Uh-oh, I can see a platform war breaking out...

Cheers!

Haha, nice .gif there but seriously though, let's not get into argument's on rather it comes to PC or not, just wait and see how it goes.

I think it will but you never know, let's just enjoy the game here and now for the time being.

I really don't understand why people are getting upset over the liveries of the police cars and the types of police cars used. Yes, they may not match LAPD but remember, this isn't LA. Rockstar only said the area was based on LA and therefore its their choice what liveries and what cars to use for the LSPD.

Also with regards to the one post about only Interceptors chasing you on one star wanted levels. That can be common practice in some police forces around the world. They'll have a fleet of cars for 'basic' police work, i.e attending crime scenes, low level chases and then they'll bring in a smaller fleet of faster cars if the slower cars can't cope.

I'm interested to see if there is a taser, as it was reference on the peace of mind part of the interactive site

WOW! I just spent an hour reading posts from the last day alone! I'm very glad to see that my thread has not only survived, but thrived and in my opinion quite possibly affected the final outcome of the emergency vehicles considering the fact that we all know that R* monitored this forum when doing final touches on the game.

I have to admit that in the hour of reviewing that I just did I was initially highly dissapointed as well, but I then began to think that it is HIGHLY likely that the vigilante missions will come later on after a mission, especially because every GTA game that I have ever played (III+) had vigilante missions, I see no reason why they would have removed it for V after all of these vehicle additions and mods. It will probably become available down the road like it did in IV.

Also remember that GTA Online has not yet been released, for all we know there will be a super bad*ss cops and crooks mode with reaslistic scenarios and roleplaying! I couldn't believe the detail they put into the police and codes. I watched a video where the cops exited their vehicle and stayed to the rear of it yelling to exit the vehicle instead of just running up and shooting at you or trying to pull you out like in IV. I was also amazed to see video of a tow mission where the dispatcher said can you 10-9 that (repeat) and then he later said that he was going 10-7 (out of service)! I work for a law enforcement agency that uses these same universal 10 codes, so to me that is my second launguage.

The most dissapointing piece of info that I have seen is the confirmation of not being able to run lights without siren like in NFS, it is such an eeeaasy thing to add yet they missed it again.

Well, I'm 10-42 for the day, just got off a 12 hour night shift. Thanks everyone for keeping this thread going.

did you guys check out that vid on the last page?

Yah, it seams like the units dispatched are back in the black uniforms. WTH?

It makes sense during the night time, black is less easy to see. They may only use the olive drab during the daylight.

I have an extremely strong feeling that the modding communities over at lcpdfr.com and gtapolicemods.com may have to correct alot of these stuff ups including the horrible generic Police liveries. :/

Okay, what if it doesn't come out on PC though? You can't mod consoles like you can PCs, so all that work would go to waste if, and I am taking a huge assumption here, it is an RDR release, i.e. console only. That's 99.9% of modding ideas out the window then with a current-gen only release.

Don't act like it's not coming out for PC. It's not a question of if, it's a question of when.

It's Rockstar's call to make though. They are the ones who (along with 2k) determine what gets released. FWIW, there could be board meetings going on right now discussing platforms.

It's just as likely it won't come to PC. We just don't know and until R* announces something, I'm erring on the side of it's a console only release.

After all, GTAs have been console only before. MC series after MC2 was console only. RDR series was console only. Noire was initially console only.

Consoles are where the money is. Plain and simple

NOT 2K, it's Take Two.

I'm pretty certain the taser is in. It's listed as a weapon in the official guide that was leaked.

Why does R* have these Taurus chasing you in LS? What's the crown Vic for? All I see it do is be parked.

Really messed up making it feel like it's L.A.

Rumors are that there are k-9 dogs in the game ( german shepherds) have you been able to see one? I highly doubt the police are using them, but who knows...i've heard that you can buy dogs so i hope german shepherds is a option.

Yesterday I was in a police foot pursuit and I definitely heard dogs but I was in an enclosed area so couldn't see them, maybe standard dogs and not police ones?

also - if you're running with lights and sirens on a two lane road & you're on the left lane, the cars will look behind to see if there's any traffic on the right and then pull in to the right and continue driving - looks far more realistic

This is so dumb.. people are really complaining about the game and they haven't even played it? Man stop worrying about this petty sh*t, GTAV is going to be huge and in two days you'll be overwhelmed with joy...

Police back is pictured 1 or 2 pages back I think

Thanks for this video, it's the first one I have seen where someone was actually trying to show the lights. It looks okay but it's pretty amazing that the tail lights completely turn off even at night when the emergency lights are on. Even for Rockstar, that's a pretty weird mistake. Another problem is the automatic switching between multiple light patterns--that looks bad. They should allow us to choose one because there is definitely one that I liked better. Obviously the other issue is the tininess of the rear window LEDs. Rockstar somehow managed to get appropriately sized LEDs on other police cars, but they apparently couldn't put them on the interceptors. Oh, and one last thing, we should be able to have the lights on without the sirens while driving but, again, according to reports, Rockstar completely dropped the ball on that again, as is to be expected.

I actually really like this unit and how the lights are set up, especially how the patterns transition on the push bar. It's sweet. I have a feeling that this, and the unmarked unit, along with the rotorary CVPI will be my most active units to drive.

I also liked how the ground radiation lights emitting from the LED bar/rotorary lightbar has a realistic reflection behavior, how it realistically reflects off walls and objects as the car drives by. Just almost like real life.

To be honest, even after all of this time waiting for and anticipating the LED's, I actually like the older style Rotators much, much better. Pretty ironic, I think.

The way they reflect on the ground and their surroundings is just awesome. They look badass on the ambulances as well.

Kinda wish the fire engine had two separate lightbars, just for some variety.

I like how the police AI act now. No more head on ramming, and just flying attacks like monkeys.

They'll tail or stop ahead of you but actually stop and not ram you. They'll ram you from behind or try to block you. And they actually do proper PIT's which looks epic. Also if you stop, they'll stop and aim their guns / shoot instead of just ramming you till you exit the car. Much better IMO.

Im sorry but i cant take all this Rockstar bashing they could have easily copy and pasted the police cars from GTA IV as well as the fire truck and ambulance added new textures and changed the light bars and the majority of the people that will play GTA V would have given 2 f*cks. But they didnt do that they went in created new models and updated old ones with new lighting and made them more detailed than any other GTA game before and yet you are still nitpicking them and saying they dropped the ball because they didn't allow you to control every aspect of the car.

Why dont you go play Saints row or Mafia the lights dont even stay on when you get out of the cars and for that matter that has never been a feature of GTA games so they didnt drop sh*t.

There are more emergency vehicles in GTA V than there is any other game and yet people are still bitching why dont you go an create a game as detailed, massive and containing better emergency vehicles then Rockstar have made. Then you can release it here and then we can all bitch and moan about how you didnt allow us to change the light patterns and only use the lights.

I'm glad they kept the rotator bars on some cars. I actually like the light bars from the first trailer, I just wanted lights other places on the cars. I like light bars that looks like rotator light bars but are more modern.
