Wow..... I may be too late but did anyone remember how we supposedly got "images" of the game (or at least pictures taken by Rockstar) showing LA, SF and LV? I think those really were real, and Rockstar probably decided to announce the game more earlier than expected, just like how MW3 was announced earlier than expected due to leaks.

And they will all be fully devoted to the GTA V section, head over to the Gaming section, its safe there from the soon to be hazardous mob.

OMG!!! A few months ago, me and a few other people said that when GTA V is announced, it will be like an atomic bomb went off in the forum.

 

It just happened.

 

Also, I'm surprised that it's GTA V and not GTA: Next (although they might change it, maybe). The design looks like some of the GTA SA graffiti(so it could be GTA SA).

The game will be called GTA V, the logo is there for all to see it wont be changing.

You're right, I just thought it was too soon to go to a new era.

Who knows, its strange that the Grand Theft Auto 5 announcement has taken over the entire website. I guess they know how important GTA is and they are disregarding everything else on their website right now...?

I was thinking it will stay like that for 24 hours from the time it changed which is a little over 12 hours from now. By that time I think EVERYBODY IN THE WORLD will have heard the news.

I'm pretty pumped about this myself. Haven't posted in the V forums in a long, long while, if ever, but I spent a lot of time speculating on GTA IV's release around when I first joined these forums.

Probably a few days after/before the trailer. But isn't this too close to Max Pain 3? Most of the hype might transfer to GTA V.

I totally agree, It was fun but annoying at the same time to follow the Genesis thread and all the lunacy that ensued.

Maybe D3EPTHROAT will get a nod as an online username in-game or something, we all know Rockstar look at the forums from time to time, and something such as that made a strange impact and made you think twice about some things lol

I don't dismiss it so handily, what is your reasoning? I would say I'm more inclined to thinking DeepT is an independent here and his posting style just left everyone wondering, again, I'm half joking since some ideas WITHIN Genesis were not "sh*t"

I would just like to chime in on the whole Vice City thing( it will do doubt get lost in the billion posts per hour but ohwell)

What if it's not just Vice City but something along the lines of Vice State, Florida is home to alot of wealthy people. It's also a big vacation spot with disney land, the keys and even Miam it'self is a big hot spot due to the glorification throughout the 80s with Miami Vice and Scarface and even most recently CSI Miami. Florida is also a hub for drug importation and human trafficking.

It was reported this is going to be a big one so a state would make sence to me. They could also if they wanted to add in Liberty City or Cuba as well, that could help play on the drugs or human smuggling bit, take a cigarette boat full of coke and deliver it to Alderny all while being chased by DEA and pirates ect. Although I would love to have a GTA game based around what I just said I'm going to put my money on a new location all together but same concept.... "Grand Theft Auto San Andreas" and "Grand Theft Auto V" share 3 words the same. 3 means III.

S + A = V

an + andreas = nothing

GTA V has four words, four = GTA IV

V in GTA V refers to VC

 

So the game is obviously in Washington DC.

And then everyone goes crazy!

That would be so awesome, but people would know well before the trailer there is no way once they release it out into the wild of the stores, that they can't keep the secret.

You never know, Apple tends to keep their projects a top-secret. After a product launches, it's usually in store shelves within 2-4 weeks.

I definitely agree with wildlife, and I have said before: I don't see why all the animals from Read Dead Redemption can't someway be integrated with GTA to make the life that bit more realistic.

Obviously the game setting would determine the animals and the amounts/locations etc.

One last thing to ponder, one of the most viewed Pre-Release trailers, using another game it seems, showed dark imagery of the user (Scotty, was it you!?!?) loading their PS3 with GTA IV and the game's opening display, over a black and white water ...a camera view shifts in ever closer to the suspected GTA land mass. It was eerily similar in some ways, as it turns out with the actual game showing you on the ship as it docks in LC harbor!! I thought that another odd thing to forget or dismiss.
