Top 3 Protagonists

Ok 1st of all I looked everywhere & can't find a related thread, so admin pls lock this if there is

My top 3 are:

Tommy Vercetti

As soon as he is out of jail he gets straight back into the game. The story is amazing & he ends up in total charge of Vice City. Some of the best III era quotes are from him too. (No. I just wanted to piss you off before I kill you)

Johnny Klebitz

A battle scarred biker gang leader. Knows how to use a weapon but also has a caring side. Born leader & generally intelligent guy. Some of the best IV era quotes are from him. (Trying to take yourself out of the gene pool are ya?)

Claude

Fido is a mysterious person, to this day we still don't know his surname (please get rockstar to call him claude speed before saying that)

He never speaks which I think is cool, wether or not he actually is a mute or not is irrelevant. Beefing with nearly every gang in the game is also great.

The other protagonists are all cool, I will not say a bad word against them cool.gif Thanks for reading

1.Claude Speed

He does whatever he is told just for money and revenge.

2.Tommy Vercetti

As the others said,as soon as he gets out of jail,he tries to take over Vice City.

3.Carl Johnson-CJ.

I put it as my third because he is a pussy when it comes to working for Toreno.

1. Niko

I just like his personality more than any other protaganist. He seems less cold hearted than everyone else. He also has a more interesting back story than any other one.

2. C.J

I thought he was the funniest one. He made the most jokes and seemed to be the most light hearted. But he never really seemd to know what was going on and mostly just took orders from others unlike Niko who actually seemed to be more involved. But i still liked CJ because of his humor.

3. Tommy Vercetti

I never really hopped on the Tommy V. bandwagon. But he was pretty cool. He was defiinatly the most confidant protaganist. He was also a B.A who could slay anyone. Hes basically a cold hearted killing machine. And takes over the city almost all by himself and than he kills the guy who betrayed him while the Mafia was rushing his house and taking all his money.

1) Niko.

I love his broad range of emotions. Easily the most "human" of all the protagonists. Typically people say he whines and cries too much, but to me this shows he actually has a spine. I normally get sick of cliched hardasses who apparently have no emotion at all. I really connected with him. A brilliantly written character.

2) Tommy.

Opposite to Niko. I just love his cool and slick personality and how he controls his own destiny. Never lets anyone get in his way and if any one does he makes sure they're no longer a problem. It's really hard to split Niko and Tommy. I would have them ranked equal first, but put Niko in the #1 spot just for this topic.

3) Johnny.

Takes no crap off no one and I really enjoyed his interesting relationship with certain character in TLAD particularly Jim. Not the most intelligent, or extravagant protagonist ever made, but he really suited the role in TLAD and provided a nice contrast to his role in GTA IV's core story.

I would've ended up having the exact same list as yours if I didn't play SA before VC. I just have a better connection with CJ to Tommy out of pure nostalgia.

1. Carl Johnson - From a hood with what could have been no future but no, CJ is a smart individual. He doesn't give a damn about his "reputation" and lets people who he plans to take out push him around (Jizzy, T-Bone, Salvatore, Pulaski) and when it's time for sh*t to get real, he ruthlessly takes out whole gangs on his own. Basically, if he can't go all out against a gang immediately, he introduces himself to the boss and starts sucking up to him just to gain their trust and when it's the perfect time to betray them, he does just that. People take his intelligence for weakness which seems the reason why he often gets called a "coward" which is the exact opposite of what he is.

2. Tommy Vercetti - Ruthless and takes no sh*t. He did something similar to most of Carl's plans by being pushed around by Diaz until the opportunity to rub him out came (although it was rushed thanks to Lance) and then took over the whole city and gained new friends and enemies plus a rich empire in the process.

3. Victor Vance - This guy did whine a bit too much about things he would nonetheless proceed to do but doing it was never a problem for him, just dealing with the aftermath was bothering him and it ended up with him getting shot in the middle of a drug deal (that in my fantasy world, he escaped and got patched up then leave Vice City and Lance for good) because of all of the sh*t he went through after being kicked out of the army.

All the protagonists in GTA are awesome, not one sucks but some are just better than others. Another one I really like is the silent Claude who wouldn't mind getting a phone call from another continent telling him to wage war against every resident of Liberty City. He does it all and deals with the consequences the way a ruthless killer deals with them and that's by not giving a single f*ck.

1. Niko Bellic

Best guy, best background, best friends (Roman & Brucie smile.gif) just my favourite.

2. Carl Johnson

I played with that guy for almost 3 years without having like 'What the?'. Just cool guy.

3. Tommy Vercetti

Don't know him very well, but still a funny character to play.

1. Niko Bellic (He was just so real, made everything about IV feel completely real)

2. Luis Lopez (Bathroom shagging is epic, you gotta admit!)

3. Tommy Vercetti (The most realistic of all the III-Era Protagonists)

1. Tommy Vercetti

Just so. I can't even tell, he is just so awesome. Cold, cool, ultimate badass and in the charge of his own destiny. Best protagonist - 4 ever. And the best line of gaming industry - "No. I just wanted to piss you off before I kill you"

2. Luis Lopez

Althrough I haven't played with him much(I don't own EFLC yet, coming to my post box tomorrow), he is cool. Great protagonist. He doesn't want to be involved in gangsta sh*t but he has to do so.

3. Carl "CJ" Johnson

CJ is a very good protagonist too. Before the mission "Outrider" I though he was cold and ultimate badass, but after T-Bone pointing a gun on him and CJ screaming "I SWEAR!"... He is still a great badass.

1. Niko Bellic.

2. Vic Vance.

3. Tommy Vercetti.

I only honestly disliked Claude, and that's because he was mute. Niko was quiet, but not mute.

Ironically enough, he's the protagonist with the smallest wang.

1. Toni Cipriani

He wiped out 3 strong gangs, he's epic, even when he is thin he can run with bazooka, in GTA V he looks like older version of him(heard some rumors).

2. Claude

He's mute, he only answers things with a gun.

3. Niko Bellic

He sounds funny, talks really cool, beaten lots of gangs.

Niko Bellic is easily the best protagonist in the Grand Theft Auto series. The reason being is because you as a player can actually relate, to an extent; to how he is feeling and his emotions rather then just being another crazed psychopath that most other protagonists were.

Second would probably have to be Tommy Vercetti. He had a take no sh*t kind of attitude that you would expect in a protagonist of an open ended crime game. Infact, you would expect nothing less then that.

Carl Johnson is third best equal with Johnny Klebitz and Luise Lopez
