Slamman
Yeah, Well, I go for the best deal I can wrangle and not look down on people because I don't know anyone like you giving me their old GOOD sh*t, the fact is CHEAP or Low Budget can mean anything, not having negative connotation ... I spent the most money on things that you don't find on sale, that's the OS and CPU for the most part, I got deals on all other components basically

There are people here who have high paying jobs, SlaveZer0 and me are two, and I am sure there are more. If you have money, and you can spend it, why opt for cheap stuff if you can get something elite?
surxenberg
To give you a decent reply: Since the game is very cpu bound, You'll need a quad core. Phenom II X4 seems to be the only option, as the Phenom outpaces the Core2Quads and is cheaper than Core i5 You'll need 4GB of RAM (3GB will do too) And a halfway decent graphics card. It appears the game has issues with AMD cards, go for an nVidia GTX560 Ti or without Ti. Again, the cpu is the critical component. I have experienced noticable performance gains from upgrading a Phenom II X4 3.2GHz to a Phenom II X6 3.6 Ghz (it still runs bad though, lol)

unc13bud
i agree, phenom is cheapest option. in america, microcenter has deals for x4 840 @ $50 occasionally - they had a deal with some motherboards as cheap as $10 more If you have money, and you have enough to spend, why not get a good and expensive computer? would rather spend it on seeing new places in real life. plus if one machine messes up, can go play gta on another until a suitable fix is devised
Stinky12
AMD's APU are more suited towards low computing like HTPC or for office use. Yes it's a quad, but they're aren't that strong as their desktop siblings. AMD A8 intergrated IGP will beat the sh*t out of Intel HD graphics, but when it comes to actual work, the Core i3 will smoke it. Core i3 is faster than AMD Phenom II in games even though it's a dual core with HT (4 threads). But most will have actual cores than fake ones. Yep Microcenter does have low prices http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_...duct_id=0354589
