Later on, changed with the 'V' instead of 'Next' (Long time before the announcement of GTA V). Purpose? Secondly, I would like to point out the thread: Revelation. Here, a member named Deepthroatgta4 gave us the location of GTA IV before the trailer. He earned credibility. A better thread for understanding Deepthroatgta4's posts: Link Then came, Where is the Blue? Here, admins changed the logo of GTAV.net with different places inside the V logos. Some logos contained codes when opened with notepad. They had it planned before several months: Link The admins created this poll but removed it after a minute. 5 Guys: Burger and Fries (the place in the logo: in Washington D.C.), 5 Bullets: in the letters in the logo, 5 Letters: G,A,N,E,T. (Also anagram for 'Agent') A member named Hurrikane had found and posted in Genesis, a resume which said that GTAV is to be released in 2011 and he had also found some very rare images of Agent on the same site. A network admin named illspirit had congratulated him saying that he found the blue. This is what Hurrikane found.) Lastly came, Genesis. Here, the credible guy came back with a bang. Posted a pic. The pic contained a tree and a road, the tree and the road were once a part of one of the V logo uploaded by admins during Where is the Blue. Also, the (in)famous filter of deepthroatgta4=Chevy Chase came during this topic. Genesis was binned for a short duration. This was the reason mentioned: What do you mean, genesis? What topic? Sure you're not making it up? But yes. It has now finally served its purpose. The data will be looked over and results published in due time. Til then, locked. Yea, it seems they changed their plans, or maybe we just didn't understand them properly. So, really, it was always out of control. None of it's likely to ever make any sense now. Since only part of it was related to GTA, the rest would be largely irrelevant when/if it does make some sense. It was all supposed to be a bit of fun while waiting for info to be officially released, but since we have info now, it kinda defeats its own purpose. As for an early preview, with GTA titles they usually don't let us see them until a few days before the release date, so you would probably have a good chance of playing it before us by making friends with a manager (or getting a job) at Gamestop or some such. I remember a leaked photo set a day before the announcement came out of a bunch of pictures of LA, SF, and Las Vegas taken by R* employees as well. It will be SA. San Andreas is big and impressive. GTA36362355 Posted October 30, 2011 Author Share Posted October 30, 2011 (edited) Basing all my words on the WiTB topic which was relating to the admins' activity of changing the logo of the GTAV.net, Most Vs pointed towards Washington, The poll came last with those numbers, In the podcast, Andy repeated the word "Washington" six times, 1102 of the poll = 1102 Washington Street of Vice City, (place where Vice City starts). Another connection with Washington. So basing on that I speculate the location to be either Vice City or Washington DC. Why should Vice City always be related to bright colors?? The 80s were bright colored. Its the theme, not the location, that the colors signify. Also, the first cut-scene of vice city: has the words: "The Greens??" I highly doubt that the staff here at GTAForums knew anything relating to Grand Theft Auto V prior to its announcement, and the "GTAV.net" banner at the top of this forum section would've been changed by the Admins as a mere method of stirring speculation. Anotherwords - nothing in it. This could just be a mere reference to GTA: Vice City also, with the Admins changing things to also stir speculation and discussion amongst the community - doesn't mean for sure that Grand Theft Auto V is going to be set in Vice City. SA is not a possible scenario anymore...why can't people understand that. R* wont do something that stupid again. Vice was perfect imo. SA was out of the line. But i still don't think Washington from this...Whats there that appeals R* to make the game in to that location? MOst likely they will move to a better climate for the game, cause they want divercity. Hell, maybe we even get snow. GTAIV was in spring... I really think there are too many threads wondering about stupid stuff that dont matter nothing... I will be really surprised if one of those specualtions came true. Right now i say everyone is jsut telling BS that THEY think is right. How could anyone know whats going to be there in the game??? When comparing it to a game like GTA IV, you forget about how much technology has advanced in 5 years. San Andreas was massive but the content wasn't as rich as Vice. It would be a smart move in my opinion to keep the trilogy order going and revisit Vice City next but hey, it's Rockstar's game. Maybe Carcer City...
