GTA V Police Cars & Emergency Vehicles

Well, we should write up a new letter for Rockstar and politely ask them to include the yelp heard in the trailers and correct a few inaccuracies that we pointed out when they release the patches...

 

Not trying to start a pitchfork festive here, don't get me wrong they have blew most of our expectations away and the game looks great to me -it is just missing a few little touch-ups...

Yup, thats the one. You can very briefly see a police Baffalo.

Very, VERY disappointing to read that the police don't even patrol the streets anymore. That's actually REALLY bad and stupid. Every GTA has always had police patrolling the streets, this absolutely sucks.

This issue might be addressed later with an update, it could be a failure in the coding of the game.

 

I myself am disappointed that there is no vigilate missions. How in the world could that not have been added, it's always been apart of GTA.

Ok, just got to 'Vinewood Police Department'

 

Quite a big police station, as soon as I arrived there was around 5 police cars out the front, not too sure of the name of them, a few police officers out front, didn't want to get caught.

A police car then pulled up into one of the empty parking spaces and got out and joined the other officers

 

Had a look around the back, nothing really, jumped up on top and there was a police maverick. Hijacked with no alarm, but very very different flying technique compared to GTA IV. Much more difficult I thought, the whole screen tilted and you could kind of hover in GTA IV by pushing no controls, whereas this one will bring the chopper down.

 

I'll get more on the other info as soon as I find this FIB building!

 

I don't remember ever seeing a black bar across the top of the LED lightbar, is this a different bar, or do they all have that on the top now?

I just got Busted and there's an LSPD station. There's parking for 'impounded' cars and you can go in there and pay $300 to get your car out. There's also an additional 4 garages which may be for additional police cars but nothing was in there. I'm gonna do this lifeguard thing and then do some story to see if I can get any more info! Ask my any questions or anything else you needa' know in the mean time. I killed myself in Vinewood but brought me to a different hospital than the one you mentioned

 

As of the question on NPC response, yes, they do respond better. I noticed that large trucks don't move over for sirens but most of the other vehicles do and it is a lot more responsive than IV. They tend to move to the right than they do to the left and slow right down when going through junctions

Thanks for answering. But one thing: if you're responding and you come up to an intersection and you're behind a car stopped at the lights, do they move or do you have move around them?

 

 

If there's a long queue of traffic at a stop light and traffic is still joining the queue, the cars that are moving slightly will move to the right. but unfortunately, the cars that have stopped will not move over. and no lorrys will. even if you turn your sirens on behind a truck when it's moving, it won't move an inch

I know this has nothing to do with this forum but did you by any chance see bears? Also does Michael own a pet and can you buys dogs in the game?

Well, it sucks stopped traffic does not move but really it's not THAT unrealistic, when I was living in Houston, TX it had horrible traffic so basically emergency vehicles just picked the lane with the least amount of traffic and had them turn the corner (or go through the red light).

I have also seen them drive in the opposite direction lanes to drive around stopped traffic at a intersection so this in the game isn't a big deal.

That video was total horses**t. Nothing has changed from GTA IV.

 

Thanks for showing that jdowning. I've seen enough.

 

Still gonna be an amazing game nonetheless. As roleplayers/emergency service enthusiasts, we have the tools, but now we just have to fill in the voids ourselves.

 

Crossing my fingers for a patch or DLC, that's all we can hope for. ( and I will pay for a tiller. Not even joking).

When the FIB responds in the SUV they are wearing the real FBI equipment that actual FBI Field Agents wear. R* must have changed it since the screenshot was taken of the black uniforms. YESSS!

On the loading screen, there was a guy in a tan suit with an FIB badge - maybe that. I'll get a deeper look tomorrow and do some mission, stockpile up and find a suitable place to get 4* and drive off in maybe a FIB SUV!

 

No problems guys - know you are all very interested as am I so thought I shouldn't keep this all to myself!

 

Earlier on the FIB responded to me in that military gear - could they have come from a chopper by any chance? In fact, you guys seem quite hyped about that, I'll get in another 4* chase and show you guys now, may take another hour though for vid to upload.

The strategy guide has confirmed that the unmarked SUV is FIB so the Tactical Units in the screen are FIB leading to another disappointment as their in the cheap black uniform rather than the FBI's actual uniform.

I just got some footage of 2 FIB SUVs, coming within the next 30 mins or so

 

above: not one police car have I seen all day playing this except when pulling out of a police station & responding to an incident (and they're very reckless when responding to these, quite unrealistic, the people don't pull over, they get out and shoot back)
