I can't help to think that'll it be set in present day, especially if it's released in 2012.

There's too much going on right now in this world to poke fun at. The whole doomsday thing, that'll be so funny to hear about in GTAV (..assuming it's set in 12').

Haha that would be so GTA! People calling Lazlow to talk about the 2012 Judgement Day theory. It could be very similar to LCS when people were calling about the Millenium Bug.

Seeing fellow fans around the interwebz going mad during the final hours of waiting, that's gonna be a lot fun. But the days leading up to that just suck. The final few hours of wait is gonna be a blast though, just sharing the excitement with all the fans

Absolute limit is the 80s for me...anything before that would destroy GTA. We have Mafia and LA Noire already, certainly don't need another one. I'll consider it a step backwards if they go before modern-day.

I think... Dollar = symbol of WHOLE America. So it could be ANY state and ANY city. Maybe we're gonna see something... different? A hybrid of many, many American cities? Or whole America?

I also belive that money is gonna play a bigger part of the storyand maybe even the gameplay,the only GTA game that you really needed money was vice city (in order to buy estates to play missions)all the other games money wasnt really needed at all

I don't see how a bigger role in money would playout well in the storyline, fine if you can get the money and buy stuff then cool, if it's like IV with much money with little to spend, f*ck it.

Money extends and stretches gameplay. Why? It creates freedom and a wide variety of chance. For example, you have the choice to buy your own personal car (like Bully's bikes) or a safehouse. You can't have both. Also, another example, you have no money at all - therefore you can't afford to get a safehouse. You're allowed to save in parks across the game. Or, another example, you are so low on cash you're living in motels (which are temporary safehouses that allow you to save the game for 1-10 in game days).

Words cannot describe how pumped I am for this trailer! This is definitely the best gaming news in while! I really hope that, whatever the location, the sound track is as good as IV. IV had the best radio stations imho, especially JNR, that station just fits the whole "New York", Liberty City vibe the best.
