Last year I took a tour at DICE and they do check fan forums, they actually have 1 guy to monitor the Wishlists topic

But he said they only consider something if they really feel like and mostly they take a good laugh at it.

 

They are not allowed to take ideas just when they want, they have to discuss as its THEIR job to create something.

 

Nowadays more devs like Konami listen to their fans but most ideas do not make it to the game or are not even considered.

Aa much as I read the Wishlist thread I haven't really seen some original ideas, they're mainly copy it from other games, or want things back from San Andreas. Nothing original. Rockstar can think of better ideas.

Edit: Kinda makes sense though... The hobo will need money for drugs and what not, so he'll do dirty work for some cash.

There is a small possibility that him being a hobo could be a character study of a major character, in a way:

 

1. Maybe he starts out as a hobo, and you offer him a job in your criminal organization, and he starts to work with you.

 

2. Perhaps he pretends to be a hobo in order to mug people when they get close, or something. Perhaps to clue in on his personality, as a kind of Howling Mad Murdock type of character who dresses up and does crazy sh*t, but as a criminal.

 

 

In my opinion it's most likely a coincidence. They do look similar, but there are also some noticeable differences. However, since the angle and lighting is different, it's hard to tell whether they look different simply due to that or if there is actually a difference, if anyone knows what I mean. At least this connection sounds a hell of lot less ridiculous than those saying he is Niko. But he's probably just a commonly occurring homeless ped, given emphasis in the trailer to show the state of things in Los Santos and the overall theme of the game.

Yes they do look the same but keep in mind that the game was and is in early development and they might have duplicated models for people to speed things up, like in the golf scene at the beginning, theres two very similar looking guys (mentioned a few pages back).

If 2405 turns out to mean nothing, that's not R* trolling us. It would be the fanbase's fault for misinterpreting a random 4-digit string of numbers. Just relax; I doubt anything's happening tomorrow, but I think we will be seeing info soon. MP3 is out of the way but needs a little more marketing post-release. After that's done with, R* have no more reason to keep GTA V under wraps. It's gonna be their biggest game of the year, whether it releases in 2012 or 2013, there's probably quite a bit of excitement to finally reveal details on what they've worked on so far with fans.

Anyway, that hobo guy is definately not the same guy as the one getting out of the van. The eyebrows are very different and the exterminator's ace is much narrower and less round than the hobo. If the exterminator looks like anyone, it's Rob Corddry:

Also, that truck's front shape looks very wierd. But it could be that the truck has hit a Rancher (from IV).

If you look closely you can see that it has turned 90° to the right, see picture below for clearer view.

 

 

So this could mean that the Rancher is back! Also seen in the files from Max Payne 3.

Protagonist

The most prominently featured character in the teaser trailer is a middle-aged caucasian male. In various scenes he is respectively seen overlooking the city from a balcony, taking part in a jewelry store robbery, and driving a blue sports car. Based on the monologue from the trailer, it appears that he is a retired career criminal of sorts, moving to Los Santos to start a new life and raise children. As expected in GTA, things don't go as planned and he is pulled back into 'the life'. Dourvas is credited for making a connection to actor Ned Luke, who bears a strikingly similar appearance and a matching voice.

I agree with the idea that it is just character skin re-use for the Trailer, not meant to be same actual character in the story.

 

It would not be wise to recruit a random hobo and give him an assault rifle for your jewelry store heist. Things could go wrong. That's indirectly similar to what happened in the Michael Mann movie "Heat" where they brought in a new guy to the gang, and he destroyed the whole gang because he was a trigger happy psychotic.

I find it interesting that all the licence plates in the trailer are registered in October, same as GTA:SA. Does anybody have any close-ups of the plates from GTA:IV or the other game that wasn't released in October?

The plates from GTA IV are clear. They have only Liberty City and the that's all.

Not to mention he is wearing the same black undershirt. Something tells me this will be a more team oriented GTA as in finding people to help you out aswell as organising jobs such as the heist in the trailer.

 

My theory

 

It could work similar to the bank robbery in VC but for more than one mission, having a team would even suit the multi protag theory, each of the say 5 team members could have their own stories in between each big heist and each team member has different styled missions for example

 

Hobbo= Stealth based missions(5 missions).

Tank top guy= Traditional San andreas styled missions(20 missions).

Team member= High speed missions involving chases and races(10 missions).

Team member 4= Combat oriented missions(15 missions).

Ned Luke= A mix of every mission style aswell as more methodical missions (25 missions).

 

Heist= Missions to wrap up each section of the story(5 missions)

 

A Heist could mark an end to a particular part of the storyline from here you control Ned Lukes character and you could give each team member a specific role based on their strengths. Each heist would become progressively harder and more complex.
