place, I'm not against them.

Also would like to see the SWAT van and motorcycles.

Why not it only makes sence to use Crown Vic's, it's what they use and I'm possitive they'll have other cop cars too.

Wow, a smart a**. No, YOU are wrong. Even by your definition it is unrealistic because police cannot afford exotic sports cars, they cannot accommodate our equipment or prisoner transport systems, etc. But most of all they are unrealistic because we CANNOT AFFORD THEM. That means they are impractical in reality. Real cops in the US use powerful, 4 door, rear wheel drive, American cars. I know because I am one, and sure it would be cool if some billionaire donated one to my department, but we would never in a million years buy one even if we could afford it.

Wow, a smart a**. No, YOU are wrong.

ugh

Even by your definition it is unrealistic because police cannot afford exotic sports cars, they cannot accommodate our equipment or prisoner transport systems, etc.

I've already posted a link that shows many police precincts all over the world with exotic sport cars.

But I'll post it again, here.

That's just a handful of I am sure many other exotic cop cars that exist.

But most of all they are unrealistic because we CANNOT AFFORD THEM.

If you read the link I have posted many times you will see two different US police precincts have made the list, Bloomfield Hills, MI with a Corvette and South Carolina with a Dodge Viper and I'm sure there are others.

And besides, just because your HQ can't afford an exotic unit doesn't mean that NO OTHER POLICE FORCE IN THE WORLD CAN'T AFFORD THEM EITHER.

Real cops in the US use powerful, 4 door, rear wheel drive, American cars.

And that's true, but please noticed that the Dodge Viper used in SC and MI Corvette are 2 doors

I know because I am one, and sure it would be cool if some billionaire donated one to my department, but we would never in a million years buy one even if we could afford it.

And that's good for you, I like cops, but just as I said, just because you can't afford something doesn't mean no one else can't afford it either.

And yes, as I have said a million times, exotic police cars in GTA V would freaking obviously not be used in the city, but rather for high speed chases on highways/countryside etc.

Oi, Newtype Arse, no one here was trying to deny the existance of such cars, stop taking things out of proportion. If you agree that exotic cars are not an appropriate option for operational police duties, then stop your whinging.

How many times have you been pulled over by a police officer driving a Lamborghini? Have you ever actually seen one for yourself, apart from internet pictures?

The reason for this is because they are not suited to the type of work policing subjects them to. When used for highway patrols even, they are likely to end up looking like this:

These vehicles are purchased by police departments to be used for either promotional value or to increase public relations.

Actually that particular lambo police car (which is in italy) was a gift from lamborghini.

Lamborghini donates the new "Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia" to the Italian State Police A private ceremony was held today at the Viminale Palace where Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. donated a police version of the company's newest super sports car, Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia, to the head of the Italian State Police

I'm whining because some of you are too frusking dense to realize that exotic police cars, unrealistic or realistic, impractical or practical, are actually a good idea for GTA, but never mind that, because obviously a specially marked LSPD Turismo or Coquette is not realistic, but a Harrier Jet flying in the middle of an urban metropolis and then attacking it is.

How many times have you been pulled over by a police officer driving a Lamborghini? Have you ever actually seen one for yourself, apart from internet pictures?

No, I have never seen an Lamborghini police car ever, but truth be told I have never even seen a Lamborghini in my country either, I live in the DR and the only "true" exotic I ever see are Ferraris.

The reason for this is because they are not suited to the type of work policing subjects them to. When used for highway patrols even, they are likely to end up looking like this:

Poor car, anyways, yes it's true most of the extotics are mostly used for promotional values, but just for fun, here's a couple of examples of Exotic or other unusual Police Cars used daily by Police Forces on the US and Canada (source)

-The North Vancouver regional detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) use a number of impressive vehicles including Jaguars, Land Rovers, and Volkswagens.[21]

-The Montville police department uses a 1974 Chevrolet Corvette for high-speed pursuits. (Classic American Muscle icon14.gif )

-The Holly Springs Police Department uses a Porsche 944 as their Police Explorers unit.

-The Bloomfield Hills police department has several Chevrolet Corvettes.

-The Wake County Sheriff's office use a Corvette Z06 That was seized from drug dealers

And the countless other exotics used in European countries...

Note: See how I did not deny the existance of these vehicles......

I never said you did though, with you I was only arguing about whether exotic police cars are impractical or unrealistic, yes they are impractical and yes it is unrealistic if all the cop cars in LS were Lambos, but, you can't deny that it would be awesome to have a special division for high speed pursuit that would only deploy when you are in an exotic/other high speed car yourself, specially in highways.

Unrealistic, impractical and probably tacky? Yes.

Fun to realize there are 4 cop Turimos hunting your ass at 150+mph? Oh, hell Yes.

