How do you guys do those awesome screenshots with the two cars, that looks like they are racing?

I think they just put a couple of cars around, and then do some action (like jumping, drifting, etc) in one car and take a screenshot smile.gif

I think they are scripted.

Spawned cars with the Crazy Trainer 151+ and making the "actions" so that they are 'real' racing and actions.

I myself would do that too.

Today anything is nearly possible with GTA SA.

I think I tried to do a Perfect Vegetation v2 + BSOR install; but I got white texture bug .. ?

 

And I think with the Crysis Palm Beta; u needed to import the .col file ? Haven't tested it myself; but did download the files; and thats what I gathered ..

@methodunderg - Did you copy gta_tree_palm.txd over? Yup, need to use Col Editor 2 to import crysis_palm_beta01.col into your vegepart.col

@JF-Mir2 - I didn't do it at once smile.gif If I installed them all at once and got a problem, I wouldn't have a clue which mod would be the cause of the problem. I did it one at a time, and between each rebuild started the game up to see if everything worked as it should. Also with adding BSOR+Crysis Palm & GTASA4VER+Marty's GR I had to extract textures using TXD Workshop from one mod and add them to the other to avoid getting the white bug.

 

This is not for the faint hearted....

 

As I want my game to be compatible with MTA, I can't add new IMG files. So before doing all of the stuff below I extracted all the vehicles+tuning parts from gta3.img and imported them into cutscene.img and extracted all the peds+weapons and imported them to gta_int.img. For gta3.img I use IMG Manager (as it is 2.33GB) and the rest of the img files I use Alci's Img Editor.

 

1. Install SRT3 1.7 using IMG Manager 'Bulk Replace'. Start game to see if everything works fine (honestly you don't need to do it here as the mod only replaces textures...I just do it to be on the safe side blush.gif )

 

2. Install Perfect Vegetation V2 using IMG Manager 'Bulk Replace'. Start game to see if everything works fine (At this point what I did was make a copy of gta3.img, so if you get a problem and have to install a mod again you can just use the backup)

 

3. Install BSOR Palms Beta. (You don't need the 'fix' that makes it compatible with PO 2010 as I installed PV2. Also check game to make sure everything is fine, and make a backup)

 

4. Install Crysis Palm Beta. Now for this we need to import the .col file and extract the textures from the one txd into the one PV2 uses. So with IMG Manager extract 'gta_tree_palm.txd' & 'vegepart.col' from gta3.img (or extract them again from the rar/zip you downloaded). With TXD Workshop, open 'gta_tree_palm.txd' that comes with the Crysis Palm Beta, extract both '0bbd390c' & 'd4c76993' textures and import them into the 'gta_tree_palm.txd' that you just extracted from your gta3.img (one that comes with PV2) with the same names and alpha enabled for 'd4c76993'. For the col, open up Col Editor 2, open vegepart.col that you extracted earlier and simply add crysis_palm_beta01.col into it. Bulk Replace your modified 'gta_tree_palm.txd' & 'vegepart.col' into your gta3.img. Rebuild and start your game up to see if everything went well.

 

5. Now both GTASA4EVER & Grove Retextured replaces the same files. All I wanted was the building textures from GR. So I just simply added (replacing the one in gta3.img obviously) contachou1_lae2.txd from GR into GTASA4EVER and replaced the one that came with SA4EVER. So simply bulk replace GTASA4EVER into your gta3.img, make sure it works fine....then replace contachou1_lae2.txd in gta3.img with the one from Marty Mcfly's Grove Retextured. One quick way of finding out what textures are for what ingame, I just used TXD Workshop to see if the textures in the txd had building textures.

 

Thats what I had to do to get them working together in game. Thinking about replacing some trees with the ones from PO 2010 and see how they turn out. Hope this helps.

