american police cars like crown vics are so boring lol, i prefer the BMW,s, Subaru's, Evo 8's, Golf, Audi undercover police cars you get in England..........

the only thing cool about those cars is the car, atleast american cop cars have badass lights unlike your country which isnt intimidating at all

Truth be told he has a point, those crown vics are not the most able cars out there. If I look at for example Germany or The Netherlands and especially their SWAT/Undercover teams - they drive heavily armored: BMW X5 4.4i Security and BMW X5's, BMW 760Li High Security and normal armored BMW 7's, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG's, Mercedes-Benz S, Audi A8 L 6.0 W12 High Security, Audi A6's and so forth. And above all they're called in way faster than a SWAT team in the US. Another big difference is that they also often times handle the car chases, needless to say these tend to be short for the suspects. I find them to be much more intimidating even when they're just passing me going 120mph in a convoy on the highway. Not to mention they don't need 50 cars to chase one suspect. And that goes for a lot of European countries including, France, UK, Italy, Switzerland etc.

Since we won't see those cars in GTA V vanilla, I hope they will be mods like in IV.

I still think US cop cars are more intimidating and better looking.

Hey everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I sure as hell know if I were being chased by the police - being chased by a Mercedes S or BMW 760Li would be a lot more intimidating than being chased by a Crown vic.

Maybe it's just because I live in North American and I'm used to the types of police vehicles we have here, but to me, seeing sports cars like BMW's being used as police vehicle puzzles me. I find it hard to take them seriously given that they're made by a luxury car company. The vehicles just don't seem to fit the police identity of being "work horses" for the demanding task of policing like North American police vehicles do. If you're the criminal, I can't see how ERT/SWAT showing up in a BMW is more intimidating that them showing up in one of these. If you're the criminal, and you're driving down the the highway doing 200KM/H, I can't see how police in BMW's with the few lights they have are more intimidating than police in Crown Vic's, Chargers and Tahoe's are more intimidating, especially decked out in all the lights they have. See the video below as an example.

I don't, looks like youre getting chased by a 70 year old grandpa from Florida.

I guess that's a difference between continents. In the US it's normal for one vehicle to be chased by dozens of identical police crown vics while in (Western)-Europe it's normal for a vehicle to be chased by either various marked high speed BMW's, Audi's and/or Mercedes-Benz's etc or unmarked armored ones.

Not every department in US have all crown Vic's, we got some mean unmarked units too.

My town has all brand new chargers, which I find the most intimidating, they just look so mean!

While Crown Vic's are certainly the most popular, not everyone uses them. Keep in mind too, while I'm sure BMW's, MB's, ect are all still likely faster, all police vehicles used in North American are the special police version of the vehicles which have have more horsepower, better suspension, handling, ect. I'd think that if someone is being chased, they should at least know who by and not just have a whole bunch of random blacked out cars following them.

Yeah like I said, I think that's really more of a cultural difference. In the US and Canada people drive a lot more big heavy SUV'S and other cars that aren't even commercially available in Europe without importing. While in Europe you see a lot of hatchbacks and sedans (BMW, Opel, Volkswagen, Renault, Mercedes-Benz, Mazda, AUDI, Skoda, Saab, Toyota, Volvo etc). Which for some reason makes a convoy of black german luxury cars with blue flashlights much more intimidating to us. My best guess is that it's like that because it's embedded in both our cultures.

Hahah that's funny. I was watching a YouTube video of somewhere in Russia, the police actually stop you by cutting you off and holding a stop sign out of the window. They're in like station wagons and the dudes they were trying to stop we're in a Ferarri.

Tbf the same can be said about European (certainly UK) police vehicles. Their engines are much higher performance than civ standard. It's all a moot point anyway.

Perhaps I watched it too much as a kid but my default thought of American police cars is always the comedic ones of the early 80's.
