GTA V Trailer 1

Los Santos doesn't look that big in the trailer, so I think it is possible that we will be seeing multiple cities. Maybe not San Fierro and Las Venturas, but another city in southern California. The map is surerly going to be huge.

Yeah, I honestly don't know why it wouldn't be all of San Andreas. Los Santos doesn't look that much bigger from the last gen San Andreas. Time will tell, though.

Yh that what I said they will include another city to make it big with country side

2 major cities with big countryside. We all no it's in Los santos let's just wait for the next trailer

Well having a volcano is plausible considering all the little "hints" mentioned previously. But having it erupt? I think that's a negative. Maybe there will be some short, random tremors but I think having it erupt is too much.

having a volcano would be an easy way for them to close off parts of the map until you unlock them, which could mean there is a lot outside the city to explore

anyone else noticed that?

if you look at the trailer you can see the same faces over and over... look at the left girl in the beginning of the trailer at 00:09 and here is her look-a-like at 00:29 only with a tattoo and different clothes and again at 00:56 only now its 3 girls at the same time that looks the same two of them are even wearing the same cowboys hat, now look at the dude on the jetski at 00:19 now here he is again at 00:53 and if thats not enough just look at the guy in the purple shirt with the black scarf at 00:11 and here he is again playing with his phone at 00:36

Also what he says would indicate that he doesn't have a family. Somehow he got back into his line of work and is not a father yet. It would also indicate that he's at least over 35. Don't see what's wrong with a character that's around 40 years of age. Would give the whole game a different view. Being 40 doesn't make you a crippled old man. Some would say those are the best years of your life. The "older dude" looks quite formidable I must say. Johnny was 35 or 36 so what's a few more years. No one complained that Johnny was too old. F..king kids. Seems like only 13 year olds play this game.

Nobody buys a big house in LA to live by themselves. Not unless they're a rapper or they're planning to have lots of parties. And for someone just moving to LA from the east coast, he wouldn't even know anyone to party with.

Also, I'm not saying that this guy is too old to be a decent protagonist, but he's too old to be considering children if he hasn't had them by now. He's got gray hair already.

Okay someone who was planning to start a family would buy a house. So that when he meets his wife they have a nice place to start a family. Not unreasonable. Second a lot of criminals buy big houses, apartments, etc and live by themselves its in their nature.

And as far as his money is concerned it could be that he's got a mortage, bad debt, etc and has to come up with enough cash each month/week to pay for everything if he wants to retain his lifestyle. Lol. That would make for a very realistic, current, bold new approach. Or maybe he invested his money in a truckload of drugs to make that one last deal, pay off his house, cars, apartments etc but the deal has gone bad now he has a big house that's gonna get forclosed on.

As far as multiple MCs go, the most I expect is perhaps that you can make your own MC sort of like how you make people in sims. That or perhaps you only play other characters in mini missions like when your friends tell you about their past in a flashback you play them through the mission they're telling you about. Multiple characthers don't make sense from a gaming point of view. You don't become attached to one as much as you would otherwise.

However multiple storylines do make a lot of sense and I missed that in IV. Like if you decide to be affiliated with one gang that means you can't do work for their enemies or the first gang puts a hit on you. More decisions like in IV when you could either do the deal or kill dimitri. I'd like to be able to make such decisions from the start. And when you make them that has consequences for the rest of the storyline. Like you can go down several compeltely different paths and end in completely different places. Add the possibility of crossing over with other paths down the line and you can easily have 8-10 different possibilities as far as your gameplay is concerned. That would make it bold, interesting, and make for a lot of "secert" possible endings we have to discover. Also you could play the whole game couple of times and always have different missions that intersect with others like you play Niko, Johnny and Luis in that dimond deal. Would be a hell of a game if this was possible from the start.

I am not particularly fond of this idea. I prefer to have a storyline which is linear in nature because if it's done otherwise, how would Rockstar continue to build on the general story? It would minimise returning characters in other games (assuming that the choices you make affect the lives of some characters). Basically, look back at GTA3-era games; there was a fixed "story" shall we say between all the characters in those games.

