GTA V Trailer 1

It'll work fine during the day, but how will it work out at night when lights are on inside the building?

He was hoping you would not ask that question ...

I liked the windows in IV. I spent a fair amount of time early on looking at them. Then getting depressed at how few interiors there really were.

icon14.gif I agree, in terms of overall enviornment realism, I also thought that the GTA IV windows looked pretty good in general, day and night. As someone else said, to do more reflections or more apparent interior detail would mean slower graphics processing - I would rather see graphics cycles devoted to street level detail that keeps me thinking that the immediate environment is photorealistic.

I think the consoles are already being pushed to the limit with the massive amount of urban detail.

and???

you can see that in every Gta game you can tell the location just by the way of the enviroment

Certainly I agree that Rockstar has done a great job of creating consistent regional appearances and vibes in different parts of the map. That is one of the greatest aspects of Rockstar's sandbox creations, that you can feel the neighborhood and the countryside change as you travel through it.

But this little podunk liquor store (and possibly a truck sized gas station in the background) seems more like small-town countryside to me - at least as likely to be out in the rural San Bernardino or Bakersfield areas of Southern California. To use all the clues of that scene - the cowgirl hookers, the moving people (probably day laoborers waiting for work) in the background by the tall gas station canopies, the relativley nearby mountains, the dirt road - the vibe that I get is just a good solid example of the California farm / rural / roadway / truck stop environment as expected from the phrase "and surrounding countryside" - no hint of Vegas.

EDIT: and I should add, the video snapshot of the Los Santos street scene with the red car has more than just a Los Angeles vibe, it is a near exact replica of the scene at a real intersection one block from Venice Beach.

It looks like there s a desert layed out on the left.... However , this can also be a strong indication of an unfinished map

The feel of this image has such a strong Las vegas feel to it just like this has a strong Los ageles feel

Okay, but "Liquor Ace" is a pun. Just because it has the word ace in it doesn't necessarily mean Vegas.

What else does it mean then. I mean something with the club, diamond, spade and heart usually mean casinos in vegas/venturas (if it is). And the road in the background looks like it connects to the desert, which most likely could be venturas

Did anyone already notice that building with a roof on it?

Could it be that they will also be in the game?

i hope so smile.gif

But even if it was real, it wouldn't really tell much about the game. Yeah, a guy standing there. Wow.

Yeah, but at least it would be the first "official" screenshot/gameplay which is not directly from the trailer.. so it's not that uninteresting. I mean the trailer was analyzed for frame per frame..

Well, I'm pretty sure that the image is from the trailer, from the jewelry store rob scene.

What's up with you guys? R* already said that LV and SF won't be in the game! So why do you discuss that?

Nevertheles, I admit that the image is pretty interesting...

Also a funny thing about the "ACE Liquor Store" scene: there is a sign that says "Cerveza Barracho". "Borracho" means "drunk" in spanish, although it's misspelled as "barracho". This could mean that the place is near the Mexico frontier. Just a theory.

Has already been posted so many times, dude, and it's obviously fake.

It's a mod for GTA IV... and it's 'guy', not 'gay'. icon14.gif

Seriously doubt it, and I'm from Mexico. A lot of Mexican brands are sold in California thanks to good ol' capitalism.

But man, if a lot of mexican brands are sold in California, then you're supporting my theory.

Well, the town this store is supposedly in is possibly based on Palm Springs, which actually is pretty close to Mexicali, Mexico. Sure, but Los Santos (Los Angeles) is already close to the Mexican border anyway, so a town near the frontier is likely confirmed. I'm still hoping for a Tijuana-based city and a Mexicali-based country town.

My hopes for a Mexico analog were dashed by the LA-centric trailer.

GTASA's first trailer was LA-centric too and look what happen. I'm not getting my hopes up on Mexico though.

*Despite the fact that the inclusion of San Diego and Tijuana should be a no-brainer if R* was serious about recreating SoCal

Since GTAV will be Southern California re-imagined, and since the game map has to be compressed in scale from the real world map anyway, I could imagine that Rockstar might just eliminate the need for San Diego and have the in-game Mexican border be close to the southern edge of Los Santos. They could have a nominal-sized Tijuana area so it is not a huge design job, plus as much Baja desert / coutnryside as they want, re-using elements from RDR.

That looks like someone took a screenshot from the trailer and added some text with a radar symbol over it. I doubt it's a mod for GTAIV because it's the exact same scene from the V trailer and the AK looks exactly the same with the same attachments, a level of detail I wouldn't expect to be replicated for a simple mod.

The background looks like part of it was mirror reversed, and the other part was photoshopped in so it didn't look like the same exact scene.
