Nick Foster Posted September 3, 2011 Share Posted September 3, 2011 I've basically given up playing R* titles online because of these connection issues. I recieve an invite, and as it loads, it just boots me back because i got "disconnected." Same with RDR. However, I have an open NAT type, and I can connect in every single other game that I play, except for these two. I've tried getting invites from different people in the lobby, but it still doesn't work. Can anybody help? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Wu Kenny Lee Posted September 4, 2011 Share Posted September 4, 2011 I had a similiar problem a while ago, and the solution was f*cking complicated. MTU needs to be manually entered, DHCP needs to be disabled, the entered DNS server must lead to the router, some ports need to get opened, UPnP need to be either enabled or disabled, which depends on the situation and so on. I figured the right configuration with the trial and error method out, after 4 f*cking hours -_- I could post my post the configuration of my PS3 if that helps, but I'm not sure if that configuration is working for you, ,my problem was that I couldn't join friends in any game before I changed it. If you need a new router, buy a Netgear, they're awesome. I'll either purchase this: D-Link Xtreme N Gaming Router ... or a netgear router. The only downside I'm hearing so far is that the router has a difficult time handling large spikes in traffic at once and can lead to random resets, but considering the Belkin is a absolute piece of failure it's much better in comparison. And to possibly answer OP's question: Either do some research on configuring your MTU settings, if you're not confident enough to do so without assistance, contact the products tech support. You'll usually hear back from them within 48 hours (Or maybe more considering this is a holiday weekend). Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
