Moth
The only cars I know my dad had before I was born, were a black GMC Vandura and either a Dodge Dart or a Plymouth Duster. Beyond those two cars, I have no f*cking idea. Cars my dad had since had: A white 1992 Toyota Corolla White 1990 Toyota Tercel White Pontiac Trans Sport Red 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring, which is his current car Cars my mom had Eagle Vista Steel Blue 2001 Dodge Caravan Dark Grey 2010 Ford Focus. My mom did not have any cars before she came to Canada. Flachbau 1 Formerly known as The General
Lurch
I think it's safe to say that Starion's dad wins the cool car ownership challenge (by a mile). The General's parents lose the challenge (by a mile).

Lurch
In my opinion Illousion's parents had some sweet rides. Uh...not really. Downsized smogged Cadillacs and automatic Volvos aren't really that cool. Caddys were cool when they were the size of your average WW2 era tank and had an engine bigger than one. Those were cool. Sevilles...not so much. That was nothing more than a little rebadged Nova. And fireguy's parents and family... wow. Now there are some actual cool ones there. Although majority of them seem to be owned by other relatives. The Vega drag car and the old Ford street rod were the only notable ones he owned. A 67 Impala wasn't really anything special unless it had a big block. Starion's dad has owned consistently cool cars and a good number of them have been documented on here for the past half decade. Not many people here had these in their driveway. Not to mention the Triumphs, the hot Fords, the SD1, the Twin Turbo Z, and the Turbo Starion. Korpi
Not many people here had these in their driveway. I find nothing cool or special about a couple of newer BMW's. But hey, that's just my opinion and as much as i dont like todays cars anyway. And I got nothing personal or anything against you, Lurch. 30's to 80's. Now those were the days when they made cool cars. And the best cars. Edited October 21, 2011 by Markwey

bluesboyjr
My dad never passed his test, but my mum has owned (during my lifetime, anyway) a 1st gen Nissan Micra, a 2nd gen Rover 200, a 2nd gen Ford Mondeo and two 3rd gen Ford Mondeos (the first had to be replaced after some moron managed to write it off while it was parked in our driveway). It's only now I realise what incredible taste my mother had in bland second-hand cars.
Flachbau
I really hate to bump old ass topics, but this is a great one. So many interesting vehicles your parents' have drove. My mom never drove, so it's only my dad. My knowledge is very spotty from my memories of him telling me stories, so here it goes: Always used to tell me about this one car.. it's name started with a Y.. Yugo, maybe? Then there's this, I do see a Honda emblem but I'm not sure on the exact model. 1980's VW Rabbit GTI There's a large gap in what I know, so I'll just skip to current decades 2002 Dodge Caravan. sh*tty power steering issues.. I think there was an issue with the transmission, as well. It was a company car. It was a dark green mixed with blue color After the van, we got a 2008 Ford Escape XLS. Another company vehicle. Kiwi green in color He was terminated from his job afterwards in 2010. A year later, we got a white 2008 Ford Explorer. We're about to hit 80k miles on it. Sean O'God
My dad has a history of driving Japanese cars. When my dad lived in Dubai, he drove an '84 Prelude (brand new at the time) as a teenager. I know he also drove a Mitsubishi Galant at one point as well. Other than that, he's driven nothing else that stands out AFAIK. Sadly, he doesn't really care about cars nowadays. If he did care about cars we'd probably have a GTR or a C7 Z06 or at least an Impreza WRX STi, but no. Unfortunately he drives a Suzuki Kizashi. Daniel4
My Mum can't drive and my Dad learnt when he was 30 or so, when I was a toddler. He's had a Vauxhall Astra, an Audi A3, a Ford Focus, then the same A3 again which got scrapped. He doesn't have anything now, but can drive my car when I'm home and my Grandad's Nissan Micra. My grandparents have had a load of Nissans, Nissan Micras, Bluebirds, some other ones, a Vauxhall Viva, a couple of Minis, an Austin Westminster, and a Citroen Picasso. universetwisters
My father used to drive a 1986 Buick Century sedan back when he was still alive. I remember it real good, he'd always take me out to model train shows way out in Maryland (we were living in Alexandria, VA at the time) and back then, to me, it was just a car. But looking back on it, it was amazing. One of the most reminiscent parts of my childhood, took me to all my friend's houses and school functions and more. It never had any troubles and my father took great care of it. He also had a 1959 Chevrolet El Camino, but sadly he wasn't able to get it running before he died, which was a shame because for most of the time that I could remember, it sat parked at the side of the house, rusting and faded. He also had some motorcycles, a Harley Davidson Sportster and another Harley used by the Mexico City police department. After he died, but because he was in the Marines at the time, he couldn't do anything with them so he sold them. My mother, on the other hand, bought a 2003 Ford Explorer SUV. It stayed with her through the years and, other than drunkenly hitting a mailbox and the rear window cracking for whatever odd reason, it's still going strong. My mom and I currently share it until I get the money to buy my own car, which I hope to get a Buick Century just like my father's and restore it. Here's my list (starting with me being in the picture) and I do not know some of the years, unfortunately. Mom: Chevrolet Cavalier which was in an accident involving 3 others cars. ('05) Dodge Neon which was shot a load of crap. We ended up calling it the Dodge Don't-Lean-On because it was so unstable. ('04) Mercury Mountaineer that didn't last long because the mechanic sold it to her which different sized tires, which messed up the drivetrain. Current Car - ('94) Buick Century, reliable and good on gas, but it's old and the interior is dated Dad: Toyota Celica CT, his only manual car with me which he ended up selling ('99) Dodge Durango which costed more to run than what it was worth so we ended up selling that Current Car - ('99 - '04) Chevrolet Blazer, good truck, durable, and expected to last a while. Gonna be handed down to me once he gets a new car Step-dad: Ford Ranger which was scrapped due to not being able to run anymore Current Car - ('91 - '99) Honda Accord, manual gearbox which a loud fartbox. 79'Blazer4x4
I never knew the years of most of them but: Mom - 2nd gen Ford Tempo coupe(her first car after she got her license when I was 7 or 8, it got totalled when she hit a deer with it). - 2002(I think) Ford Focus(eventually sold to my uncle after my mom got a new vehicle. He ended up hitting a deer with it. I yanked the Ford badge off the front before it got scrapped and put it on my bedroom wall). - 1st gen Chevy Equinox(she drove it up until this winter when the head gasket and other things went on it, it was sold at an auction a couple months ago). -03' GMC Sierra 2500(she owns this now) Step-dad(as far as I remember, he may have had vehicles I don't know about before my mom met him). -4th gen Chevy K-1500(I think he sold it to upgrade to a newer truck, I was pretty young when he had it). -Early 2000's Chevy Silverado 1500(got sold later to upgrade once again) -2010 Chevy Silverado 1500(he had this for a few months then traded it for a 2012 because he didn't like it). -2012 Chevy Silverado 1500(drives this now). The most memorable vehicles from my childhood were my grandparents' vehicles though. My grandma had an 83'-88' Ford Ranger. It was silver with the most retro gaudy pin striping design I've ever seen. It's the vehicle I rode in most as a kid as my mom lived with my grandparents for the first 5 years or so of my life. It was only a single cab though so I'd always end up in the middle fold-out console seat. The other was my grandpa's late 70's Chevy trucks. He had 2 as far as I remember, one was blue and one was black. I don't remember the reason but eventually the black one's box ended up on the blue one and the rest of the black one went for scrap or something. It was the blue one with the black one's box that I learned to drive stick in. Flachbau
