Lurch
Yeah, body lifts really do look retarded.
Burbalade
Yeah but I don't see $171 getting me a decent suspension lift. I'll have a friend fab me up a diamond plate filler for the rear bumper and paint it black, and I'll throw some paint on the frame rails so they don't look so bad. Lurch
Still going to look retarded unless you have some nice plate bumpers made that actually hide the gap.
Burbalade
Meh. Looks better than it did before. Edit: Just had a buddy put some tint on the Burb. 35% front windows, 50% entire windshield. Edited September 18, 2012 by Burbalade
Burbalade
Guess it's been a good while since I've updated this. Should be making some more progress over the next month or so.
GoldenBlade
Looks pretty good. Better than it did at first. I don't really like such long trucks, but you've made this one pretty cool looking. What else do you plan on doing to it?
Lurch
Have you got everything gathered for the Escalade conversion yet? IIRC, it required having filler moulding made/modified for the part that was longer on a burb over an Escalade?
Burbalade
Have you got everything gathered for the Escalade conversion yet? IIRC, it required having filler moulding made/modified for the part that was longer on a burb over an Escalade? Have all of the body molding except for the drivers fender flare, and have an extra pair of front door molding for filling in at the back of the rear doors. Also have a hood and passenger fender. There's a complete front clip for sale semi-locally for $600, so I'm about to send the guy a text and see if I can work something out with him. (Don't have a disposable $600 laying around, as I need new mirrors, I've got bills, I think my GTX480 just died, and on top of that I need a couple hundred set aside in case I need to bail my father out of jail.) If I continue collecting one by one, I still need both bumpers, drivers side fender w/ flare, grill, headlights, and corner lights. Other plans that I don't know if I've mentioned yet are: -Full Z75 Bose system -Heated tow mirrors -Heated/cooled cup holders -HIDs -ARB Bumper

Burbalade
Got it for $350, plus the $80 I spent in gas. Also got the bumper with it (with factory fog lights) but I need lift brackets for it.
Lurch
How much do bumper lift brackets run?
Burbalade
Varies. Last time I checked the first few sets I saw were $70+. If I can't find some cheap I'll just have a friend extend the ones I have.
Carlover325
Are you gonna restore those headlights? They look kinda foggy.

Lurch
That truck looks pretty beast, especially for a first generation. Do you mean first gen Escalade or Suburban? Because that's a 9th gen burb.
Burbalade
So, I'm torn on what to do with paint. Dark Metallic green trimmed in Light Autumnwood, or White Diamond trimmed in Light Autumnwood? I was thinking solid White Diamond but after seeing it with the molding on, it just looks too tall with a solid color.

Carlover325
The white looks classier. The green looks a little more rugged. I like both.
Lurch
Possibly a bit generic, but how bout a black top half? Big SUV's always look great in black. Also, any plans for the wheels? I can't help but think chrome powdercoat would look cool.
Burbalade
Possibly a bit generic, but how bout a black top half? Big SUV's always look great in black. Black and Silver would probably look f*cking awesome, but the Carolina sun around here on a black roof would have the interior feeling like a convection oven even at this time of year. Also, any plans for the wheels? I can't help but think chrome powdercoat would look cool. I was thinking the H2 Alocoas if I could find a set at a decent price. Lurch
Honestly like the H1's you have no a lot more (plus you have tires that will last damn near forever and double beadlocks and runflats for a bit of added security). A little color work on them can go a long way on spicing them up. And from someone that dailys a black car in a hot state (south of you I believe), I think the whole sun thing people always bring up for them is a bit overblown. I barely ever use my AC even on near 100 degree days.

Lurch
Just leave them in please. Nothing screams flatbiller douche like flipped out tow mirrors.
Burbalade
Don't worry. I've got no interest in making them stick out any further than they already do. Let it be known that as far as an appearance upgrade, I'm against tows and much prefer my factory mirrors. But visibility on the other hand... The difference is amazing. So since they're on there I'm going to make the most of it and have them painted to match when the Burb gets painted.
epoxi
Nice front end conversion, does everything fit together smoothly? For the paint: how about gloss Black trimmed with Autumnwood? Otherwise I think the green is best, I was tempted to say white seeing as you're going through the effort to respray it so it'd look brand new, but green is a much less common colour for an Escalade so stands out (plus makes the vehicle look less tall as you say).
