If you don't know what you're talking about, don't pretend that you do. There is absolutely no tech limitation that prevents 5, 10, or 100 cities.

very true. Think about how little ram the 360 and ps3 has and how little video mem it has. its because they use special tech to port it and somehow it works. Ask companies like that your self. My cousin works for nintendo and makes systems and brags about it alot so i know about that.(not that nintendos good or anything). but you get the idea.

Not if they use multiple discs for the 360. Like Vice city on 1 disc and San andreas on one disc the stories can still connect BUT you have to change discs when you gonna go over to the other.

yea i agree. All they gotta do for consoles is have a lower draw distance. then pc needs alot of ram and a good Video card. colgate.gif

Really, really stupid. So, when I want go to San Andreas from Vice City, I will have to change the discs? And what if one will be missed? I think R* has a lot of more to do than making 5 stupid cities to make it BIG as hell. I don't see a point in making the BIGGEST PLACES IN DA WORLD. One average sized - but a detailed one - and I'll be very happy.

Agreed. It's entirely possible, but it depends on how they're compressing everything. I still say they should use substances, but RAGE doesn't use that, so yeah... I doubt it's five cities, maybe just Los Angeles with the outlying region of countryside... But, after thinking long and hard, I'm now pretty sure it's going to be Vegas. And I'm even more sure that we're going to have an Irish-American protagonist.

not stupid. All they gotta do is either:

 

A. overburn all the data to 1 DVD. (10 GB can be over burned onto a 4 GB disk)

B. Force 360 owners to use a hard drive.

Pipe down. There are no tech problems of making five cities, or more, and putting it all one one disk. If you still think it's a bad idea, it's a different question, but if all you have to back it up is that "you can't do it" and "it's stupid", you're very wrong, and you should cut your losses.

No, it can't. Please, don't try to answer a stupid argument with a more stupid counter-argument. Trust me, he'll find something even more stupid to reply with, and we'll be here all day.

 

There is no tech limitation. It can be done. You don't need any special techniques for it. There isn't a problem with it in the first place.

Possibly longer than that, they may have begun preliminary work when they were working on IV - it's a possibility.

That is true, it is always a possibility, and maybe if a different studio started it it could have been worked on for ages before sigh.gif

ive always believed that the way the gtaiv tech is... who knows, gta IV may of have been in development since GTA 3 shipped lol.gif

 

never know though.

I bet the Xbox 360 will interfere with GTA V again with getting rid of some content to make it fair. The PS3 and PC can cope no problems, the Xbox 360 can't cope if it is a huge,huge map

There are plenty of games with MUCH bigger maps that run or would run on 360 with no problems. Yes, corners will have to be cut because of 360, but map size doesn't have to be one of them. Don't worry about it.

There are plenty of games with MUCH bigger maps that run or would run on 360 with no problems. Yes, corners will have to be cut because of 360, but map size doesn't have to be one of them. Don't worry about it.

yea and think about it, GTA SA has a HUGE map, and still you can fly and swim as far into the ocean as you want. Theres LOTS of room to expand and if the ps2/xbox can do it, so can ps3/360. colgate.gif

I dont understand why a huge map is all that important anyway? I would rather have a detailed and impressive map then have a huge one filled with large open spaces with nothing of interest in it. (LA Noire's map springs to mind here)

 

Yes San Andreas had a big map and it worked well for that game, but it doesn't mean it will work for every GTA title.

When did I say I knew what I was talking about? In fact, if you read my post from yesterday, I mentioned that we all knew as much as each other. I show respect to people who earn it, spouting a crazy theory or saying you know its gonna be San Andreas just because doesn't earn my respect

When did I say I knew what I was talking about? In fact, if you read my post from yesterday, I mentioned that we all knew as much as each other. I show respect to people who earn it, spouting a crazy theory or saying you know its gonna be San Andreas just because doesn't earn my respect
