"Grand Theft Auto San Andreas" and "Grand Theft Auto V" share 3 words the same. 3 means III.

S + A = V

an + andreas = nothing

GTA V has four words, four = GTA IV

V in GTA V refers to VC

 

So the game is obviously in Washington DC.

GTA in 1907's USA?? It isn't going to happen I think It would be boring. There were not many cars back then, and we already have RDR for horses

We are not at all suggesting the game will take place in 1907.

We are just showing that this is where they took the design of the logo from, disproving earlier doubts that the game would not be set in the USA.

I hope they got there logo from that and thats it. GTA in 1907? Dont make me puke. That would be stuped.

 

I hope they will remake the VC or SA map and it will be set in modern times. GTA IV proved that modern times have the most advantages like the cars, cell phone and ingame internet.

One last thing to ponder, one of the most viewed Pre-Release trailers, using another game it seems, showed dark imagery of the user (Scotty, was it you!?!?) loading their PS3 with GTA IV and the game's opening display, over a black and white water ...a camera view shifts in ever closer to the suspected GTA land mass. It was eerily similar in some ways, as it turns out with the actual game showing you on the ship as it docks in LC harbor!! I thought that another odd thing to forget or dismiss.

This is over 55 years BEFORE Red Dead Redemption takes place.

I wasn't suggesting that but the codename could be Rush due to it being a shortened version of Gold Rush.. which relates somewhat to the money theme in the logo. Then again it could be a reference to Mount Rushmore.. which depicts several US Presidents including George Washington. All of this is purely speculation however.

Just to think this is just the GTA V logo. Imagine what this place will be like when the first trailer's released? I've said this before, but regardless of what some think about GTA IV I knew as soon as GTA V was announced in some fashion this place would go off like an atomic bomb.

The fact that Grand Theft Auto's as a crime would not of even existed makes anything before about 1920 totally ridiculous. Though in my opinion anything before the 70's is highly doubtful.

 

I think they are much more likely to stick to present day. Vice City in the 80's or whatever has been done. Skipping forwards 30years or so to now gives them a great excuse to reimagine Vice City, so that it is essentially only the same by name.

 

This is of course assuming the location is Vice City.

It would be funny if after the GTA 5 trailer ended, it would read:

"Now go to your nearest Gamestop...

cuz our announcement date

IS our release date"

And then everyone goes crazy!

That would be so awesome, but people would know well before the trailer there is no way once they release it out into the wild of the stores, that they can't keep the secret.

You never know, Apple tends to keep their projects a top-secret. After a product launches, it's usually in store shelves within 2-4 weeks.

It could be done, it would require some planning from Rockstar though.
