2x Object Draw Distance

 

Is intentional set to 1000.0 only ? cause I'm trying to set for 9000.0 and it ain't making any changes [i tried 3000.0 and still the same]. There's not much of draw distance here, maybe on foot or road/driving, but if I take the Jet and fly anywhere, most of the big-tall trees in San Fierro, pinetrees in Country, the tool doesn't have any effect on them. Suddenly they appear in front of me after I'm very close to them of few meters, like the draw distance wasn't never improved, so they still act by their normal value that was given in the game. The same goes for palm trees in Las Venturas. I also had some unexpected moments of trees that will appear after I turn my face to them, the corner of your eyes angle

If I take too much high altitude, they disappear and they only generate after I'm very close to the ground [another reason that I don't get it, is why R* has set the value of trees so close to the ground], giving the game meaning that I want to land, making shift between normal and Lod objects.

 

Oh right, and of course they can't go futher than 1000.0, because there aren't any Lod support trees for them, however if you can set much higher value than 1000.0, maybe the trees will mantain to be from any distance.

I was wondering the same thing, because I've played with the value before, and haven't noticed a difference ..

 

Unsure about the data files he included in the mod, will have to look @ those later when I have time.

I was wondering the same thing, because I've played with the value before, and haven't noticed a difference ..

The data files are the maps IDE files (the ones actually responsible for the draw distance settings) but the EXE caps the draw distance of some objects,

so changing the IDE files has no effect, this is where the LOD Distance variable comes into play, that controls this limitation,

theoretically you can set it as far as you want, but the game still has technical limitations, like the inability to load things when flying (not sure why),

and the flickering map bug, thats why it's set to 1000, because nothing is being drawn outside of there thats

limited anyway (due to objects disappearing, etc)...So of course setting it to 9000 instead of 1000 does nothing, you must also edit the IDE files accordingly.

To make it even more confusing setting the LOD Distance variable to 300 (the original value I believe tounge.gif) doesn't mean if you set all the IDE values to 300, they will display at their defined

distance, they don't match, for that you need something between 500-1000 in the limit adjuster

 

If you edit both variables accordingly you can get ALL the traffic lights, trees etc on the map trying to be rendered at once, even in areas that are in LOD or not loaded at all.

Trying being the keyword here

To notice this mod you have to be on the ground, or flying low unfortunatley smile.gif

If you look at my screenshots and compare them to ingame without the mod, you will notice that unmodded the trees don't reach even close to the

Shamrock casino, but with the mod, they go all the way tounge.gif, and it doesn't stop there, the traffic lights, streetlights, all rendered at twice the distance (usually

before you can see them), if you look,

you will notice little differences, which add up to make a BIG difference smile.gif

Since the lampposts/streetlights are loaded further away, what about loading the coronastar's for these too (in perspective of course)

 

Will also test it with SALA2, as I can't use the .dll version, as I'm getting ENB to load SweetFX .dll (although I could use RadeonPro to inject SweetFX instead, freeing up the Proxy Library)

No need, if you just rename enb from d3d9.dll to d3d9_r.dll limit adjuster will load it, allowing enb to still load sweetFX (it's NTAuthority's fix)

As for the coronastar's, I can't make any promises, but I'll see what I can do smile.gif

First though, I have to get the grass rendering far away
