GTA V Police Cars & Emergency Vehicles

^^^ I heard about LAPD getting the APC with water cannon from the National Guard, but not about them trying to get a submarine.

 

I thought this was cool, maybe we can get a FIB vest like this in multiplayer or something

So guys, I've been doing research. I've picked up the book, "Rise of the Warrior Cop: The Militarization of America's Police Forces", and it's been giving me a strange hope for GTA V. In the book, they closely study the LAPD, starting with the formation of SWAT in 1965. I have learned the following:

 

 

1. Darryl Gates acquired APC in 1984 from the US Army, and had them converted into Police vehicles by merely painting them blue, adding the city crest, and Painting the title "Rescue Vehicle" on the sides.

 

2. THEY REQUESTED A GODDAMNED SUBMARINE. LIKE, AN ACTUAL SUBMARINE FROM THE US NAVY.

 

3. They botched Drug raids like crazy, which could be represented with Trevor's or Franklin's stories.

 

I really think that giving the LSPD actual M113's for the SWAT teams would be awesome, as would adding a submarine in the harbor, or even surrounding water as a static or even dynamic object.

I read about that book the others day on the BBC, has a video too!

The B button never did anything except that stupid cinematic camera. Would be nice if R* got rid of it and could use it for something cool when in the police car, like changing a siren pattern instead of holding down LS. Then LS held down could be the airhorn while lights are on.

They do need different fire vehicles

Don't think they'll throw out the cinematic mode for the siren but the left and right on DPAD are available as well as X/O. They could also change A/X or RB/R1 since they have the same control. (E-Brake)

I was thinking about this the other day: wouldn't it make sense to turn the whole thing (just lights) on/ off by quickly double tapping R3. Then,once on, you go though it as normal (tap once for siren on, hold down for wail/yelp, then once more for just lights. Then double click to turn lights off?

No worries I'm pretty sure the Fire Department will return. That's like not having cops!

The opportunities are endless. It's just the question of how much they can do technical wise.

We really aren't going off topic when talking about fire department because its all emergency related, our mission is done R* gave us our police cars. So lets begin speculating on Fire Department since we haven't seen them.

Since we have SUVs, it would be really nice to see this parked in the fire house September 17.

Is their anything that anyone is still expecting regarding GTA V Law Enforcement Vehicles? I'm hoping that the screen with the police motorcycle is old since most PD's use BMW motorcycles not that old one used and I want to see a FIB Baffalo & Tahoe both 2012+ models.

Undercover cop cars should be better, like specialist traffic units, Not a big fan of crown vics as undercover cars

I REALLY hope thats not the SWAT vehicle in GTA V. Some Law Enforcement Departments still use those that are pretty far behind financially but most have moved on to new SWAT vehicles with better technology.

I would love to see that on a back lot of the movie studios. Come to think of it, we haven't seen any of the movie studios. Would be cool to go to one and find a Liberty City police car some where in the warehouses. That would be a freaking awesome easter egg