 

Below are the img sizes so far...

cutscene.img: 330MB (contains all the vehicles+tuning parts)

gta_int.img: 793MB (contains interiors (forgot to mention I've installed Interiors Revisited as well blush.gif, also has pedestrians+weapons)

gta3.img: 2.33GB

player.img: 65MB (Nothing added, but thinking about extracting the peds again and importing into this img instead of gta_int.img)

My game is really smooth now so I think it was worth all the hassle! Yup its possible, [sAK*]KING_OF_SA actually posted a tutorial on this quite awhile back somewhere on the web (forgotten where). As long as none of the files are missing, the game will go through all the available img files until it finds the files that are needed, so you could for example combine all the files from every img and put them all into gta3.img and remove the rest of the img files. Or split gta3.img up so you have gta3.img and gta3_2.img etc. (by editing the gta.dat as well) Also its useful for I'm sure many users here who downloads a few new cars everyday and want the rebuild process to be quick by having all the vehicles in another img beside gta3.img

 

Yeah, install GTASA4EVER first and then add contachou1_lae2.txd from Marty's Grove Retextured into gta3.img......or extract tatui's mod to a folder, copy+paste+replace contachou1_lae2.txd from GR into the folder and bulk replace the files that way.

Thought I should just remind all the users who haven't posted a screenshot that the deadline will be the 28th of this month (especially for the ones who just goes to the last page and ignores the first one). I'm amazed how quickly we are racing through these pages! notify.gif

 

Also a reminder to Razurbow & adamek1124 you still got time to re-submit a screenshot for the competition! If you however already have submitted a screen the second time, please let me know as I might have missed your post.

 

If you have just discovered about the competition from this post, please go view the first post of this thread for more info! Also I would advise everyone if they haven't posted a screenshot for the competition, to do so before the 28th....don't leave it till the last minute!!

I need help dudes, or any advise...

 

whatsthat.gif When I part my gta3.img into several IMG files, my game crashes. The f*ck is wrong? How did you dudes made it work? I heard some of you using splitted GTA3.img's. Is it maybe my mistake, that i made splitted it into 6 parts? (the parts are filled with: vehicles, peds, weapons, radar, vegetation, the "rest" e.g. World textures and other crap, staying into "normal" gta3.img).

 

 

Ofc i renamed them into like gta3_2.img, gta3_3.img and so on. I deleted all files which where put into them from the "orginal" gta3.img ad added them all in there. I am 100% sure, so much sure that i can bet my balls on it, that i didn't forgot any file. I also added those stuff into gta.dat. I ain't noob at adding lines or editing *.img files. But why it doesn't work? I remember, where it crashed always with just one secondary gta3.img (for vehicles only), which i made in same way. dozingoff.gif

BLAH BLAH not important to tell that i did it right, but i want to prevent useless comments...

 

Main problem:

I must try my GTASA with splitted gta3.img's, as I heard it improves performance and loading of stuff from each group (cars, vegetation, etc...) and my GTASA gets stupid lags even from orginal trees when i got any f*cking mod now installed. Thy always come after like 3-5 minutes playing my GTASA. I always need to ALT+TAB every 5fth minute to get smooth gameplay again (40fps with enb and srt3!) which gives me another bugs (like not correct lighting of cars what makes cars look gay) -.-

 

Yes, game crashes at like 69% of loading screen. sad.gif

 

My PC is just the f*cking crappiest crap in the f*cked up sh*tty history ever formed into a f*cking crap called PC (Personal Crap). orly.gif

I appreciate any help or tips. Do I need to edit something else than gta3.img and gta.dat? Or forget it and "enjoy" lags?

Damn; I better get my A into G and fix my SA so I can compete .. Game crashes whenever I leave LS lol. Maybe it ssomething to do with SALA? Error log/codes always have 'AMBIENCE' in it ..

 

I think I might hafta re-do my ENB as well; it looks rather boring when turning it off and on; nothing really seems to change.

 

Does anyone use the Virtual IMG Manager from Ryosuke?

 

True or False ..

If using ENB to load an extra .dll, and switching ENB off during game; is the .dll still loaded?

I'm pretty sure there is a limit on how many extra .img files can be loaded; but don't take my word for it.

I would also try rename them a bit better, than doing *_2 etc.. icon14.gif
