I think i should be getting alot more fps (atleast 20-30) on my spec like the GTS 450 reviews on youtube. I can even run crysis 2 on 40fps with this machine. Here is the screenies of my settings: Oh heres my spec: AMD X2 255 3.1Ghz Inno3d GTS 450 1GB SDDR3 4GB RAM I hope theres a solution for this, i can't accept this is what 450 GTS can do. radioman Posted September 7, 2011 Share Posted September 7, 2011 (edited) First of all, you have the settings WAY too high for a Dual core processor-even people with Quad cores have trouble running these games that high...So, LOWER the settings to Low/Mediumish and thus you will use less resources and thus get smoother gameplay and better fps...It IS NOT necessary to run the game on that high of settings, as there really is NO difference between Low settings and High settings(besides higher settings using more resources), but gameplay-wise, Low settings seem more fluid and better...Why people try to run games on such high settings when they are smoother and better fps on Low settings is beyond me? Just curious on that one? Also, you CANNOT compare one game with another, as every game runs differently and uses different amounts of resources... As far as I know, the Higher the number on the card, the newer and more up to date it is? Just curious. Radioman, that is one of the worst statements ever written in this section. A Radeon 5970 has a lower number then a Radeon 6450. Does that mean the 6450 is stronger then the 5970? Not at all. The GTS 450 should be enough to run the game at decent settings. Another thing low setting and high setting is different thats why they make an option for that. If they are the same, why would high settings eat resource? Coz it looks better. @yankeespwnmets i think I know what kills my fps. I tried turning off the shadow and it went smooth. But turning it on even at low setting lowers my fps badly. I dont know why this happens. turning off shadows looks sh*tty. And yes I have all the latest drivers for my hardware and im running Windows 7 Pro 32bit. That's my point, Either you set the settings on High and get lousy gameplay performance, OR you set the settings to LOW and get way better performance and gameplay..Kind of common sense which is the better option, huh? -the Low settings and better gameplay and performance would be best..especially on a Dual core processor, as Dual Cores ONLY meet the Minimum requirements according to the box, as the Recommended Processors by the box ARE QUAD core processors. If the game works well on LOW, and lousy on High, why worry about trying to run it on high, when it gets better performance and looks pretty decenct on LOW settings(at least it does to me, but that is probably cause I am used to playing games on lower-end PC's, as my first PC was barely at minimum for VC and SA, but it still looked pretty decent and gameplay was pretty good). No game matches the ped and traffic density and AI of gta iv. There is no title to compare it too, it's easy to say they coded it bad when you don't know the first thing about programming, let alone AI and 3D algos. But you're a little bit true at the coding part though, it only uses 3 cores, that's part of the cause if you have a quad core (like me).
