Grand Theft Auto V Announced

Theoretically there SHOULD be a new era, just as it's been about the III era.

III Era:

1. GTA III

2. GTA Vice City

3. GTA San Andreas

 

IV Era:

1. GTA IV

2. GTA Lost and Damned

3. GTA Ballad of Gay Tony

 

I repeat myself, theoretically, it should be a new era.

I wonder how much information they are going to give us in this first trailer? I realize it will probably be short. I simply can't wait.

They'll give us the bare minimum needed to get us hungry for more. We'll probably get a location, theme and protagonist and a general plot line. But the rest we'll have to uncover ourselves by re watching the trailer second by second.

That's exactly what happened with IV, I'm pretty sure I watched the trailer about 100 times trying to find something different everytime.

I realize this won't be the case with the teaser trailer, but I enjoy when people start putting the mini-maps together from different parts of the video in an attempt to get an idea of the map.

I see where your coming from Miro and I do sort of agree but people can argue against theory and say that TLAD And TBOGT are DLC's. Then again they weren't exactly a DLC

1. "Rockstar presents

a Rockstar North Production"

-Logo smashes in on the screen and V shines , than overshadows the location name and the hyped up music begins like SA has begun for example:

 

 

 

2. Some wild action mixed with the setting time-lapse , all fit in to form a perfect composition of a trailer!

 

3. "GTA V, coming to (?) platforms - i expect PS3 and 360 , time (?)" , i expect this time next year.

Out of all trailers, TBOGT first trailer blew me away with hype. I watched it almost 50 times trying to analyze every detail!

GTAV is probably nearly out of development, or it should be and onto the testing stage by now. Teasers are normally done whilst the game is in its early stages of development just to keep people enticed. They don't need to do this for GTAV, there is enough interest surrounding the game.

As much as I want them to set it outside of the US at some point, they won't move it outside the states just yet, and if they do it will be in somewhere like London.

I don't think they'll implement that, but if they did they could use it in the mini-game things without it affecting the main game.

Hmm. I'm not sure it is out of development. Looking at some other recently released games they are working on it right up till the last few weeks until the game goes gold, and then they move straight onto a patch. They are probably 6+ months out yet, the game is perhaps 90% complete in terms of content, but only 50% in terms of fixing bugs, optimisation, perfecting all the small things (car handling, weapon damage etc).

 

But yeah, i guess they could more or less show us the game and everything that will be in it with pretty good accuracy.

 

Kinda insane to think there is a whole new world of GTA5 out there just a few hours drive from where i live, which at least content wise, is pretty complete. Though i bet if you sat down to play it for a few hours you'd come off in extreme rage at the 101 game breaking bugs

It won't be a new era because they can't just end IV storyline without any other reason than X720/PS4 release. III is an old era because it was released on PS2, IV is a next era because it was released on PS3. It's a clear economy guys. They will make a new era only when a new generation will come for younger guys who don't know about old GTA's. It's like, San Andreas has a lot of references from VC and III but with a new consoles (X360, PS3) they've decided that we need something fresh and begin something that new GTA series fans will make sentimentals to. So they've announced a new era, IV era. And now, if guys that met GTA from IV first, now they'll have their own sentimentals from V. Because V will continue IV plot.

 

And Packie is no possibility. He surely will feature in GTA V like Paul from Vice City featured in San Andreas. But he won't be main character because most of us expect something new and fresh. A NEW character.

Which is a shame in one sense, but then you think again: Grand Theft Auto is America. I don't think it would be the same.

Rockstar have an entire studio dedicated to testing the games, if they've announced a game and a trailer then they are probably not far off finishing development. I reckon we're looking at a release of around May / Summer timer.
