I don't know how to record it but just try to listen carefully in the scene where there are many people waiting(in which one here said that it was a bus stop or something). You can still the crowd w/o voice cancellation. When you use it, it is still not loud enough but at least it is louder than w/o voice cancellation. I do not know to capture audio so can someone please tell me?

Nope. I use the one in Realtek HD Audio Manager. It's just a software where you can modify the equalizer, add some "room effects" and other stuff but it cannot be saved.

 

But don't worry, I'll try another technique: Convert the video to audio file and use another voice cancellation software on it then edit it in Windows Movie Maker(and probably cut it and add the clip from the trailer)so I can upload it to youtube

I was actually amazed with the "crowd- voices" one. Rockstar really put amazing detail. Just imagine walking there listening to your favorite music then it will be ruined by noisiness of the crowd .

Seriously, if that actually turns up in the game and isn't just an effect they added in the background of the trailer (always have to be pessimistic here) it'll be incredible. Along with wonky traffic patterns the dead silence of the city in GTAIV was a mood killer.

 

Edit: I just tried this myself. I couldn't hear any strong crowd noises but it was definitely a blast to be able to hear the background. I used the audio editor in a crappy video editing program, though. We need someone with expertise and better software to mess with it.

I was this close to upping the audio I did with Audacity. I'm glad I didn't waste my time.

 

Anyway, yeah, no crowd noises. Lots of horns, sirens, grunts and barks, though.

Whut? that was not a waste of time! I could hear so many different noises! awesome! I heard the dog bark at first, the sound of traffic (cars whooshing by), birds so clearly twittering in the mountain scene, the convertible top made a retracting sound, wind turbines making sound like real ones, at the scene with the drug dealer I could hear police sirens in the far, truck engine and helicopter rotor. Now I haven't checked if I could hear this in the unedited trailer, but it was the first time I noticed all these sounds and I am impressed!

The wind turbines were a nice surprise. I couldn't hear them at all normally. And the convertible top coming down was noisy as hell -- awesome.

I always felt that there was a mixture of scenes scripted specifically for the trailer, cutscenes for missions, and recordings of random gameplay footage. It was all done in-engine, though, it seems pretty obvious to me.

I think it's mostly unscripted, in fact. Cutscenes are scripted, of course, but I don't think there's more than two or three bits of cutscenes in the whole trailer. They're showing off the new ped AI. The capture team, with total control of time of day, weather, camera, and what to spawn, does free-roam gameplay, moves the camera around, and waits for cool stuff to happen. They also drive the cars, fly the planes, and play it back and redo it till it looks great. Once the map was built it wouldn't have taken long to partially populate it with vehicles and peds and have free-roam gameplay basically up and running in limited areas, just by recycling GTA IV code and whatever they've merged in from RDR. What the trailer really doesn't show any of is mission gameplay, because that was probably the least-done part of the game.

I do hope you're right, but I tend to see the more mundane possibilities. I don't think ped interactions are going to be so in-depth ingame. If I'm wrong, that would be awesome, but I don't believe something just because I want to believe it (I'm not implying that that's what you're doing, of course). Moments like the joggers looking at the guy and laughing, I think those are scripted for the trailer. They could even be parts of the opening cutscene. But I can't know for sure, and again I hope you're right.

I just said what I heard. Try listening to 00:52 - 00:54. Listen carefully and you will hear the "crowd noise" I am saying(or probably I hear it clear because I'm using headphones). The scene at 00:57 - 00:59 you can clearly hear the truck's horn. It's actually impressive.

I don't know if this was posted before.

 

I tried to use voice cancellation on the trailer(it muted the narrator and some layers of the music) and I noticed some very nice things like in the scene where there are many people you can actually hear a number of people talking(like when you are in a crowd of people, you hear noise from voices everywhere) and in the scene with a hobo(the one holding a sign) you can hear the truck that passed blowing it's horn(you can actually hear it w/o voice cancellation but it is not so loud)!

Sorry if these have been mentioned, as I'm a bit late to the party. I've only found 3 minor things that haven't been pointed out already.

 

1. The flags. Interesting to note that Mexico is there. Immagration to be part of the story? It's also trivial yet interesting to note that the flags appear transparent. It is also assumed that there is at least 8 holes of at least 150 yards in length, which would mean quite a large area.

 

2. Splash effects. Also notice the overhanging shoes on the telephone line

Also, the game will have downloadable content like Forza and that s***. The 2nd trailer is very very soon, and in the 1st trailer, there's a hint to when the 2nd one is. Lastly Trains are IN THE Game, though like i said Trains  could or can not be driveable, can't say.