I don't know if you get my point, as it is quite tedious for me to explain. If not, feel free to ask me to elaborate further.

Well there could be one central stroy with main events that happen regardless of your choices (main characters stay alive, main antagonists are killed or manage to flee, you're introduced to certain people, etc.). But there would be several ways to get to the finish. I understand what you mean but it would be really interesting if done correctly. Makes more sense then multiple MCs anyway. That doesn't make any sense at all in my opinion.

What I'm trying to say is that your choices would have a great effect on your finances. You could rip people off, etc and if you do it correctly then they stay clueless and if they do they put a hit on you. For instance: you could rip off faustin and dimitri would still have you kill him saying that's how you'll repay for stealing from the organization. But if you for instance ripped off Gambetti and steal the vans with drugs inside and offload it yourself then they'd be after you and you'd be in big trouble. I really hope you can rip people off at least the ones that don't matter. Hope you can stick up liquor stores, businesses, banks, people, and also get jumped or shot up in a bad part of town. Or do drug deals, home invasions, etc on the side perhaps form a crew with your friends (like Luis, Armando and Henrique)

makes me laugh that some of you go on, oh hes too old hes got gray hair, blah blah blah. i have been goin gray slowly since i was 21. i couldnt care less if the protag was in his 50s, 50 aint that old now when you stay in shape, and it would give the story more depth with what kind of past he has had. instead of just being a young guy that wants to get rich. plus its only a game.

As long as the decisions are only two, like Yes or No.

Too many dialogue in Mass Effect made me not play it(I'm stuck in the beginning) and even think "How the hell did it win awards and get sequels". Well, you know how it is. Everybody has different tastes/likes

Pulling it off would be too complicated for a game like GTA I would guess. GTA's detail was always biased towards the map and the gameplay. The story, although an important aspect, is there just to accommodate the map. In fact, the way that Rockstar makes GTA games is they first think of a map THEN the story and characters. This shows that the map is a priority over the story thus I think they would prefer investing their time in the map rather than the story. In my opinion, having a solid linear story to go along with the map in GTA5 would be more than enough.

Yeah I suppose map is more important. But sooner or later there will be games with multiple storylines possible. It was just an idea that I threw out there. Pure speculation. Would require too much time I suppose. Hopefully we'll get several activities we can do indefinitely. Like gang wars, drug wars of EFLC, hopefully more then just one.

Yeah, I don\'t think there are many volcanoes in Los Angeles. The nearest one I can think of would be Mt. Saint Helens in Washington.

Thank you, my friend.

I am not very knowledgeable on America's geography so I don't know if there are any potential volcanoes or anything like that. But if there are not any potential volcanoes in the real LA, then I seriously doubt that Rockstar will put one in Los Santos. Unless of course they feature a city in which there are potential volcanoes.

After a google search, it seems there are some volcanoes in the general area of LA, so maybe it is possible if they include something of the sort far away from the in-game Los Santos. (click here)

Guys, can we get two days without this thread straying off into idiocracy? This is a trailer analysis, not a retard analysis, please, get back on topic, we need some more observations.

That was last known one to erupt. There is the Cascade Ranges, which erupt quite violently, and also Mt.Baldy, which is believed to be extinct I think.

Also, Mammoth Mountain on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada has lots of geothermal activity.

Then we have Silverthrone Caldera, Mount Meager, Mount Cayley, Mount Garibaldi, Mount Baker, Glacier Peak, Mount Rainier, Mount Adams,Mount Hood, Mount Jefferson, Three Sisters, Newberry Volcano, Mount Mazama, Mount McLoughlin, Medicine Lake Volcano, Mount Shasta, Lassen Peak (erupted relatively recent), Black Butte.

We don't need this childish banter on an adult forum really.

Why exactly do you doubt it? It will be like Mt. Chilliad, only more interesting. There is nothing keeping Rockstar from adding it in.
