I don't know if this has already posted but in the second camera angle at the golf course (the one that is looking behind the players) there is a sign, made of 2 parts, and the bottom one is kinda dark. I searched for a good frame, put it in photoshop, changed the brightness and contrast a bit and I was able to read what it says:

"Los Santos Golf Club"

user posted image

Though I'm not so sure about the Santos, it looks kinda weird

Yeah that's what I see too. Awesome find, now we know that there will be a golf club in LS, it may play a role in the game.

The following is a list of things that we expected that were not in the game based on the trailers. As far as the graphics, this was obviously not rendered on a PS3 or XBOX360 as much of the graphics were not as good in the final console version

0:02-Hijackable trains. You couldnt even walk around inside the train.

0:05-Active rollercoaster and theme park. The park was closed down. Retractable convertables. They were fixed down or up.

0:26-Exaggerated lighting effects.

0:30-Hijacking cable cars. I dont even remember if you could ride the cable cars

0:45-Exaggerated draw distance

0:18-Being able to rob diners and vendors. you could shoot them but not robberies like VC.

0:25-slightly destructible environments and being able to kick doors that were locked open.

0:34- Hang from the back of vehicles

0:36- Hang from helicopters

0:42-Store weapons in car trunks. Also exaggerated reflection rendering.

0:08-Steal a tugboat

0:10-Exaggerated car reflection rendering.

0:21-Being able to kill bugs lol

0:50-Being able to hide in dumpsters

0:54-Melee attack with weapons

1:41-Destructible enviroments such as setting buildings on fire.

0:27-Get tattoos

0:28-Watch tv inside a limo lol

0:37-Rooftop to rooftop chases

The reason I listed all of this is because people have taking every little thing from the V trailer(just like the IV trailers) and used it as a hint toward gameplay features. I remember when the IV hype was going on and we all speculated our asses off only to be disappointed that what we expected wasnt true.

The fact is alot of the scenes in the IV trailers were of cutscenes or one time mission features. Notice how many shots of the bank heist there were. Rockstar showed the best scenes from the best missions to make the game seem epic and IMO it fell short of what they presented in these trailers.

So with that said we need to remember this when we set our expectations for V.

This is just a stupid post.

icon14.gif . As I read through these forums, I can tell that the fans of GTA have high expectations for R* (especially w/GTA). Yet, I believe that these expectations are very healthy for R*'s development goals. Not many other developers can expect to crank out a GOTY-quality game for each series installment as R* does with GTA.

have no xbox now, what do you see?

gta san andreas comes up, not really sure why he asked us to bing it though. the day the gta 5 trailer came out i watched it on xbox live dashboard but the next day i couldn't find it, maybe Microsoft accidently put it on xbox live when they weren't supposed to

Not sure if this has been mentioned as there are far too many pages to look through.

If you take a very close look at screencaps from the trailer, do you not think the hobo holding the sign and the protagonist (guy looking out across the city) are one and the same? I know the first trailer is to show the environment and set the atmosphere but why did they decide to show the hobo unless he features in the main storyline in some way or another? Also with regards to the logo and current economic climate, what better than to create than a rags to riches story?

It's difficult to compare exactly as the only view of them we get are from different angles, but I noticed

  • They are pretty much the same age
  • Very similar (if not identical) hair line. Look around the forehead where the hair steps in to meet with the sideburns, and where the hair is receeding (Wayne Rooney style)
  • Stubble line is similar too (as in there is not much stubble right below the bottom lip). Obviously the hobo doesn't have the luxury of being able to shave.
  • Deep recesses below the cheeks running from the nose diagonally downwards and out (outer periphery of where a moustache grows)
  • Similar curvature of eyebrow(s)
  • Nose seems similar but can't really tell from the angles?
  • Similar broad jaw/chin
  • Near identical skin-tone (given the differing lighting in the views of them both)

Clutching at straws? Check for yourself and see what you think, Might help to open the images up in seperate browser windows.

You never know, he could just be a random hobo waiting to meet the bonet of your car.

the protagonist (guy looking out across the city)

You can't know that dontgetit.gif

It's just what the majority of people think and it's quite likely he will play an important part seeing as R* said, "Grand Theft Auto V focuses on the pursuit of the almighty dollar..." so it's plausible he will be either the protagonist or a major part in the game?
