GTA V Police Cars & Emergency Vehicles

Possible good news guys! R* stated earlier that GTA V will have crews which is making it's debut with Max Payne 3. It's probably safe to assume that there will be other multiplayer features in GTA V that will match up to Max Payne 3.

 

If you watch the Max Payne 3 multiplayer video part 1 they describe a "gangs" multiplayer mode. In the video they show a paramilitary looking gang (possibly police) as one of the gangs to play as. They also show that there are various other types of unique never before used game modes.

 

If they incorporate this into GTA V with the law as a gang then this could be a total game changer!

 

 

Isn't there already a cops versus robbers game mode in GTA IV?

 

 

 

Also, does the LAPD or CHIPs have the new Crown vics and light bars that FHP has?

 

The front is a tad more slender, also I dig the new light bars.

 

Shame we're not getting a GTA in Miami again FHP has the newer crown vics, and the newer Chargers(Buffalo):

 

And Metro Dade is using a lot of chargers(Buffalo) now.

Everyone has those Vics, almost literally, even I have two of them right now. That makes up most of LAPD's fleet. And they did have a cops n' robbers mode but it had restricting goals, it wasn't a standard deathmatch mode which made it pretty much impossible for police roleplaying.

Thinking about it, I hope we do get more variety in police cars. From Regular vics, to slick tops, to unmarked, and then Chargers also in the three variants(actually I've never seen a regular slick top Charger, but they do have unmarked). I'd also like to see the Tahoes, and I've seen a couple F-150's(marked and unmarked).

 

I would also like to see more Law enforcement agencies, from LAPD, LASD, ChiPs, to Fish and Game(out in the country?).

 

 

GTA is really missing out on unmarked cops. Imagine committing a crime thinking there aren't any cops around, only to get a wanted level. Although they should make them rare.

This is off subject but I have been trying to get on the Rockstar site for GTA V. The only thing poping up is Max Payne. Has anyone else been having that same issue? The trailer comes but no forum....

Here is the police Ranger from San Andreas. Of course this one is more or less the state police version of it (CHP) and is outdated in GTA. Now, in place of these, if they make a return, that is, I am hoping to see these.

 

 

Perhaps the police HPV1000 will make a return and will go from this to this.

but ot, I hope we just stick with the crown vics and chargers, some of the newer police cars i've seen posted on here h=just look awful.

Yeah like every British cop drives a lancer. You can't compare a Crown Vic to a Lancer because Crown Vics are universally driven in America while the Lancer isn't universally driven as a British patrol car.

 

*@Mr. Moffat, cops in hick towns in America still drive fairly new Crown Vics and Dodge Chargers.

 

This is more like your average British cop patrol car. Not a bad car either given that British police officers have very different roles from American ones; so the car has to reflect the role.

These photos ( first 3 posted by spike88) are the most realistic for an American based game and SHOULD be in GTA V (but sadly probably won't ). On a day to day basis in the USA you see these main 4 police vehicles.

I can pretty much confirm this from my traveling to 35/50 American states from rural, to gov't, to suburban, to urban areas, over my lifetime and personally encountering the police in all of them (not as a criminal).

The 2nd and 4th are technically the same, just one is a newer model. I'd honestly be surprised if GTA V didn't have an LAPD Buffalo as it is quite the common police car now.

 

 

Also a commonly used car is the Impala(Typical Federal Government vehicle)

 

 

The Taurus(usually driven by Detectives)

 

*Note: I see this is driven just like this, doesn't have any markings or light bars, it does have a light next to the rear view mirror, and it lacks a siren. Usually when I see this car going somewhere, the driver is honking like crazy because he doesn't have a siren.

 

 

 

LAPD uses most of these vehicles.

 

 

 

 

As a note, I hope the next GTA is in a modern Vice City w/ Everglade and the Florida turnpike, I'd really love to see FHP and Metro-Dade rendered in the game.

I am shocked to see that the LAPD is not using an updated version of the Tahoe (given that gov'ts in Calif. love spending money whether they have it or not).

 

Very common to see the newer models in other places as K-9 units, recon/tactical operations, HAZMAT, and medical first response, but it's good to see they are lasting. I expect to see new ones in the LAPD in a couple of years though.

 

*I'm sure someone in LAPD has their heads buried in this catalog.

Like all Italian police drive sports cars. Also, what did we say about Euro police cars? I don't want to be a xenophobe or anything like that but they're freaking taking up all of the page! If this were GTA: Western Europe of course we wouldn't mind cars like this being posted, but this game takes place in Los Angeles County and possibly San Diego, rural areas outside L.A. and San Diego and possibly even Tijuana. If you're going to post police cars, make sure they're relevant to THOSE places, not England, Italy, etc.

 

Of course, the livery used by Italian police isn't terrible, but I personally don't like European police cars. But that's not why I posted that long clarification up there.

That website is civilian owned, and the pictures are taken whenever someone comes across one in traffic, so it's outdated.

I'm just glad they're using the thinner light bars. Hopefully we'll get the thinner light bars in the actual game, as everyone is using them.

Instead of those Rural Ranchers in GTA: San Andreas, I think they should be replaced by SAHP (San Andreas Highway Patrol) cars, since they patrol statewide. It'd be hectic to create at least 1 police car for each town there is in the game (which will be a lot), so instead they should fill them up with State Police Cars, which will patrol the rural areas.
