JoeM
Tomorrow lol. Hope it will be May 2012 latest to be honest. Just been on rockstar's home page and MP3 screen shots have 20 comments, GTA V trailer has 1400+ lol. So, that may indicate to R* that more people want GTA, like yesterday lol. Have a feeling it will be October time though, just to annoy me lol.
Isuck100%
Hope it is around April 2012 but more likely October. It's probably been developed for the last 2-3 years anyway it shouldn't take too long especially as they have IV as the template for the graphics standards. Someone pointed out that Saints Row came out in the same month as IV now SR3 will be out already. They did both seem to take the same amount of time with making their respective games. V will be out 6-12 months after SR3, talking considerablly longer. Lets hope this means there's A. No delay B. It's more detailed/bigger that SR3. Also, in response to the guy apparently working for Rockstar on facebook who gave the apparent release date as 05/09/2012. We don't know if thats the American way to tell the date or the Euro way. It says he's from the Nederlands but he's living in New York. It's May or Sept, they are both Wednesdays. First of all, Saints Row 2 came out 6 months after GTA IV. And GTA IV is already light years more detailed than any Saints Row title, including "The Third". I can't even imagine how detailed GTA V's world will be, but I honestly don't know how they can top GTA IV.
damian001
Anything's possible, Apple likes to keep their products top-secret, then have them launched in stores exactly a month later. Whose to say Rockstar North wasn't working on it the entire time? It's already been 3.5 years since IV came out. R* North was able to push out Vice City and San Andreas within a 3 year timeframe of III's release. Plus, we already have the engine and the physics. Mostly everything's in set-stone if we decide to reuse it just like VC and SA did. But I honestly don't see anything until May 2012 as the earliest. And even that's doubtful because Max Payne 3 comes out a mere two months before. The first LA Noire trailer that showed gameplay (not the CGI teaser from 2006) came out in Nov 2010, and we saw the game have a full release by May 2011. So saying May as a release isn't entirely too wishful thinking. Looking back even more, the first IV trailer came out in March 2007, with the game slated for the original October 2007 release. That was only a 6-7 month wait. The LA Noire trailer was also a 6-7 month wait. Max Payne 3's trailer came out in September, and it's seeing a March release, another 6-7 month wait. Half a year is pretty much the time used to make fans really interested into a game, and it shows in Rockstar's past history of their releases. If you want another full-fledged latest, but mostly possible, I'd say October 2012 is a likely candidate. But then again, we haven't seen an October release for a GTA game since god knows how long. IV was supposed to be initially released on October 2007, but it got delayed to April 2008. I guess you could blame IV indirectly for Red Dead Redemption and LA Noire having release dates of May 2010 and 2011. As we know, those games were delayed numerous times too. The last game I remember released in an October was Midnight Club: LA back in 2008. If they released IV then, and MC:LA within a year, then its entirely possible to see a Oct 2012 release. StickyWickett
24th of May 2012/13. In the trailer, there is the number 2405 on the curb in the house for sale scene. Euro date (R* North are Scottish): 24/05, 24th of May. The song used in the trailer is "Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake" by The Small Faces. This record was released on the 24th of May 1968. Possibly related: The first four numbers on the tail of the plane at the end of TBoGT's credits are 2405.
Zotak
Wishful thinking, I'd dare to say a june/july 2012 release, otherwise it'll be around october 2012 (no possible delays included)
Karly
Whenever the release date it's gona drag like hell. Im hoping Spring 2012 though. I just can't see a year wait from today's trailer.

mcstupidfun
April or May. An amazing surprise would be the game is done and its on shelves in 3 weeks but yah, spring next year is my guess. No one cares about Max Payne (compared to GTA). They don't have to build up hype for a year. GTA has a fanbase. A trailer or two and a release date should suffice. Its always the previous fans and word of mouth. I'm pretty much over video games at this point but GTA is one I'll still buy on release day. LazlowsucksiloveslutS
I remember that GTAIV was announced around the time VCS was released. It was October/November 2006.First GTAIV trailer came in March 2007 and finally game was released in April 2008. If GTAV does get released in May 2012,that would be a helluva nice birthday present. I don't want good old Sam Houser and developers to rush either. The longer it takes, the more abundant the game will be. Seeing the trailer, the streets seemed pretty empty, seems like a lot of work is yet to be done.

warriorofsanandreas
October 2012. I'm going to be shocked and happy if earlier but I don't want any rushed stuff to so the game comes out faster, they should just make the game "very good" or "Awesome, and it's worth to play for years to come." so that's why I'm hoping for a Q4 2012 release. I don't need to worry about it now tho, I'll just focus on other games for the time being.......

damian001
Eh... GTAforums politics at it again. You just reminded me why I don't post at this forum a lot. I'm not even gonna bother with the formatting; seeing that the thread was locked, about 5 people will only take the time to read my post now; while the GTAV section is riddled with people coming up with less innovative threads and half-assed speculations with little-or-no-thought put into their posts. Or even better yet, no relevant information coming up with the game! But if it appeases you, I copied and pasted my post in here, all just for you. Just a crosspost from another thread I posted in. Now, remember, this is all CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE. It's not direct evidence or "proof" if you'd like to use the correct term; unlike what I've been seeing a lot on GTAforums for the past week. Please get it right. Anyways onto my post. This post will be talking about when Rockstar released the first introductionary trailers for all games in the current generation (PS3/360). If you noticed, they all had their initial release date about 6 months after the first trailer: GTA IV's first trailer came out in March 29, 2007. It's original release date was slated for October 17, 2007; but as we all know, the game got delayed. About a 6.5 month original wait. Sources: Upload date of first trailer. Article stating original release date & delay. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/810/810238p1.html Red Dead Redemption was also delayed numerous times, but its first trailer came out on May 6, 2009, with an original planned release date of late October 2009. About a 5.5 month original wait. Sources: Upload date of first trailer. Article stating the original release date & the delay http://www.shacknews.com/article/58786/maf...dead-redemption LA Noire's first gameplay trailer (not the CGI one from 2006) was released last year on November 11, 2010, and the game saw its release on May 17, 2011. A 6 month wait. Sources: Upload date of first trailer. We already know the game saw its release on May 2011. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LfZq_OdU80 And hell, I'll just throw in Max Payne 3 in here too. First trailer came out in September 14, 2010. Game planned for release in March 2012. 6 months again. Source of trailer release date and anticipated game release date. Once again, all of these had around a 6 month waiting time; provided that there are no delays. That's just how Rockstar does its marketing. Thanks for reading. Yeah, it's just that if we didn't keep on with some rules, nobody would look at anyones topics, they'd just keep making new ones and good topics, will get pushed down quicker. Gomack
Seeing the trailer, the streets seemed pretty empty, seems like a lot of work is yet to be done. Are we watching the same trailer? The streets looked very detailed and fleshed-out to me. There's always room for more polishing of course, but not if it means we have to wait 13 months instead of 6, I can't wait that long damn it! I honestly think R* would have waited to release the teaser if they were planning an October release. I have faith in R*, they wouldn't be so cruel to their fans, teasing us like this just so we can spend an entire year in anticipation. IV was an exception because of delays. I hope I'm right...
