And does it look like the new cruiser is higher off the ground now?

 

Where did you get that screenshot? And are there any more of them?

It's on the collectors edition preorder poster, there's a wider one on the special edition where you can see that the car on the left is also a police cruiser

I wonder if the Police Vehicles can be customized? When they announced the pre-order for the special and collectors edition, the collectors edition has "a garage to store custom vehicles". Also, to the regulars on this topic: who is getting it on the PS3?

That is my next question too! And customisable to the extent of removable lightbars, decals etc.

More than likely already posted but i'm having a hard time reading today, but anybody willing to think that the new apparent "Police Jeep" is going to be the Ranger? The Police version of the Rancher?

So something I just thought of that fits in sort of with the Police vehicles is Lifeguard vehicles. With there being "ocean front beach" in this game has anybody seen anything that indicates maybe specific 'Lifeguard' trucks are in the game? That "Police Jeep" may not be using the term Jeep to represent any SUV but maybe a Police or Lifeguard version of the Bodhi ( Kaiser Jeep M715) or the Mesa Grande (Jeep Wrangler).

The new police cars and lights are fantastic but they have one shortfall...the lightbar is still the wrong shape. It's a little too tall and doesn't extend back far enough, giving it a box-shape from the side rather than a rectangular one. Every modern agency that uses a low-profile lightbar (which is virtually all of them) uses the Whelen Liberty-type one, not the boxy old-style Federal Signal non-LED one.

I'm surprised R* missed this given the attention to detail they gave to the Ford Taurus Police Interceptor and the Tahoe. This might be seen as nitpicky but they've shown that they now care about authentic emergency lighting, so why not go all the way? They fix that and the police cars will be pretty much perfect (a 1:1 CVPI would be nice, but the current one is fine).

The light bars are way to Narrow! They need to be thicker from the side view....Look at those pics, they need to be double or three times wider on the side view

 

The closest light bar i found that alnost loks like the one in game.

That's the new vapid cruiser not the old iv model....

1. Police vehicles being modifiable with multiple styles of emergency lighting, pushbar, sirens, etc (It seems like the original lightbars they were going with may have been discarded?)

2. Emergency vehicle options in regular vehicle modifications

3. Police clothing available to the player

Yeah, we need more fire trucks. There's more than just pumpers in city fire stations. Aerial Ladder trucks, Rescue trucks, and Tanker's would be cool.

Asking for new police vehicles and lightbars are OK, but damn police clothes? Go play LCPDFR if you want to do that stuff and play cop. It's sad how most of GTA IV's PC sales were modded to be LCPDFR ever since the first mission. People don't even want to enjoy the storyline, they just want to play "COP SIMULATOR 2008" forever. I played LCPDFR, it was fun but I completed the game first before playing it.

Thanks for the gif lungs..ive been wanting to see that bit of the trailer slowed down ever since it came out. Thats the new interceptor up front, right? Rockstar certainly delivered, I'm so excited to drive these cruisers. Definitely will be the first thing I do when I get the game.

I read somewhere every vehicle would be customizable, but theres still a chance that it just meant civilian vehicles.
