did you guys check out that vid on the last page?

We're talking about in the city. LSPD. Not the Sheriff's Department. The SD doesn't utilize the Interceptor at all.

His video was about the FIB Suv's not your problem with only the interceptor responding.

So, do firetrucks actually put out fires??

Nope.

Wow, multi-post... My bad it split my post up.

The LEDs are not nearly bright enough. On the interceptor the rear LEDs are stupidly small, especially considering Rockstar miraculously got decent-sized ones on the cruiser vapids. Also, the flashing tail lights that turn the tail lights off at night is bizarre. Overall, the emergency vehicle situation is very disappointing, as is the lack of enterable buildings.

Does anyone else like the alternating LED light bar patterns? There's 3 different ones that are automatic. I would've liked it so you can choose one and stick with one unless you manually change it.

Darn, just realized I forgot to ask jdowning about how the covers for the rotatory lights burst, anything like how the covers could be shot off the bulbs on the roof in IV.

Unless this was shown in earlier posts and I missed it.

It is exactly how it is in IV.

Does anyone else feel disappointed as me? its a mess

How so? I'm disappointed, but not surprised. I'm more frustrated. Rockstar makes such awesome games but is totally out to lunch on the little things that really matter.

While there are disappointments, I like most of what I'm seeing, the vehicles and their lighting look nice (minus the stupid generic POLICE on the Buffalo and Interceptor sides), I really love the world and how diverse it is even if it has hardly any fun enter-able buildings, I'm very excited for this game.

So am I. Despite all the complaints - it is a HUGE step up from IV. I don't know what anyone else prefers, but I'd take V's emergency vehicles over IV's any day.

I do think they should have kept the new Interceptor out of the game. It should be scrapped completely. It's ugly and doesn't have the proper livery either. It's just inconsistency in an attempt to be cool on Rockstar's part. Still - I won't be driving the ugly piece of garbage. The Buffalo is a bit of a mystery too - seeing as it is even further from the other police vehicles with the strange badge decal on the hood and only showing up in online gameplay and a couple of other places.

Like ceejayy123 said, we can't fully judge until we have played the game ourselves. We are still in the baby-step phase of the game.

Cheers!

I disagree. Had Rockstar not included the interceptor, it would have been disappointing, as we would have been left with the Crown Vic, which, despite being a legend, is a dinosaur of a police car and will be dead from the majority of US fleets in less than 2 years, by which Rockstar expects GTA:O to still be alive and kicking, so it'd be unrealistic (Somewhat.)

I don't know about you, but I like up-to-date stuff. I wouldn't want to play the game if they were using 96 caprices in a modern setting, would you?

Well, if that were the case they should have replaced the Interceptor with the Buffalo, as from what we know is only part of the GTA:Online portion of the game. This would also more accurately portray the LAPD fleet with Crown Vics and Chargers. The Interceptor can be used for GTA:Online for the 'future'. Whoever is the vehicle art director for GTA:V needs to be fired and replaced with someone with more competency. Especially with what they did with the Buffalo and Interceptor livery.

Personally I like how the Interceptor looks.. I just HATE the generic livery it has as lapd85 said whoever the art director who allowed it needs to quit, it's so stupid, ESPECIALLY on the Buffalo, why? Sure okay so let's say the Vapid Interceptor could be called a prototype for the LSPD, they're just seeing how and what it's like... I'll buy that but the Buffalo? Which was used by the LCPD in 2009? Which was 4 years ago in the game world, is no excuse to have a messed up generic livery like it does. Also, like lizardman said I like up-to-date stuff also.. Why it erk'ed me about MCLA a game set in 2008 and yet the LAPD still used a 90's Caprice? (1996 Impala in the game) Stupid. Still, I am glad R* are thinking ahead and such, updating cars to the times but they need to learn how to execute said ideas better.

I personally like the livery on the interceptor as well as the LSPD seal on the door of the vapid, it gives diversity and more of a modern feel/vibe. At least they didn't put it onto all of the police vehicles.

With regards to the lack of LSPD on the streets... This video might put that to rest:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZjVhc6ZHbM

6:38 mark there's a CVPI on patrol + 6:46 an Interceptor as well. Around the 8 minute mark there's also a traffic stop by an Interceptor as well.

There was also another gameplay video where the player was driving a tow truck in Downtown, with a CVPI and an Interceptor both waiting at a traffic light at the same time.

That said, it is quite confusing still as most of the gameplay videos I've watched have little police presence.

I would say that video does put it to rest. I think I might be the only here that likes the lower police presence. In IV, there were many time where you would see 3-4 LCPD cruisers drive down the same street you are on, turn the corner and there's another two.

Same with you, I like the lower police presence, makes it more realistic I think.. You don't see 15 cop cars patrolling the same couple blocks in real life in most cities unlike Liberty City had.

We'll have to agree to disagree :p

I'd rather have the one cruiser with a correct livery and good lighting setup than two cruisers, one with a different generic livery and lighting setup. Even if the CVPI is no longer being manufactured, at least it's an accurate depiction of a real-life LAPD cruiser. You wouldn't see these ugly Taurus-based Interceptors getting around LA with the big generic "POLICE" on the side.

Same with Midnight Club LA: the cars are outdated, but they were very accurate in portraying genuine LAPD cruisers.

Again, nobody is forcing me to drive it, so I'll just stick with my beloved CVPI ;)

Cheers!

Okay, what if it doesn't come out on PC though? You can't mod consoles like you can PCs, so all that work would go to waste if, and I am taking a huge assumption here, it is an RDR release, i.e. console only. That's 99.9% of modding ideas out the window then with a current-gen only release.

I'd rather have the interceptors in mind than one crusier model however, reasoning is variety

Don't act like it's not coming out for PC. It's not a question of if, it's a question of when.

It's Rockstar's call to make though. They are the ones who (along with 2k) determine what gets released. FWIW, there could be board meetings going on right now discussing platforms.

It's just as likely it won't come to PC. We just don't know and until R* announces something, I'm erring on the side of it's a console only release.

After all, GTAs have been console only before. MC series after MC2 was console only. RDR series was console only. Noire was initially console only.

Consoles are where the money is. Plain and simple
