simplestarwarsfan
Hey guys, got a little issue here. It seems all my scripts assigned keys are lagging when pressed, they work but you have to hold down the key for a bit. The thing is when using the Trainer (SNT) I can scroll though the menus at normal speed but when I go to select something (by pressing num5) I get the lag. For the rest of the scripts all keys lag all the time. Ok spec time, running GTA IV 1.0.7.0 with iCEnhancer 1.25 (ENB). currently installed scripts include: AdvancedCarActions, FirstPerson, Trainer (SNT), ELS, TaxiMisson (these are .asi), FirstResponse, and TrafficFlow (these are .net). other mods: various weapon mods, sound mods, cloths mods, car mods, and texture mods (like for roads). Any ideas? Edit: this just recently started happening, all these scripts and mods have been working together for a least a month now (until now). Symbiote
I'm not sure how all those scripts do it, but I know there are at least two ways to detect key presses. The first method detects the key press instantly, as soon as the key is pressed. The other method checks every X milliseconds to see if the key is pressed (X is set by the programmer). So it could be that all those scripts are using the non-instant method. But I think that seems rather unlikely, so maybe there's something else going on... simplestarwarsfan
So what can i do about it? Seeing that i don't have access to the source code... and what would cause the x milliseconds method to become slower (more delayed)?
sjaak327
You don't really need access to the source code, the lag in trainer menu is caused by: 1) other mods 2) a virus 3) all the above, but in general it is a local configuration issue. The trainer keybindings are all the same and should work normally (as they apparently did in your case as well). And it is using the "normal" way of detecting a keypress, without any delay. I did have people that complained about the num 5 specifically, but the truth is, num 5 used the exact same method as all the other keys, now some people got it fixed either by redefining the key to say enter, and some claimed they got it sorted by doing a virus scan and cleaning some stuff.
