Even though it sort of bothers me that the CVPI is the only one with authentic LAPD livery on it and all the others have the generic "POLICE" marking, I am sort of too desperate to play the game to really care at this point.

 

Do hope that stupid logo on hood of the Buffalo will get erased though...

I hope the generic vehicles aren't something you only see with a wanted level. Considering the different liveries/vehicle, the officers inside have a different uniform, and they've really only been seen when the player has a wanted level.

I think they are an 'in-between' between normal cops and swat hence the faster cars and body armour

The same way people who are pilots in reality like to join flight clans and are joining flights crews in GTA V. It's what we live, it's what we love to do. I have been playing "cops and robbers" since I was 4 or 5 years old. I knew back then I wanted to be a cop. I can be at work for 10 hours and then come home and the first thing I want to do (aside from quality time with wife and kid) is play some GTA IV on my PC with LCPDFR mod. It's just in my blood, I guess.

Well thanks for all you do! I'm only 16, however this summer I've decided against becoming a rotary wing pilot for the army in favor of law enforcement. I went on a few ride alongs and absolutely loved it. I've always considered law enforcement though.

Some people are just never happy it seems. No car in the game is fully authentic, so what if there's just POLICE written on the sides, many designs like that must have been put forward and just rejected by modern police departments. One different person in a position of power and entire police forces would have different looking vehicles. Who cares if the buffalos have designs on their hood, thousands of designs have probably been drawn up of different police cars, very few get accepted. GTA isn't a law enforcement simulator, the police cars and other vehicles were deliberately made different from their real life counterparts.

I haven't worked at all since August 14th due to injury. I've been spending hours here every day since then due to boredom. Not much to do when you are stuck at home. Before these last few weeks, I would check this site a couple times a day, usually from my phone. Wouldn't post much. I think I've had more posts these last few weeks than I have had my entire time as a member here since 2008!

What would you like us to discuss? GTAV police cars? What hasn't already been said? We can't discuss leaks (not that they reveal anything we haven't already seen in terms of police cars), and the games just around the corner. Not much to keep us on topic, and I'd rather see slightly off topic posts than a dead forum. We could always continue to gripe about their lack of authenticity...

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one on here who serves I've been in Law Enforcement for seven years now and it has it's pro's and con's when it comes to politics. I met an Retired NYPD Officer a couple of days ago, I was giving an escort to his vehicle. He told me he was a 911 survivor and was part of the anti terrorist team. He told me some things that were mind blowing on that horrific day of 911. Now he is on the Coast guard as a Chief I believe. You never know who someone is if don't open your mouth to speak. I love serving the community
