To me, GTA would make more sense as a male protagonist. Not that I'm a sexist or anything, it just fits better.

You never know how it'll fit until it happens. I vaguely remember, back in the mists of time, there was a bit of a "reaction" when it was revealed that the main character of SA would be black. Now no one cares.

Lol unless it was GI Jane some ex special forces chick which makes no sense because they dont even accept females, would it make sense for a female as protagonist. Saints row is for humor not for realism, if a female tried to jack my car in real life id punch her in the face and drive off i mean seriously unless its some lesbian fat chick from prison would it even be possible lol and thats a stretch because they cant run lmao.

I would be sweet indeed. I'm rather jealous of people who either haven't found out yet or have only just found out. Especially the former. As much as I screamed like an excited little girl when I found out, this waiting is almost unbearable. I'm an impatient chap anyway so that doesn't help at all. But yes, your magic pill would be an amazing thing right now.

Main characters with a background story has been an essential part of GTA since GTAIII, it's one of the things that Rockstar does best. Saying you want a fully customizable character in a Rockstar games is giving them the biggest finger you can give to anybody. "You take the time to come up with an elaborate character in each game, f*ck you! I want to make my own."

I agree. Giving the player total control over their character would be too much and would just have a detrimental effect on the game's storyline. I don't think being able to tweak the character's appearance more or even their gender would do any damage though... as long as the background story is still there.

 

But it's not really a big issue I suppose.

Agreed. But I also can't take the game seriously playing as a woman. I'm not sexist but it just wouldn't be the same IMO.

what saints row does is use animation sets per gender. The people you talk to on there dont say your name either. it would be similar to claude. That means the character can be YOU.

Yeah, GTA's legacy is only still standing for a genius masterplan to unfold soon, fully in creation in this very moment; a female protagonist/antagonist so the zombie males and lesbians can get "horny". You must share the upcoming award for 'Not only most meaningful, but also articulate post of 2011' with Leve-O's comment about girl television though.

 

 

I hope that my mediocre net connection and the mass amount of people storming the place will actually allow me to watch the trailer within the first hours after release. I'm curious for the location. Also, I really hope that when R* involves a foreign (main?) character again, they will finally get the pronounciation right. I think that they are a very respectful company as far as cultures and countries go, but they tossed IV's background story out of the window by getting voice actors who would mispronounce names and the spoken language throughout the entire game. You don't have to be Serbian to correctly pronounce the language, it only takes practice and respect. I'm only highlighting IV now, it happened in too many R* games.

Like seriously, the Jamaicans in R* games don't act like their real-life counterparts. I met one yesterday, and he thought he was a kind of Jesus. He caught me on my daily walk and asked for a joint, so I told him I didn't have one, and he asked for a cigarette, which I gave him. But for the first twenty-five minutes I understood NOTHING that he said. He spoke way too fast and his accent was so thick! And he kept going on about being the chosen one... biggrin.gif Anyway, Auntie Poulet from Vice City is haitian, not Jamaican, so I don't get her accent...

dont worry. Its not gonna be set in the early 1900`s. The logo is from an early bill yes, but there is probably a story behind it. It wont be set back then. They wont risk it im sure. They have mafia and la noire to screw up like that.

If it were upto me, I'd leave out multiplayer. In both GTA IV and RDR, people just seemed to cluster in one area of the map and run around like headless chickens killing for unlocks. Seemed kind've pointless to me. bored.gif

I'm pretty sure that won't happen...1900's dosen't even seem like a possiblity, I honestly never see Rockstar going farther back than the 70's in a GTA game. moto_whistle.gif

God i HOPE not.

 

gta iv and RDR were awesome in SP ( RDR much more) but without online it would have been forgotten by gamers much more quicker. I mean on steam gta iv still pulls over 2000 people every day and on the ps3 and 360 its high in terms of people on-line.

 

 

Driving around is fun but driving around with friends is 10x better. Creating scenarios is sometimes more fun than doing missions.