Cheers!

Here where I work in GA and in most of the US if we need a high speed pursuit car we invest into modifying one of our standard patrol vehicles. For example, a police package Dodge Charger with a 5.7L V8 HEMI can be modified to reach nearly 200MPH in a very rapid amount of time at a single digit percentage of the cost to purchase most exotic sports cars. It's impractical, wasteful, and unrealistic whether a department can afford it or not. I would be pissed if my local departments that I pay taxes towards wasted taxpayer money on one of these over rated super cars. The only people who buy them in the real world are rich show offs who can't or won't build up their own original super car. If I had money I would much rather take a normal car like a Charger, strip it down, and build it back up exactly how I want it the fast and the furious way instead of buying an exotic.

I'm also a big fan of american muscle, and as I have already said I agree, exotic cars in metropolitan areas are impractical, and I'm sure they are also extremely expensive to maintain, but that's real life, I still think how fun it would be to have a high speed pursuit squad in the game, it would make pursuits hard and exciting, specially as in GTA IV you can escape from the police with ease if you're using a fast car.

I do agree that it would be nice to see some high speed pursuit vehicles, but not exotic cars. I would want to see modified Vics, Chargers, and maybe some domestic sports cars like a Mustang or Challenger. Vehicles below 6 figures.

I'd still be OK with that, I guess I just want to escape from something better than the shltty crown vics.

I think the most logical choice would be a Police Coquette (Corvette), not too expensive, american, and damn fast.

I like the lower level pursuit vehicles in NFS: HP like the Mustang, Charger, Crown Vic, Challenger, etc and the corvettes are in there too but I'm not much of a fan of them. They are less expensive than an exotic car but everyone has one in the US. If you go to a local car show there are just rows and rows of the same car. It's so unoriginal and I honestly don't see what the big deal is other than how fast they are.

Ifyou want fast exciting galmourised pursuits, then NFS Hot Pursuit is the game to play. GTA is a nitty gritty Police Cruiser vs.

a Dukes or something similar.

I'm going to state my argument why there SHOULDN'T be exotic police cars. First, the game will take place in a fictional SoCal. The LAPD uses Crown Vics, Impalas and to a lesser extent Chargers. The LAPD does NOT use sports cars. And do you really think rural PDs can afford such cars? No! Even in a highway chase, they're not practical. Sure, German and Italian highway patrols sometimes use sports cars, but it's restricted to their countries. Unless V will take place in Germany or Italy, or the LAPD/CHP decided to use such cars, police sports cars will NEVER make it in V.

So frucking what? GTA IV had a police car that was not used in real life by the NYPD (the Police Stinger was based on a police vehicle used in Michigan) , so why cant GTA V have a police car that is not used in real life by the LAPD?

But if it was Highway Patrol it wouldn't be owned by rural PDs, it would be owned by the state, they can use any reason to explain why the state of SA decided to splurge on exotic cop cars, besides, you're all taking this way too serious, it's a frucking video game world, they don't have to be 100% realistic.

Exotic police cars would totally ruin the immersion for me. Sure, toss in a exotic police vehicle as an unlockable reward or something, but I would really hate to see a division of them chasing me around. No matter how many departments actually own these vehicles around the world, you would never see them take part in any high-speed chase (or any other kind of police work for that matter).

Also, I've noticed at least two police vehicles were photoshopped in that list of exotic police vehicles.

It would fit if they're used IN 5 stars wanted level or such, or if you're driving an exotic car as well; it'll make the chase much more fun.

Alright, you stupid mother f*cker. I'm going to end this. Grand Theft Auto V, that's a video game, yes we all know. It's made up of STREETS. Have you ever seen/ heard of an exotic police car in pursuit making it around all those curbs? Probably not. This is Grand Theft Auto, and like most video games, this one is realistic. You have the choice not to be, by wrecking sh*t, but it's obvious that we all disagree with you. APC's from TBoGT were and still are realistic. They are made to be that way, and a made for a city with a high crime rate such as New York. The Police Buffalo in NO way whatsoever was exotic. It's a mock-up of a Dodge Charger, and the Police Stinger is a mock-up of the Cadillac CTS-V. That is only realistic because it can be made for policing and has good performance. It's not like it's a Lambo or something that looks like it got run over by a f*cking monster truck because of its flatness. Saints Row had these only because that game is unrealistic, and you'll know it when you see a giant truck with a human cannon on it. That's all unrealistic, and if GTA was, we'd have exotic police cars, but we don't because it IS in fact realistic, and that why were getting vehicles made for policing such as the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, and that's all we know as of now. SO, stop your arguing because it's a case, you got your point to all of us, and we denied it and me and everybody else in the damn forum are sick of hearing you bitch. So get the f*ck out of here.
