It's a casting call from R* themselves. In what other game franchise other than GTA will you find characters such as these? Max Payne? Red Dead? No...

 

I'm just trying to give you all a heads up as best I can.

I don't understand how people are failing to get IT WILL BE Los Santos, at least.

 

I have a doubt that it'll be more than that, though I think we'll get some country side. I don't expect Fiero or Venturas this time around. Unless they approach it in a similar way to the DLCs for IV, but each city is a separate story, with each other city inaccessible.

Am I the only one who's insanely nervous? I mean, what if the trailer proves that none of our complaints were addressed? I'll buy the game regardless, but I've still gotten way too comfortable with the idea that there will be car modification, better damage, better physics, and better everything. If there's not, I can't say I won't be disappointed.

Im pretty sure that if they have made the changes that many people have asked for, they will show it off as early as possible in their marketing campain. For example the opening shot of the trailer could have a plane flying overhead, or over a landmark!

I'm just gonna say this. If it is in Los Santos and the rest of San Andreas isn't there, I will be really disappointed. I don't think it would be too hard. Los Santos, Venturas and Fiero could be the size of Alderney, Algonquin, Broker/Dukes then have the countryside in between. I doubt that is too hard, especially since not as much detail has to go into countryside.

I would have NO problem with Los Santos. In fact I would love for Los Santos to be featured. But that's the key word "featured." You can't just have one city from a previous game, re-do it and then magically forget about the rest. If they are gonna do Los Santos, they need the rest of San Andreas.

 

"Hey guys, remember that San Andreas state you all had a blast playing? Well that was based in '92, in the GTA universe... well there was like this big earthquake a few years later which separated Los Santos from the rest!"

 

In other words, it will just seem really odd knowing there is more to that environment. It will also be sad that the other parts couldn't be featured. Like I said, 3 cities the size of Algonquin and countryside in between? Surely that wouldnt be hard.

Very good point. If V takes place in Las Venturas only and you're like "It's great yeah but I miss SF, LS and all this freedom" that would be a bit non-Rockstar style. That's my thinking right now... so does this mean we're gonna see Vice City again or something different like Anywhere City? With this f*ckin' greenish logo ? Perhaps WHOLE San Andreas? You really got me to think about R*'s politics in situating the games places. It might be a trick for our little minds. Everyone bets Las Venturas and Ireland (guys, come on...) but maybe it will be something very different. First, let me take this in steps:

 

Liberty City - 99,99% no, because last game took place there.

 

Vice City - possibility but the greenish in it and gangsta tape with black letters "FIVE" on it makes me think of something else than sunny VC.

 

London - 99,99% no for this city, for Ireland and for whole Europe. America is the only place for GTA.

 

Los Santos - it already featured in LA Noire as Los Angeles. It would be kinda boring to come back so quick to the same place only with a bit different vibe but same buildings...

San Fierro - hmm. Possibility for me. Makes me think of San Andreas' San Fierro Rifa gang which was hispanic. And the V logo works for this hispanic vibe. Perhaps a hispanic main character too?

 

Las Venturas - everyone talks about this one because it's a famous rich fun city and the logo clearly shows us some money resemblance of Washington DC bank notes. That would work.

 

Whole San Andreas - I don't know guys. Comeback to LC in GTA IV was something really cool because LC was a bit forgotten but still sentimentally minded city. And it was fun to play again in this city but in a more realistic way, more New York City style. But whole San Andreas? It's possibly the most famous place of all GTA places ever. And it's the biggest one. It's not one city, it's a whole state of 3 big cities with countries, mountains and deserts in between them. Then it must be AT LEAST 2 times bigger than LC from IV! Too big for the engine I think. So in my opinion - no SA in V.

 

Something different - possibility too. A completely different city, never featured in any GTA before (alright, Anywhere City from GTA 2 doesn't counts). R* likes to surprise fans. When everybody thinks about Vice City or some other GTA already featured place, they might shot our heads with something really different. So, we can only guess by this. Texas? Alabama? Hawaii? Washington? Who knows. But still, I don't believe any GTA will be outside USA borders. Small chance. MAYBE Toronto, because it's a rich and interesting city... and close to US.

 

 

And the main character? Well, we had:

Claude Speed - white Pole .

Tommy Vercetti - white American, considering the surname, he had Italian family.

Carl Johnson - black American.

Toni Cipriani - white Italian American.

Victor Vance - black American/Dominican.

Nikolai Bellic - white Serbian

Jonathan Klebitz - white American.

Luis Fernando Lopez - black American/Dominican.

Huang Lee - yellow Chinese.

 

So basicaly, most of the GTA characters were white Americans (3 of them). We also had 1 black American (CJ), 1 Italian American (Cipriani, Vercetti isn't really), 1 European (Bellic), 1 Chinese (Lee) and 2 American/Dominican (Lopez and possibly Vance). Considering that lastly developers like to give us something different than white Americans, I expect something different. My bet is Italian / Mexican / Spanish character. The V logo also makes me wonder of San Fierro Rifa which was hispanic. Or British one maybe? With an accent! .

Assuming it's all legit and not plants by R* or rubbish from ppl, I'm getting more and more convinced of this whole Vegas thing.

 

Only trouble is, I was never a fan of the Las Venturas-end of GTA-SA. It seemed the point where all the ideas dribbled away.

Hope they can fix that this time.

That said, Vegas in the 70s/80s would be WINRAR. Mobsters, casinos, nice. Today LV is just disneyland-with-hookers. Dull.

It was ground-breaking then. It's ground-breaking now. It's just that we've already played the storyline. If a newbie modded with iCEnHANCER and then began the storyline together with the graphical update you're playing a graphically-up-to-snuff title, for like, $20.

Remember in LA Noire it was actually LA back in 1947. It was mainly Hollywood. The GTA cities are different because they use real life locations for inspiration, but are mostly R*'s interpretation.

 

A current gen Los Santos in no way would feel like LA in LA Noire IMHO.

Yes it is i have given two big clues of the release date which i have worked out. 1.) on the tail of the plane of TBOGT credits 24/05/1972 or 24/05/2012 and the annoucement date with 11+2+11 = 24 and the letters FIVE to get the fifth month May and them together 24/05/2012 there is the release date

A bit off-topic, but the RAGE engine is their own creation, and has no limits. They created it, they can tweak it to their liking to get any results they may want. IV was the base, it only scratched the surface of what the RAGE engine is capable of. TLAD and TBOGT dug a bit deeper, but this time it's a ditch, and V will surpass anything you have ever seen. Faked sources would have been more unbelievable than those leaked sources everyone is saying I post. If they were fake, they'd be more in-depth instead of little fabrications like "it's the big one" and "well underway".

 

Common sense points towards the most amazing gaming sandbox gaming experience you could imagine.

If the trailer came later, we could safely assume it would be a normal release, but the overall feel of this whole announcement is a RUSHed one.

Yes i do and i have got the release date and proof at 13:04 of TBOGT credits on Youtube and the announcement date with adding them together and the letters FIVE on R* homepage.
